This artist needs some serious critques. C'mon - human proportion is first symester art school stuff.

Does he have a tiny head?
Or is it just that he has a huge body?
Giants and humans can interbreed. Surely a society such as Andoran would be accepting of their offspring. They would be valuable additions to the military.
I accept my No-Prizes in printed and electronic form, Paizo staff.
You joke, but that is about right for the proportions of a half-giant. Yeef. Half-giants are BAD news, too. Powerful build, strength bonus, stomp ability, no penalties to mental stats. The only thing scarier than a freight train barreling towards you is a SMART freight train barreling towards you.

Yes, this is the third thread about this guy and I really can't understand why Paizo uses this picture again and again. It's done really well, but the dispropotion is a serious error. There is so much great art in the PFs and modules, so why does a flawed piece like this show up again and again? It kinda ruined the backcover of the Gaz for me, because everyone that looked at my copy (even non-roleplayers) mentioned how wrong it looks and how bad it's done. And what's most sad is the fact, that it's really well done besides the disproportion. Why not resize the head using Photoshop or something?

I know that guy. He was doing commercials for OS/2 back when that was released.

As far as I know, they're known as "ogres" on Golarion. (I think that's from Classic Monsters Revisited)

Oh my god, it's Blaine the Mono! Quick, someone ask it why the baby crossed the road!
Do Andoran ducks shrink in the cold?
Like a frightened turtle!!

The art looks good. The figure's great. the uniform is cool and memorable.
The artist clearly made the head small as design choice, not because of a lack of skill. And it's a good choice. It makes the Andoran guy's body look larger without having a background to compare it to.
I don't know who the artist is, but I hope Paizo throws more work his way in the future.

Sorry, but this doesn't make sense to me. I can't understand how messing up the proportions can be a good design choice. His hands are as big as his head. It makes him look like a freak. I agree that the picture is otherwise done really, really well. The uniform is great and I like the artist's style too, but this head-thing just went wrong... The lack of a background doesn't justify this choice, if it was done with intent. You don't need a background or mess with the porportions to make him look strong, as you can clearly see in the illustrations of the iconics without any background in the alpha rules.

I was thinking it was drawn by an artist who seems to like trying to sneak in japanese manga style art in a US company's fantasy setting.
I believe said artist, Andrew Hou, is Korean, so it would make sense that his art style would reflect the influences that he most likely grew up with: manga, or most likely manhwa in this instance. Both art styles, like American comic books, have exaggerated proportions.
