i am using the cad Archetypes and at level 7 you get.(when a cad hits an opponent that is denied its Dexterity bonus to AC against him with a weapon or unarmed attack, he may attempt a dirty trick combat maneuver as an immediate action as part of the attack.)the wording denied its Dexterity bonus is not really used. You can find it with penalty's but unless some one is tide up or are on a surprise round there seems to be no way to use this in combat. Can the term denied its Dexterity bonus be clarified and can the cad ability be used in combat?

Different conditions disallows dex to ac, including climbing, running, being flat-footed, blinded, paralyzed and so on. Its noted in those abilities/conditions. Think about it like this: if the creature had a dex bonus to AC, it would not apply during these circumstances and then your ability works. Simply having no dex bonus isn't enough, neither is it enough if the opponent just has his dex to ac reduced to 0 by armor.
Denied dex and flat-footed are not the same. Flat-footed is a specific condition, there are many others too.

That wording is used all over the place. Check the rules for flat-footed and the invisible condition.
Edit: I don't know why I said flanking.
Edit 2: Blind, cowering, stunned work too,

Also, keep in mind using feint would achieve the opponent being "denied their Dexterity to AC" by game terms as well.
@jason johnston 553: No. Having a 0 or negative dexterity modifier is not "denying dexterity to AC". Being flat-footed, successfully feinted against, blind, stunned, helpless, unconscious, pinned, climbing, running, etc. all cause you to be denied your dexterity to AC. I might suggest reading through the Conditions portion of the Core Rulebook's Glossary for the various conditions that deny dexterity to AC.
