Liandra Nightwind
Liandra calmy picks her target and exhales as she looses the shot.
1d20+4=22
The bolt flies straight and true slamming into the face of the singing goblin with enough force to lift him off the ground.
1d8+1d6(sneak attack)=7+3=10 Warchanter is down
"I don't know which is worse," she says laughing as she drops the crossbow at her feet," the smell or the singing."
Drawing her short sword, her expression shift to a vicious grin,"That's right you little bastards," she mutters "come and get it"
DM_Iziak
There are 3 goblins remaining.
Two of the goblins close in on Goburn, attacking with their dogslicers Attacks=10, 11. No hits. They both jump around him as if to strike, but they seem to be hitting the wall more than flesh.
The other goblin rushes over to the fallen goblin warchanter, pulling a potion out of the cleaner goblins pouch, and forcing the liquid into the warchanter’s mouth. The warchanter’s eyes flicker out of unconsciousness, and he stands before he begins, once more, to sing. Goblin warchanter heals to 2 hp.
Goblins chew and goblins bite.
Goblins cut and goblins fight.
Stab the dog and cut the horse.
Goblins eat and take by force!
Skazz’s turn.
DM_Iziak
Goblins race and goblins jump.
Goblins slash and goblins bump.
Burn the skin and mash the head.
Goblins here and you be dead!
Chase the baby, catch the pup.
Bonk the head to shut it up.
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed,
We be goblins! You be food!
As he sings, the warchanter takes a 5-foot step back from Skazz and fires his shortbow at the half-orc. Attack=24. Hits for 5 damage.
Top of initiative: Corvin. There are 2 full-health standard goblins left and the warchanter is at 2 hp.
Corvin
Corvin spits out a series of unintelligible words as his staff begins to glow with a faint blueish light. For a short moment, the surrounding air grows colder, and a rime of frost coats the staff, as well as Corvin's free hand.
With a commanding gesture, a streak of frozen air streaks towards the still-singing goblin. Ranged Attack Roll (Ray of Frost): 1d20+1= 14. Damage 1d3=2.
Liandra Nightwind
Liandra charges at one of the 2 goblins squaring off against Goburn catching it between herself and the ranger.
Attack 1d20+8(+2 charge,+2 flank)=28! Natural 20 woohoo!!
Confirmation roll 1d20+8=19 Hit
;Damage 2d6+2(crit)+1d6(sneak attack)+=13
Her burst of speed catches the goblin facing the ranger as her short blade plunges into his brainstem to exit his mouth. She twists the blade as she withdraws it grinning.
"That's two Skazz! Or at least one and a half" she amends winking at Corvin.
Liandra Nightwind
"He's only helpless till that little bastard pours a potion down his throat again. Does honor make you immune to being stabbed in the back? Or perhaps it makes you invulnerable to being overwhelmed, taken down AND TORTURED!!"
Her hands tremble with rage as her blade hovers above the prone goblin.
"DOES IT?? THEN SIGN ME UP!! OTHERWISE DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO ME ABOUT HONOR!!"
With a yell of rage and anguish, Liandra drops to her knees with the strike, bringing her full weight to bear. She turns the blade in a complete circle, and as the Goblin's body stops twitching she seems to deflate, kneeling, her head down, hair concealing her face.
The movement of her shoulders indicate her breathing comes heavier than during the entire fight.
Damage on the Coup-de grace is 16 all told
Skazzgrakk
Skazz grabs the remaining goblin around the throat and lifts it off its feet.
"Dignity? I left my dignity with the murdered bodies of my people. I'll show dignity to someone when I think they deserve it...an' I can't see anyone in this world deservin' it any time soon 'coz i've got a hell of a lot of 'un-dignity' to work out of my system."
Skazz looks at Liandra "You did what I'd have done"
Turning back to the strugling Goblin he brings it right up to his face.
In Goblin "Now, are you going to tell me what I want to know or do I just keep on squeezing!"
And with that Skazz starts to slowly close his fist...
Algret Durthane
Tapping Skazz on the hip and looking UP: "Easy there high pockets, if he cannot breathe he cannot talk. Also if, he gives us the information we seek (she looks pointedly at the dangling and gasping goblin) he will have kept his part of the terms of surrender. We cannot kill him or we risk becoming that which we hate. We CAN tie him up, stuff him in a sack and take him to the magistrates once we have the Harrow deck as evidence...Many birds, one stone as my grandmother says."
Algret Durthane
So little vermin, unless you wish to return to dangling by the throat from my friends ever tightening fist....why don't you tell us how many goblins lair here, where you keep your stolen goods, and where is the Cleric for the Lady of Monsters? I would be quick if I were you. I am not sure how patient my tall friend is feeling today...
DM_Iziak
The goblin gives Algret a confused look and, still whimpering, scratches his head as if puzzled by her question.
LIANDRA
Skazzgrakk
Skazz walks over to the fallen goblin chanter and turns the body over with Tusk-Taker, before searching it.
So that the quivering goblin can see, Skazz visibly yanks open the Goblin Chanters mouth and pulls out one of its teeth.
"Time I started a new necklace..."
To the Goblin...
"She said how many of you is there here, where'e yur treasure an' where can we find yer Boss?..."
Liandra Nightwind
Liandra takes a minute to get some air and regain her composure. When she re-enters the room it is with the return of her default swagger.
"I don't think we'll have to worry about the guards but we might want to speed this up all the same.
Looks like there's something brewing across the city. Could be a fire, although if I can see it from here, it's a damn big one."
Corvin
Corvin, noting that his spell has expired, turns his mind to his magic again.*
Muttering something in a low voice, Corvin's eyes take on a pale blue glow for a moment, before fading back to their natural colour. "Now let's see, where was that magic coming from?" He says out loud, mostly ignoring the plight of the poor goblin.
Casting Detect Magic. Will spend the required time studying the spells to find out all I can.
I've got my mind on my magic, and my magic on my mind. (Sorry, too good to pass up)
DM_Iziak
Good to see you back, Corvin.
CORVIN
EVERYONE: So, now for a list of treasure that you can take from the dead goblins, followed by a copy of the room description for ease of reference. If you all want, you can split up the gold for any items that you just want to sell now, or at the end of the adventure, without worrying about finding a buyer, just to make things easier. If you want to roleplay all of that, though, I’m fine with that, too.
Treasure: 4 Small dogslicers, 4 Small light wooden shields, 4 Small suits of leather armor, 1 Small suit of studded leather armor, 1 Small whip, 1 Small short sword, 1 Small shortbow with 20 arrows, and 20 gp. Total sellable value: 99 gp and 5 sp.
The Room: The floor in the room is slick with seawater, bits of seaweed, and fish blood—the air is thick with the accompanying scent. Wooden catwalks to the north and south allow access to the western part of the fishery, while the floor here is only five feet above the river below. An open bay to the south allows direct access to the sloppy, muddy water, while to the northwest stands an immense ten-foot tall vat, its sides caked and waterproofed with tar. Inside is a foul-looking mixture of chum, seawater, and who knows what else. To the east are stacked many barrels and crates, each marked in paint with a fish. Nearly two dozen small hammocks hang from under the catwalks, each with its own ratty blanket and pillow.
Liandra Nightwind
As the interrogation proceeds, Liandra systematically searches the room for clues as to the goblins' purpose, numbers, equipment etc. She also checks for hiding places, maps or anything of that nature.
Unless interupted, finding something or the party decides to leave consider her to be sweeping the room, tapping for hollow surfaces etc.
Perception 14 (16 sight/sound)
DM_Iziak
Liandra, we’ll just say that you take 20 on your Perception, so its 23(25).
Everyone looking around the room can see, out of the four eastern windows, a small boat tethered to the end of the walkway on the South side of the building, which curves around to go on the opposite side of the boat itself. One of the staircases leads directly upstairs to a door, while another flight of stairs to the South leads to two doors, so that all three of the passages are spaced more or less equally on the next floor.
The goblin, in the meantime, still looks to puzzled, and he says “ORC! GLORK MILCONIC LAMASHTU PONK DOLAK KIKIK QUILTAK FLARK!”
Liandra Nightwind
Liandra looks up from her dilligent search.
"Y'know what, I think the little bastard's stalling. We're wasting time and he's keeping us in this room for whatever reason.
"Finish him and let's move." She looks to the others, "Unless anyone else has a better idea."
Algret Durthane
"Little one, I would talk if I were you...I do not think my words will stop either Skazz or Liandra this time"
Algret walks over and starts dividing loot into 5 nice neat piles equal to 19 gp and 9 sp each.
"Does anyone want to double check my counting? I think it looks pretty fair...."
