Snarky observation by my daughter, "Princess/Sorceress"
(And no. I DON'T know where she gets the snark from. I still have ALL of mine, thank you.)

(Sitting on her bed, laptop on the lap-desk in front of her, doing her College work, or as she calls it "Corona University")

Princess- "This has got to be the LONGEST game of 'Cooties' EVER!"

<Reads Seph's post in main thread>

Justin- "Oooooh, Snap!"
;P

LOL!

Pat- NICE scene man! Nicely done.

And a tantalizing peek into the life of Murphy too. :)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

It came together well. Sensate sense crystals aren’t common (you’d pay about 10K gold for one) , but a great way to do a flashback. Just don’t lose it!

There is some sort of vessel wrecked at the ‘waters’ edge, a most strange vessel, like a large metal tube with a smaller cabin on top bristling with unidentifiable instruments. The entire vessel seems to be made of gold, or at least painted yellow. In the glare of this energy ocean it is hard to see.

Just gonna leave this here

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Lol. Yeah, maybe that Easter Egg wasn’t so subtle.

One of my favorite movies from college. We didn’t have cable my senior year, and the only VHS we owned was Yellow Submarine. I can still quote large portions of that movie.

I mean, it's Planescape, it fits.

That’s the magic of Planescape. Everything fits. I can send you to Barsoom. Or Westeros, or to the Tower of the Lady. You can meet King Arthur or Sinbad. I can reskin almost anything to make it work in this setting.

OK, how is it that you just named MOST of my favorite things as a young(er) person, all in one sentence?

Growing up I loved the Barsoom novels, King Arthur tales, and I LOVED the Sinbad movies. ALL of them.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Maybe because we’re both old , lol

The fantasy landscape was a lot narrower when we were kids

True, but it was ALL awesome!
:)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

True. I have certain nostalgia for the classics.

Of course I revel in the Golden Age of Geekdom we now inhabit. It is somewhat gratifying to see my living choices taking over the cultural landscape. I’m not a nerd, I’m just forward thinking!

HAH! I'm having trouble remembering too! ;P

I believe it was to try and obtain a special Ioun Stone for Hamar, (exactly what powers I cant recall offhand) ;P

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

I believe you were looking for a top-tier ioun stone to assist Hamar in making his Will saves.

Patrick Curtin wrote:

THAT was it! Thanks!

Hamar expressed an interest in never falling under the effects of a mental control again.

(I don't blame him!) ;P

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

It’s going to become more and more of an issue. All you gotta do is horse trade with Pando .,.,,

If all he's worried about is falling to mind-affecting effects, I could just turn him into a wight.

And I need a facepalm emoji ;P

By the way all,
I apologize if it seems like I'm trying to take over the conversation(s) lately.
I have been spending more time than usual at my desk, so I have been checking in more often.

I'll try to make sure I'm not jumping on anyone's toes! :)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Not mine! You can see the sidequests are getting quite lengthy

And enjoyable! (Thank you!) :)

And here I was worrying that you would think I was trying to force my way into the spotlight (I really just don't have much else to do).

Me too! You guys might end up there at some point. Or its Pathfinder equivalent

I'm going to be honest here: I lost the notes on this ring at some point. I have a vague Idea what it is, but what did I specifically tell you? In particular, did anyone ever do a thorough check? Just don't want to misquote the abilities I assigned it

Oh I liked it just fine. It was actually (pretty?) close to the book.

Certainly better than the FIRST attempt they made a few years prior,
(PRINCESS of MARS, starring Traci Lords) ;P

HAmars ring? The one that gives him the heebie-jeebies?

I think I still have that info,.... <Checks his scattered notes>

OK, NOT in my personal notes, but found THIS back a few pages ago.

Says +2 Str & Dex, and you added infravison as well.

Yeah that's it. When Hamar said it added Stealth, I couldn't recall giving it that. So +2 str/dex and 60' Darkvision.

Heh,
I discovered Paizo threads have SEARCH! ;)

Erm, Point of detail?

Since Memnon has been WAY too silent for this trip,
(And I can imagine that he might find talking to something he would just consider a larger version of himself passe') ;P
Am I to presume that Memnon decided he didn't want to come along on this trip?
I'm OK either way,. Just trying to decide whether or not to add in snarky sidekick comments or not. ;)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

No he came with you. He was just looking at the barmaid, remember?

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Or are you talking about the mineral plane? I have assumed he’s been with you, but he really doesn’t have a lot of offensive capabilities so he’s just been floating nearby with his new orange hat on, taking in the sights.

LOL, yeah, 1 chat thread, two action threads LOL

I meant on the mineral plane. OK all good.

(OI that hat!) ;P

I'm for it.

I remember seeing that one in the theater with a bunch of professional illustrators, a couple of which were real old-timers. We were the only ones there, and it was a real trip hearing the art history of the universe in real-time as the film played out.

Hippocras turns out to be a spiced red wine, with slices of several citrus fruits and cherries floating in it. Justin detects notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

I make my own from time to time. If you add fruit, it ends up more like sangria, so I usually forgo that in favor of a little honey and extra cloves. Got a bit of a bite, but doesn't get you drunk unless you chug the whole pitcher.

Unrelated: currently looking for things to distract me from the fact that I'm a newly-unemployed 33-year-old college sophomore with borderline-crippling [redacted] and no personal life other than a half-finished indie rock project.

Recently, I've been in touch with the team leader over at Uncanny Eye Illustration & Design (which 100% isn't me, trust me Corporate America).

After their people put out these OK portraits of my Silver Rose character, I've been thinking--

My associates are just as much out of the loop as I am; anyone interested in character illustrations free of charge?

Offer extends to characters from this PbP only (don't worry, I'll fill them in, just give me the details).

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Well, if you feel like some projects, I have some NPCs:

There’s Hanali, the socialite half elf/half aasimar who works as Renkar’s secretary. She’s easy, just blonde and beautiful and dressed in high-end dresses and jewels.

Melchezidek looks a lot like a middle aged scarred George Kennedy . He wears battered plate mail with Baatorian Foreign Legion markings and carries a big mean looking mace. What the BFL uses for their heraldry? Probably infernal glyphs and a skewered demon head, most likely. But that’s negotiable, I haven’t given it much thought.

Memnon is a purple crystal skull with orange eyes. He now wears a Jayne hat.

Renkar looks like the Dos equis spokesman. He is usually in rich clothing, but he has an air of toughness about him. He’s upper middle aged, in his fifties with grey hair and a trimmed beard.

Well if you feel like doing a pic of Merle here you go Merle (that but with brown hair) or her origonal outfit

Merle older (could maybe mix the two styles together somehow?)

Hey, If your bored, I'm always up for a pic of Justin!

Hamar is a tall Human, standing 6’5’ but think and wiry weighing only 165 lbs. He is lightning quick on his feet and thinks just as quickly. He is quick to anger and slow to understand life lessons as his mouth often leads him into trouble. The right and left side of his head is shaved leaving a long mane of hair that flows down his back similar to the hair on a Hyenas back. His eyes burn with a light brown intensity to match his skin. From the numerous battles has has fought, his body is a criss-cross of wounds and scars.

I think that the face on his Avatar is perfect...
