PR found here.
Lone Wolf Development is pleased to announce that Hero Lab will support Paizo Publishing’s upcoming Pathfinder RPG. The Pathfinder RPG, built upon the success of Paizo’s acclaimed Pathfinder Adventure Path series, covers new changes and additions to the d20 System rules.
Hero Lab will fully support Paizo’s refinements to the d20 system, including a host of new feats and spells, updated options for all core classes, and hundreds of new items, both magical and mundane. Hero Lab support for the Pathfinder RPG will become available shortly after the release of the planned Beta edition, due out at GenCon Indy this August.
Updates to Hero Lab's Pathfinder RPG support will be released as necessary throughout the playtest period. Following publication of the finalized Pathfinder RPG, final Hero Lab data files will be made available.
Hero Lab will also continue to support the Adventure Path series content via ongoing updates.

HERE is a screenshot of the D20 screen. If you want to make any level of character it is way easy. It lets you know if you haven't filled all of your feat slots, skill points, if you've used too many, etc. I've made NPCs for games in no time flat with this software. Well worth the purchase.

It doesn't just stop at character generation either. Hero Lab includes several tools to help track your game as well - there's a dashboard to help you keep up with PCs and an initiative tracker.
The best part about it, though, is that you have the ability create your own database and add your own material - I have a few of the RPG Superstar Wondrous Items added to mine.

When I'm asked to bring a PC to a game that starts at higher level than first, Hero Lab is the tool I use to generate my character data and record my character backstory. In advance of the game I export the data to files and send them to the GM in advance of play. The data is pretty robust, including equipment and associated weight, much like PC Gen but with a slightly more appealing GUI.
Obviously I recommend this tool for those interested in a quick, similar experience.
The chief designers of Hero Lab were at Origins this year. I was thrilled to hear them explain that they were very aware and supportive of PAIZO's efforts.
Here is evidence of what can happen when a community steps up and supports a particular system. Other companies looking to support the gaming community will follow US! One of PAIZO's tag lines is "Its YOUR world now." Thank you all for taking this to heart.
I appreciate the OP for announcing this news to this community. Thanks, Joela.

I sent an e-mail to them, but have yet to hear a response.
If I buy the product now, will it support Pathfinder when the BETA comes out? Will I have to buy another copy of the software when Pathfinder RPG comes out?
Do I buy the Pathfinder version from the beginning, or if I buy the program does it work with all games they currently support?
If anyone knows, that would greatly influence my decision.

Each game system is licensed seperately. You have to buy the program and get 1 lecensed data set for free. Additional data sets, i.e. Vampire, Mutants & Masterminds, etc cost $20. I currently have the d20 dataset but when they offer the dataset will purchase the Pathfinder dataset.
I think they do this so they can pay the correct amount to the gaming companies for their usage.

I may end up getting this. I try to use reliable PC generators for any NPC stat blocks I do. The reason is because computers are a lot more reliable at remembering things like bonus spells, synergy bonuses, and feat granted bonuses, especially when I'm trying to generate them quickly. I know for a fact that I'm not alone in this.

One final question for anyone that knows... How easy is it to add custom features to the data set? For example, adding a homebrew race or feat?
Specifically of concern are races/creatures that gain abilities as they gain levels. For instance, a nymph (iirc) adds her HD to level of druid to determine druid level, or a half-fiend gets more spell-like abilities if they have enough HD. Those kinds of things are very difficult in a program like DM Genie.

I've found it pretty easy to add custom features. You can start from scratch or clone an existing feature and modify it. You can even modify templates (i.e. monster templates) and such. There are also detailed help guides in their webpage and on their forum.

The forums on the Lone Wolf Development site didn't have much to say on this, but does anyone know if there's going to be a Mac version of Hero Lab at any point soon?

This makes me all sorts of ridiculous happy. I talked to the Lone Wolf crew at GenCon a couple years ago and bought the early beta and was really impressed with the direction their product was taking. I pretty much use Hero Lab for most of my 3.5 character creation now.
They've recently finished up the first usable M&M dataset, which works out really well... and the idea that they're taking on the PfRPG as well is great!
