I've read on various forums here that Nick is leaving Paizo after GenCon and moving to the UK. Anyone have the scoop as to why?

Grand Lodge

He got a job at the university to lead the World Theater Program. That's what I read at Sinister

Wow! Thanks for the update.

Congrats, Nicolas! The rpg world will miss you, not to mention your cannibalistic ogres!

Dark Archive

Damn shame for us but sounds like an awesome opportunity. Hopefully he remembers to take a few essential DnD/Pathfinder books with him! =)

Dark Archive

Good luck, Mr. Logue!
I wish you the best at your new job, and hope that it leaves you time to still write some freelance goodness and some sinister books!

Sinister games isn't dying though, is it?

I mean, that's his company. Boy, man I'd hate to see that company go away. Nick was putting out brilliant stuff!!

Congrats though, on your new gig!

I hope it works out well for you!

Sovereign Court

He said on the Sinister forums that he'd still be doing Sinister Adventures.

Paizo Employee Director of Narrative

And he'll still be freelancing. No one has lost out. His wonderful adventures are still going to be reaching out to the dark parts of your games for a long while to come.

As it's a British university I'd assume that he'll be leading the World Theatre Programme. :b

Do we know which university Nic is heading to?

I know it's not that kind of doctor but still, "Dr. Logue"! It sends shivers down my spine.

"Dr. Logue will see you know, sorry about all of the blood, and eviscera, and rusty chains; he's just finished a... difficult piece of surgery."

Sovereign Court

Congrats, Nic, and good luck! It was great hanging out with you at the con!

Congrats Nick.

Hmm, Essex is the last name of Mr. Sinster. Amusing coincidence, non?

Nick:
You have to visit Ely and make Jason jealous by emailing him pictures of the cathedral there, with its octagonal tower.... :D
(The view from the top, on a clear day, is amazing)

Welcome to Blighty, Mister Logue.

Why aren't you working? Are you on holiday Snort-ster?

Not at all; I am indeed back at work, in my new office, but the powers-that-be have declined to provide me with access to the systems I need.

They have, however, fixed me up with internet access.

Oh, happy day.

Dark Archive

Congrats Nic, and thank you for all the fish (Dajobas)!

Hope to see more of your works soon on the Paizo pages, and can't wait for RC from your very own Sinister!

Rock!

Liberty's Edge

Wow, I didn't realize it was "Dr." Logue.

Good luck Nic and congrats!

Thanks everyone! I'm super pumped to be taking up the reins of the World Theatre Programme (it is indeed spelled that way!).

Fear not though, I couldn't live with myself without putting out at least a few dastardly adventures a year. Sinister will continue and in fact, with a little more time on my hands now, it should become far more active. In addition I also have a few freelance projects coming my way from Paizo. For one, I'm writing two Pathfinder Society Scenarios right now, and soon I'll be lending me evil quill to some other projects as well.

See you all in Engerland!

Liberty's Edge

Best of luck to you Nic, and best of all thanks for sticking around to write for the game when you can!

Enjoy your new job to the fullest!

Since GenConUK, we do!!! And we're very happy to have Nick. Great guy!

Sovereign Court

As I joked on the last day of the Con, clearly no one in the Home Office has read Hook Mountain Massacre!

So Nick, do you get to write and direct plays in your new job? Cause Golarion certainly has plenty of play material in it!

Mnaaaaaaaaaaaaar!!!!

And that's the response I expected to see. :)

On the other hand, if we could convince Greg to move to the UK (leave the family here, we like them) he, Pett, and Logue could stick to churning out a greater quantity.

Scarab Sages

Best of luck, Nic! We hardly knew ye as OP Coordinator.

The Exchange

ARGH!

From a completely selfish perspective, that's the worst news I've heard all day. Can I at least hold out hope that your presence at future Iron DM events will not be lost?

The rest of me is quite happy for you as your advancement continues. You're a singularly talented and crazy individual (which I mean in the best possible way) so you deserve everything you get.

Also good to hear that the adventure writing will not cease, and may in fact be expanded!

Cheers to ya, mate!

Hey, they forgot to mention Sinister Adventures in Dr. Logue's bio. Give 'em Hell, Yank. :-)

Congrats! G~~%@~n, I used to live in Suffolk... now I live in Yorkshire. Too far to bother you with discussions of Irish theatre... :D

Congrats Nick!
Keep in touch!

Congratulations, Nick!

Sovereign Court

Congrats Nick.

Silver Crusade

Oh man, congratulations!

Give that there English theatre a taste of the ol' Grand Guignol, will ya?

The Exchange

Congrats! And gee, that hurts too! Shocking news to be sure, on par with the usual Paizo eye-pop value. Sure will miss you on the inside.

Never fear! I'll be EVERY Gencon. I'll never miss. I love it too much. Iron DM shall continue and will GROOOOOWWWWW! Expect a Sinister presence at Gencon next year too. Tons of events at least! A booth at most! Either way, we'll all be rocking and rolling the dice together, regardless of my move to Pett-land...ugh...I can't believe I'll be breathing the same air as him.

Unfortunately whenever I see the title of this thread I start humming "Candle In The Wind" which is annoying because (1) it's Candle in the Wind, and (2) "Nicolas" has a syllable too many and needs to become either "Nic'las" or "Nicky".

Glad to hear it, or we'd be sending the ogre boys around....

Essex university isn't all that far from one of my clients. If it wasn't for my workload I'd already be volunteering my time as a playtester- lol !!

<Hmm...now I think aobut it, my company doesn't need their business that bad... :-)>

Given the reputation of Essex boys and girls, one can't help wondering if that's where you got the ogrekin idea from ...

More seriously : sounds like a great position you're taking up - best of luck with it.

Try "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."

I think Summer Is Icumen In would be more appropriate...
