Well the Paizo Ptolus Minis were rebranded as Pathfinder and now this. Adding Monte's sage advice and ideas to an already super talented group and a wonderful product line certainly makes the 800 Pound Gorilla seem a little less daunting..
1. Ramp up the pre-painted mini's!! Someone get Reaper on the phone.
2. We need an official pathfinder Podcast!! <
3. This website needs some serious work!! It's a great store, lets transition part of it to more of a community and content based site.
4. Get Wolfgang and his little rag on as the official Monthly mag!
5. Get someone working on the board game!!

1) Disagree, 2) Disagree, 3) Strongly Disagree, 4) Agree, 5) What?
That's the thing about community - we don't all agree.

1. Disagree, Pre-painted is no fun, I like painting my minis
Give us the option of painted or unpainted. My eye sight isn't what it use to be, and my hands shake to much now days. ;o(
2. As long as it doesn't take away time from the creative team it would be fine
Agreed
3. Fixing the long post eating bug and the invisible post bug would be nice.
agreed... then add some additional functionality.
4. is that Kobold Quarterly? I have to subscribe to that.
Ditto
5. Que?
Ditto again.

1. I can use a few minis, but it would sell better to me if they were in a set linked to the Pathfinder adventures, maybe with a seperate box of iconics.
2. Meh, I might care if I were a pod person.
3. The website could use a few features, but also works without them. Besides, if Paizo added them, impatient folks would go behind their backs and design 3.A (3. alternate pathfinder).
4. No, fool! They need to hire ME to work on their monthly Pathfinder magazine. MUWHAHAHAHAHAHA! (Seriously, I'm too busy to do more than a few pages a month, they want a full-timer.)
5. Why do we need a boardgame when there's a minis game out there? Just put the stat cards out in pdf format, and let the wargamers have their fun.
Honestly, it's exciting to think that Monte Cook is going to change the face of the game for the better. Two words - backwards compatibility. Change too many parts of a running engine, and it explodes. I'd rather see Pathfinder succeed; make the changes at whatever pace and priority works.

I've never painted a mini in my life, and most of the decent painters I know have stopped painting and switched to pre-painted. Most of the folks I game with think pre-painted minis make better "gaming toys", while painted minis are more art pieces that you don't want to mess up.
Podcasts seem like an interesting idea, but I've never actually listened to one, despite the fact that I'm curious to hear what the Irregular Webcomic guy sounds like.
The website pretty much works for me the way it is. I suppose an "Official Pathfinder wiki" would be a great tool for looking up the answers to questions about the setting and the adventures. But I'm not sure if it makes sense for Paizo. If all the answers were in the wiki, would anyone need to buy the books? And all the time spent on the wiki would be time away from other work.

For the record I would love to hear Jason or some of the other folks at Paizo sit down and talk about Pathfinder for 1/2 an hour a week. I am a rideshare hostage everyday to and from work. My roommate likes radio, I don't, so I listen to podcasts about 25 hours a week. Mostly Tech and Gaming. A few of the latter in the Spoiler if you care to look.

Well...
1. Please do get reaper on the phone, they do the best miniatures. They could do some specific Pathfinder minis to go with their already great lineup. And I like to paint (when I find the time), most prepainted miniatures trigger my gag reflex...
2. Podcasts... not for me. But feel free to indulge :)
3. Any site could use some work / organization and I suspect increased traffic is going to push their current site into rehab.
4. Continued support for 3E / PF in Kobold Quarterly would be great. I still haven't forgiven WotC for canning the print edition of my favorite mag. And I will not patronize that 4E online rag they are replacing it with. Paizo did a great job with Dragon. I have almost every Dragon printed (and a few Strategic Reviews as well) and had looked forward to continuing the collecting for years to come. Be curious to see how the KQ goes (4E or OGL). *crosses fingers and chants OGL, OGL...*
5. I can miss the boardgame. Some nice tabletop miniature rules (that don't center around WotC's pre-painted minis) would be nice.

Ramp up the pre-painted mini's!!
thats what ebay is for... and trading sites... but i agree that non random is better... I'm just starting painting, and 'm not going to be workingo n the paizo ones for a while... (i just got like 25 paints and brushes and minis to practice on from the clearance sale)

psymin wrote:And every other path. I am not a mini painter and love the new plastic pre-painted ones. Please let's have a new line of these.. I would buy them all and several of others.1. Agree, I'd love to buy a box of pre-painted figs for RotR or CotCC :)
While I like the occasional minis to paint - I in fact ordered a number of PF minis the other day - I also really like pre-painted minis, because I like to have a bigger selection than I could paint.
The Paizo people have said several times that they're looking at ways to do them, but they haven't found anything that would work (it's said that plastic minis have high fixed costs, so you'd have to sell a lot of them, and I guess right now they couldn't do it).
That having been said: I like the idea of asking Reaper what they think of it. It seems that their Legendary Encounters line does well enough to keep making them, so it works for them.
I just don't know whether they could/would do PF minis. One advantage of Legendary Encounters is that they can use existing sculpts - for PF, it's likely they'd have to do new ones, I don't know whether they'd do that, or if it was feasible for them.
And I don't know whether Crocodile has the resources to go into plastic.
Still, I hope something changes so pre-painted plastic (or something similar, whatever that could be) becomes cheap enough to run for smaller runs. Or Pathfinder sweeps 4e away, millions of fans start going on the streets for PPPPM (pre-painted plastic pathfinder minis), and they become feasible with things as they are now.
