General Discussion (Prerelease)

Hi All,
Myth Merchant Press has just released SORD Plus, which is tuned to work with Pathfinder. If you have questions on what SORD is, read Pax Veritas' posts regarding it at http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/community/gaming/dnd/singingPraisesFor SORD.
You can find SORD Plus on sale at RPGNow.com

Well, crap.. after holding off for so long, and finally getting it, no more than a few days later they do this.. :(

Woo-hoo!!! I got mine!

Because Dithering Fool asked for it, I found a way to cram the Appraise skill in between Acrobatics and Bluff.

I also reset the pdf to be Acrobat 6.0-style rather than 9.0-style just to see if it fixes a FoxIt problem that one customer encountered.

So enjoy rev 1.1!

Regards,
Steve

Thank you for the head's up!

Thank you, again, Steve.
I'm glad all I needed to do was replace page 24. Whew!

Sorry, I was confused - I was reading the product as a rules compendium kind of thing not just a combat aid. With or without Appraise, this is a great source of information!

Thanks for being responsive to the community.

Grabbed a copy specifically because of the Pathfinder support. Excellent work - absolutely fantastic.

Are the Diplomacy rules missing or am I too blind to find them? Steven, it would be cool if you could add those. SORD Plus is a great reference for my PFRPG campaigns!

My next update will include them. I am slowly branching out of the "just combat" approach.

Cannot find CMB and CMB listing in my copy of SORD 1.1.
Revised Animal Companions would be nice.
Statblocks of Summon Monster and Summon Nature Ally would be of great help.

Make sure you have SORD Plus, not SORD. You will find CMB calculations on the Attack Modifiers page (page 10). SORD Plus is also now at 1.4, so be sure to re-download it.

Animal Companions... another item to consider... :-)

Thanks for the tip, I appreciate the 1.4 version changes.

Also, Summons in general would be great though you might want to leave them for SORD Summon Addendum :)

Please note that base save progression for prestige classes seems to be changed in PFRPG.

Bookmark "Spells && Spell like actions" contains double "&".

Thank you for your hard work. It's really good for keeping items together.

Regards,
Ruemere

Yeah, I saw that strange && bookmark thing myself. An InDesign quirk I guess.

I will have to take a look at the prestige classes. I will probably move their data to a separate page, still focusing on the combat part. I'm kinda looking at some of the feats that modify combat as well. Face it the game is big. I expect that any updates will not come out until January. There is this great holy week coming up that I want to focus on with my family.

Steve

It's ok, I'm still thinking on how to turn your book into a GM screen. :)

Anyway, my own preference for combat speed up improvement would be those summons - the spell is very flexible, and using summons is one of the best ways to keep opponent tanks occupied.

Playtest Results

I finally printed the SORD+ and bound it up for game night. The players were infiltrating a ravaged cove.

First up, I had to look up the Swimming skill. Right there on page 30 is everything we needed.

We had a discussion on AoO differences between 5' step and withdraw - page 8 had all the details right next to each other.

Finally, we spent some time looking at the flanking diagrams on page 13.

All in all, it was a huge success! Yes, all this information is readily available online and in the PRPG Beta, but the SORD+ is lightweight, attractive, and easy to use! Excellent work Steve!

now get that Goblin Fantasy Fiends supplement out!

Scarab Sages

This is awesome. I am very impressed and I know this is going to be an essential thing that eliminates 95% of the book-flipping or PDF searching I'm doing right now. I always know what I want to consult, but finding it takes too much time away from the flow of things.

Please keep this up to date. I'd have no problem paying $5 for this, even after the production release of PF is out -- this sort of distillation is always going to have a niche that the full book isn't going to address.

This bit of thread necromancy is to ask if there will be a PFRPG final version coming out for this product. I've use both versions (3.5 and PFRPG) quite a bit, both in my regular campaign and in PF Society games.

Throwing in my hopes for a "final" version come Aug!

Awesome product.

I was interested in this product too, but was waiting to see if a PF CORE version would be made.
