Good night, Moorluck.

I'm gonna watch an episode of Flash Forward with my wife.

Well, its official. My partner now owns a house! Let's just hope he lets me live there. ;)

Drove by it again this evening after the lil lady wanted to stop by Big Lots to get some inexpensive items for the house (no point in blowing money on pricey stuff if the oversized mongrel doesn't know his own strength...) and I pointed it out to her. She said it looked nice from what we saw of the exterior. Probably the only downside is the traffic. (?)

When you get a chance, you need to check out The Graffiti Burger near the Marcus Theater. I think it's a little pricey, but worth it. Their burgers and fries are very good! We'll definitely go back.

Better Toto than Freddy.

Ugh. It's so annoying when characters have to act stupid to advance a plot.

Oh... it was a morning post here on Paizo. But I am glad to hear you enjoyed your sandwich.

Meh. Flash Forward has moments where this happens, and now that they're wrapping up the season, it's happening more frequently and egregiously.

We're watching The Godfather on WGN over here. Never get tired of that film.

When someone (me, in this particular case) receives suggestions for friends on FB, what is (are) the source(s) of the suggestions?

I think people can send suggestions, correct? Is there any other way/reason for such suggestions to pop up?

Are they suggestions from someone, or FB suggestions. The latter are generated by FB's software, right?

Mairkurion {tm} wrote:

with friend suggestions, how do I know which is which?

Facebook doesn't specifically drive suggestions to you in the same fashion you'd get from me. If a friend suggests you a page, you'd be seeing who made the suggestion to you.

But sometimes I get suggestions to the right of the screen and I don't see any mutual friends. Not sure how they come up with that.

Maybe that's where I got all these hawt chicks wanting me to friend them so I can enter a password to access their site.

Heh. Ri-i-i-i-ight...

Most of them will say "Suggested to you by Gregg." ;)

Do they come up when you click on the little people icon or when you click on See All Friends?

The more inane the FB post, the more discussion it seems to generate.

The sandwich thread was more about the existance of a sandwich than its enjoyment. (it was mediocre at best) Then Amby showed up, then The Puffin, and suddenly we had undead power generation plants and Steven Hawking in a War Machine suit and I.. I.. I don't quite know what happened. *cries*

I don't understand friend suggestions either. They show up on the home page with the number of common friends, but nothing else indicating where they came from. Urizen said he made a number of suggestions when I first joined, but I couldn't tell. It's confusing.

And then somebody writes a really long, well-thought out post hoping to generate discussion, and they are greeted by choruses of crickets.

I like to think profundity awes people into silence. Yeah, that's it.

Well thank goodness no one can find my facebook page. It's my alias see it hides all.

I get them for random people from every single school I have attended, even if their year of graduation is nowhere near mine. It's crazy.

I am referring to those that come under the suggestions column on the right of the page. The section beneath requests.

This one was a little surprising because it was a girl from my home town but it wasn't (as far as I know) suggested by anyone, we have no friends in common, and it certainly wasn't a request from her.

Spoiler:

When I first started high school in the 9th grade I was thirteen and it was a month before I turned fourteen.

There was this incredibly hot senior named Leticia Finley. She was tall, really long-legged, and filled out her jeans incredibly. She had blonde-red hair and as a thirteen year old (soon to be fourteen) I had trouble not staring at her with my jaw on the ground.

I have been aware that she has been married with kids for a considerable period of time as well as who her husband and kids were.

I received her as a suggestion tonight although we do not have any friends in common and I really doubt she remembers me. Perhaps FB made the suggestion because we share the same hometown.

The interesting bit is that you guys might recognize her from her family.

** spoiler omitted **

Whoah!

Talk about (less than) six degrees...

EDIT: In that case, I have no idea how that particular suggestion works ... maybe you entered something in your info that may have linked up like a hometown or a school or something ... and that the multiple entries were similar enough for FB's algorithm to suggest said match. *shrugs*

Willie Nelson keeps being suggested to me. I have a feeling we are going to be real pals.

The little "Add as Friend" button actually is labeled as "+1, Add as Friend". Is it always labeled that way with this just being the first time I recognized the "+1," or is this something new?

As far as I know, it's always been there.

It is very nice. The inside needs work but not because there are any pressing issues. We just don't like the decor. The siding and roof were updated just two years ago, so that is a load off of our minds.

Fortunately we have a circular driveway so we never have to back out. Car noise might be a factor, but it can't be much worse than what we deal with now. We practically live on I-70 and it took us awhile to adjust. Now I don't even hear it anymore.

I will have to check out the burger place. I didn't even know it was there, so thanks for the heads up.

Yes, the circular driveway will definitely be to your benefit!

And given the age / location of the house, I can imagine that the decor may be ... a bit aged and/or conservatively traditional (?) for your tastes.

As for the burger place, I tossed you a suggestion (what else is new). :P

I was particularly intrigued by the tea rose carpet and wallpaper in every room. The former owner was an elderly woman, so much of that is apparent in the house. Oddly, though, the bathroom is pink and black. I was very confused.

Iron Man 2

A! W! E! S! O! M! E!

Well worth full price. At LEAST 90% as good as the original. Hell, it is well worth seeing TWICE at full price. ~grins~ Of course, I saw the original 4 times in the theater.

~grins~ I really need to go to bed, but Iron Man 1 is calling my name. Gah! Sleep or an awesome movie?
