I lost my job yesterday, so I'm having to eliminate most/all discretionary spending for a while.
If I understand correctly, as a Subscriber, I can have my subscriptions suspended but not cancelled, and at a later date (presumably when I get a new job) I'll have the option to reactivate them to ship the items in the meantime as subscription (including the free PDF)? If so, that's what I'd like to do. If not, shoot me an email and I'll have to figure out what my options are...I don't want to miss out on the second half of the current adventure path, but I'd fell pretty guilty committing the money to it right now. Thanks.

I am very sorry to hear about that, and I have suspended your subscriptions for now.
Regarding your subscriptions, however, I have some bad news (probably) and some good news.
We do offer the option to subscribers to suspend subscriptions, but there is a time limit. We prefer that suspensions not last longer than a single shipment. The difference between a suspension and a cancellation is that you need to purchase all of the missed books after a suspended subscription resumes, preferably in one shipment. If you miss more than one shipment, then the size (and price tag) of the shipment upon resumption quickly becomes too large to handle. This means that you have until early June (the expected ship date of Pathfinder 23) to resume your subscriptions. I dearly hope to see your return long before this time. If not, your suspensions will become cancellations.
That's the bad news.
The GOOD news is that our community is ridiculously AWESOME.
A donor, on the condition of anonymity, has preordered Pathfinder #22, #23, and #24 for you. These purchases will be non-subscription purchases (i.e. no PDF), because we do not have the capability for gift-subscriptions (which was they originally asked to do), but you will be getting the books. Do not worry about your private information, as Paizo Customer Service (i.e. Alison) is acting as the intermediary to protect both of your identities. You will be receiving a forwarded confirmation email from Paizo Customer Service shortly.
I like days like today. :)
Thanks,
cos

I don't post around these parts often, but I have to agree, that was totally awesome. I've had kind of a bad week thus far, and this news has cheered me up immensely. It's good to know that gamers look out for each other, and that people can be so generous.
Hang in there. And props to the anonymous donor.

I'm stunned. It took me a while just to be able to post a reply.
I let myself check the site briefly, and had just realized what Cosmo's message meant when the doorbell rang. What would have been bittersweet - my last Paizo package for an indeterminate amount of time - arrived just as I learned that there would in fact be more, because someone had performed this incredible act of generosity on my behalf. Thank you! Thank you so very much!
I also want to thank everyone who has wished me well. It's a pretty emotional thing, losing a job - kind of hard to avoid some sense of rejection, you know? So your encouraging words mean a lot to me. (And of course, my thanks to Paizo staff and the community in general, for being the sort of community where someone would think to be so incredibly kind to someone they've never met.)

I'm in a very similar situation; without income, my subscriptions have to be canceled, so I'll have to remember and order the back issues when I have money again.
It'd be a great idea to let us suspend them until we have money again, so we don't have to keep track of which issues we've missed.
Edit: Never mind, I just read the post by Cosmo.

Sorry to hear about the lay off.
I don't know where you are, but if you're in southern California/Orange County area, my company is hiring. Clarientinc.com
Cancer diagnostics lab. Great company to work for.
Don't know if that'll help, but I wanted to throw it out there. Hang in there, check with friends to see if you can get leads on something new.
If anyone else on the boards knows of any leads Cintra can use, put 'em up. Let's see if the gaming community can work to take care of our fellow gamers.

I have been let go four times in the last four years. I certainly understand the feeling of rejection. Keep your head up and stay positive.

Is this something (gift subscriptions) that is being worked on? It would be nice to have....

Yeah, I'm interested too. I have some job possibilities that may up my weekly income by several hundred dollars, and I have some friends I would love to give subscriptions too as presents.
