At the Copper Cauldron Isaac can’t help but grin at the sight of his old comrades, despite the somber occasion. Back-slapping hugs, vigorous hand shakes and hard basher appropriate toughguy nods are exchanged, according to a cutter’s preference. He looks much the same despite his time out of the Rose- though he’s sporting a silly worker’s tan right across his face, dividing the more ruddy top half of his face from the more pale lower half of his face. His Godsmen badge is still prominently displayed on the shirt over his chain mail, but looking closely those that know him can see he’s not wearing his old ring anymore.

”Well cutters, it’s a sad antipeak but at least we’re all together to bid Rhiannon farewell on the way to her next link in the chain.... or to the Powers she revered.”

During the viewing, he briefly grasps Rhiannon’s forearm before sadly returning to the company.

Special guest appearance! :-)

Wow, that was quite the hook!

I've noticed that sometimes, especially in PbP, it just seems so difficult to go back and make sure you picked up the things that you didn't grab the first time. (Like you would in a video game!) :)

I'm pretty sure that you dropped a similar thing for me once, the whole "Justin couldn't find Murphy, and heard a rumor that she took a squad to hunt a vampire nest" thing.
I always MEANT to go back and pick that up, just,... kept missing it.
(I guess in Game time it hasn't been THAT long, a week or two, but it seems so long ago now,...) :)

I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get to play out that Karrin/Isaac romance thing, or at least play it out till Isaac noticed, but we had some great times and it was great getting to RP with you. Thanks for stopping by again!

Ok. I forgot the side quest before Erelhi-Cinlu. Do we still want to go traveling to the Paraelemental Plane of Mineral?

Yup! I thought that was the plan!

(Also, I DO plan to finally, eventually, update my PC sheet and equipment list, both purchased and made. Stupid RL stuff getting on the way!) :P

Speaking of RL getting in the way,... Did I mention, yet, that I have been recruited to be in TWO musicals? This Spring, with overlapping rehearsal dates? :P

I am NOW in both Music Man (A quartet member, problem is the LAST 2 times I did this show, I was the BASS or Marcelleus, NOW I'm doing the Tenor. DO you have ANY idea how long it has been since I tried to read Treble cleff?!?)
>_<

The other show is Xanadu, the musical.
Fortunately it is NOT a 'Musical of the movie',
It is 'A Musical making FUN of the movie"!

These, plus my usual work-load at the auditorium, should reduce what few brain cells I have left to Jell-O by May.
At least I wont have to worry about my hair going Grey(er),
it will be LONG gone by then! :P

Happy hump day!

OK - back from Cancun in one piece. I’m prepping the Mineral run. I’m going to see what else is going on for prep from you guys, and do a final headcount to see where we are at for participation.

I am headed to NYC this weekend, through Tuesday. I’ll likely update, I can’t see why I wouldn’t.

Let’s get moving!

Welcome back Traveling Pat!
(Or would that be 'Traveling Monkey'?)

Either way,... Lets roll!

Heh, the guy directing Music Man told me after rehearsal last night,...
He was going home to pack,
After school on Friday (He teaches HS) he was jumping on a plane to NYC.
Sat he plans on catching two shows, (hadn't heard of either)
FLying back Sunday morning, going to rehearsal,...

I'm SO jealous, I wanna take a weekend trip to NYC and see shows! ;P

I could do it, if it weren't for that whole pesky money thing,... :(

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Money is always an issue, but I’ve found if you skimp on certain things, you can make wonders happen. I pulled Cancun off for about $1,000 including airfare. I ate a lot of peanut butter sandwiches. NYC will run about $700 all told. I’m taking a Greyhound, so travel is fairly easy. I’ll be eating ramen this next month, but it’s worth it.

OK- a few things to do for your party

Mineral plane needs - you need smoked glass goggles for the party - it gets blindingly bright. Alessia needs a Null Stone - basically a negative energy version of the stones you used on the Negative Energy Plane. If she talked to Mara I’m sure she could hook her up. The rest of you will be OK as long as you don’t leap into Radiance itself - an overload of life energy can be pretty harmful. Imagine the old B movie Reanimator at the end where the overdose of the serum makes that one dead body go all super nawsty and sprout intestine tentacles.

There are a lot of different needs, and remember when you go there that gold and silver are not worth much (though not worthless- just common). There are vast riches, but the natives take a very dim view of people that start mining without permission. It’s their ecosystem, and they face many threats from other planes.

Hint: organic items are exotic.

LOL, if it werent for the whole 'NO-CARB' thing I'm on right now, I could still eat Ramen, I actually used to LIKE that stuff. ;)

(Granted, when I was a college kid there wasn't much I couldn't/wouldn't eat!) ;P

Yeah I get your point, I think its a matter of deciding to do it (whatever it is) and then make it happen.

If you REALLY want to go do something special, then you dont go eat out all the time. Its amazing how much money you can save if you want to.

We just get way too accustomed to having our nice things,
(I keep SWEARING that we will STOP going out to eat AT ALL, except for very special occasions, to help with our constant cash drain, but there's ALWAYS an excuse to go do it. And taking a family of four to even a fast food joint is getting ridiculously expensive!)
>_<

Thanks for reminding me that it CAN be done! :)

Cool, thx for the tips! :)

SO,...
-Smoked goggles for the party, cuz bright. (Can buy or prolly make with Alchemist Memnon's help)
-Alessia needs a NULL STONE, (or at least needs to 'borrow' one for this trip) (Ask Mara? Nicely?) ;P
-Watch your step! ;P
-We need trade goods or something cool to trade with, that doesn't come easily to the ALL- mineral plane. :)
Ideas?
Fruits/veggies?
Small cute critters? ;)

Exotic woods would sell well. Of course they are at a premium in Sigil as well. ....

I do wish I had the money to eat out. DC has a fantastic food scene, and going to NYC there are literally thousands of options. But, I can’t do everything at once.

It’s hard with a family in tow. You’ll eventually get to the empty nest phase, and one of the benefits is you get to do more things YOU want to do, rather than hAving to think about how the kids will react.

I am still digging out from financial issues myself. Hopefully by 2021 or 2022 things will be a bit settled. Of course, until my daughter is out of college I will always have some portion of my income going towards her needs.

It's funny that you mention the food scene Patrick. I have the same problem living in Montclair NJ and working in NYC. Plenty of great places to try and not enough cash to do so. Although, with my restricted eating these days for health its probably for the best anyway :-)

LOL, yeah with my 'Keto' diet it;s not like Im suppose to eat most foods anyway! ;P
(Doesn;t stop me, I just have to be picky, and careful) ;)

Empty nest phase,... I long to discover the joys of such things.
Of course, I'M the perfect example of the kids that never really left (Better than my siblings anyway, who live next DOOR to my mom!) ;P

Actually I DID leave. Several times. it's just that I kept going BACK for various reasons, (divorce, Hurricane Katrina,... etc) :)

Actually, since I work at a University, if my kids go there, (and my daughter does!) I get a discount to their tuition. A SUBSTANTIAL discount.
(So of COURSE, my SON has decided he wants to go to a 'Real College')
>_<

I swear, sometimes he does make me wanna go all Homer Simpson on him. ;P

<Facepalm>

Um,... after all our adventures, don't we have 'friends' and contacts in various places, like a few that, Oh I dont know,

LIVE ON THE FRIGGIN' WORLD-TREE?!?
O_o

Maybe if we asked nicely, THEY might could hook us up with some 'rare & Exotic wood'?
:)
Just a thought, I mean I'm NOT gonna chop down Yggdrasil, but surely even a fallen branch of such a tree is very valuable elsewhere?
:)

EDIT- Ooooooooo!
Justin knows what he wants to make his first staff out of! :D

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Lol. Yggdrasil, as you might imagine, has lots of wood to spare. Also, the World Tree is so vast that in certain places ‘lesser’ trees grow in Her bark valleys

And living with a parent as an adult is different. For instance you’re under no obligation to go places together or pay for things. Heck, you’re getting free rent, right?

How would the constant Positive energy affect channeling/Lay on hands? Or will that be a surprise?

I would have to look that up, but I think it gives a boost iirc.

Well, the Empire State Building is still standing, so I guess I’m not Kong. Just your average simian

Or you were having a very good day? ;)

Like 'Monkey Santa', I'm betting that there is nothing 'average' about our 'DM Monkey'.

Monkey Santa? That’s a new one on me. Does he put poop in children’s stockings?

LOL, probably, (Pretty sure, actually) among MANY other things that he does.
;P

Santa Monkey (Monkey Santa?) is a stuffed critter of Quibblemuch I believe? He often times posts links in the chat thread with photos and conversation depicting Monkey Santa's most recent escapades.

His latest/greatest/Epic involved faking his own death, (complete with white stuffing everywhere), Framing the family's new dog for it, having the Life insurance money forwarded to an offshore account, changing his name to 'Kringle Simian, Esq.', and getting caught by Quibble on the beach sipping Banana Brandy.

That pretty much sums up Monkey Santa right there. ;P

So at the Port Authority now. A bit early, but better early than the opposite. I was hoping for sunnier weather and I would have run around Times Square for a bit, but such was not to be. Still, what a weekend!

Saturday: Saw the Frick and the Natural History museums and hung out with Celestisl Healer and FreeholdDM. Went to Bonchon, Juniors Delicatessen, and saw Birds of Prey at a really cool venue

Sunday: Went to the Brooklyn Museum, and then played board games all evening with baron Arem Heshauvn (sp?) a long-time poster , and Tim Hitchcock of Kingmaker AP fame.

Monday: Shopped at the Compleat Strategist and Murray’s Cheeses (Google them!) Had lunch with Storyteller Shadow and he arranged for me to climb the Empire State Building. Then went to see Mr Bungle - Mike Patton, Scott Ian, and Dave Lombardo all in one setting. I literally got hit with one of Dave Lombardo’s drumsticks (I was too slow to grab it though

Rolling out with a few dollars left and a song in my heart. Such a great time!

ROFL!
Awesome!
Sounds like a good time to me!

OK- any magic utilizing positive energy is automatically maximized (as the feat) so healing and the like is greatly enhanced.

Also, you miiiight want to invest in heavy gloves and leather clothing. Crystals can be very sharp....

Ugh. Huge post went missing :/

Oh well, I’ve three hours of bus travel to redo it

<Facepalm> Ouch.
I HATE it when that happens!

That's why (usually, I still mess up sometimes) when I realize that I'm going to do one of my infamously-long posts, I just write it all out in a word .doc instead, and then copy/paste.

Cuz it never seems to fail, I'll take too much time or something, and it loses everything when you hit 'post' or even ' preview'. ;P

And I KNOW it's gonna happen! Yet I still always tell myself "No need to go to all the trouble of opening a document, this won't take long,...'

;P

Silly Post-Monster, long posts are for READING, not EATING!
