Hey Patrick, one of my local friends has been hearing me talk about your two games. He wanted me to ask if you would consider adding another player to either game. He's an experienced GM and player, so he'll understand if either you or the other players don't want to mess with the mix at this time.
I'll post this over at the other discussion thread as well, so all can read. I'm really not sure which he wants to join. He's only registered on the paizo site today, with the handle 'Cromanganon'.

Honestly I don't really think this would be a problem. I will open it up to debate to the group though, as I always feel something like this should be a consensus. Does anyone mind Niel's friend coming in?

F*&king Thread Monster! Here's take #2
I have no problems with new PCs, I just ask that the new player have a quick read through the relevant threads and a glance over the character sheets before designing their character. I'm looking to avoid any unnecessary character conflicts and hoping to encourage making an easy fit.
This is your ship Patrick (and your doing a fine job of running it BTW!) and if you don't mind the extra work then I see no reason for anyone to complain.
Patrick Curtin
I don't think it will be much of a problemo. I am getting more comfy with the rules (especially the whole using the computer as a DM ubertool). I am also pretty much on the comp when not at work since my wife is pulling long hours ATM. If he's still interested Niel ask him in!
niel
I'll get ahold of him. Hopefully, he's getting caught up with the story line. Should I be steering him to A. Jihad, or do you want to offer a space here (in spite of possible previous alternates)? He didn't mention a preference on Tues, when I last saw him. I did notice he has a profile up. (under Cromaganon)
At worst, I'll see him on Saturday. He's in a Pathfinder playtest I'm running in the afternoon, and he'll be running L5R Sat night.
Patrick Curtin
I think we can offer him a space in either. I will contact the others who were looking at a space in Silver Rose if he has a preference for this game and offer them a slot too. It seems that PbP can support more folks that a meat game can anyway, and at this point I have enough free time to adjucate a lot of individual actions.

Just lurking....
You were one of the alts I was just thinking of Rad. If you want I can make room, but I know you are involved in many ATM. I think FabesMinis also expressed some interest as did Rev Rosey. If any of y'all are lurking about gimmie a shout. If there is a lot of interest perhaps I will just split the game in two like Kayos did for hers. :)

All good in the hood bro. I am figuring that anyone on the US side of things is going to be busy this upcoming week what with Independence Day and the inevitable road trips/ BBQs/ blown off fingers from firecrackers brouhaha that inevitably follow. For those of you that do not reside in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave fear not, for your monkey host is not going anywhere, rather he will have even MORE time to peruse the boards and make up monkely goodness to you to guffaw over.

It's going to be busy on the Canadian side as well I think

je me souviens everywhere I look ... O.o
Odd that they'd be going south, there's a couple of big events in Quebec this weekend, Montreal is celebrating it's 400th birthday and I think the international Jazz fest might be this weekend as well. Although having them not celebrate Canada day isn't exactly shocking.

Yah. I've seen so many here lately I'm waiting for them to insist on bilingual signs. Course they'll have to get in line behind our Portugese/Brazillian community.

we don't have anyone with intimidate do we? There's really only a few ways we can get the information out of him, we can try multiple diplomacy checks to try to get him to helpful . . . which isn't likely or practical, or we can try tricking him into thinking we want information about something else, or tricking him into thinking that we already know more then we actually do.
PS: great game Patrick, I'm really enjoying it
Patrick Curtin
Thanks Guy for the praise, I'm glad you're enjoying the storyline.
I'm not sure what you all can do at this point with Stinky the Gobbo, save perhaps an Intimidate roll, but you are basically asking him to roll on his tribe, which will be tricky. The Charm Person was a good angle, but he made a good save, and as M.A.R Barker once said, "the dice never lie"
Honestly, I'm not sure what you will be able to get out of ol' Nurkrak with standard tactics, but there is always the option of waiting and trying Charm again later :)
EDIT: But you players always seem to come up with interesting tangental methods. Good call Niel/Greep.
Patrick Curtin
Yeah, in a meta-gamey way I had kinda hoped you would succeed with that Charm, just to push the story along. But I believe in letting the dice do their thing. Nurkrak probably succeeded because I subconciously wanted him to fail ..SIGH. I'll have to try the reverse psychology thing on my other rolls. :)

we could get the information we need with a successful bluff, maybe by making him think that we already have the information that we're asking him to divulge and tricking him into thinking that we want to know something else. Maybe we could trick him into thinking it's a case of mistaken identity and we're really after another tribe of goblins . . .
niel
Partick said as M.A.R Barker once said, "the dice never lie"
Thanks for the link. I followed it and found out I missed his last three books. (And the last version of the Tekumel game- but I already knew about that.) Time to order more fiction.
Patrick Curtin
No prob Niel, one reason I love linking is it cross-fertilizes the discussion and you never know where the linkage might lead. Personally, I have yet to read any of M.A.R. Barker's fiction, so many books, so little time, but I will hopefully get to them before I shuffle off to my next incarnation.

No worries. Things are a bit slow ATM, I am recovering from a bad case of bronchitis (KOFF) and Kruelaid is AWOL due to moving issues. I wrote up a big post for Zigel HERE down the page a bit. Post when you can.
Patrick Curtin
OK, been thinking over the next day's travails while battling the yardwork. It seems that everyone is split for now. My question is, until everyone gets what they want done, do we want to split up a bit more?
Karrin, you could train etiquette with Hanali, I think that could be interesting.
Greep you wanted to visit Lizzieville in the morning, correct?
Ffethpaar you can go with either or try something all your own.
Swift you seem to want to follow up on the Emelia side adventure, or perhaps look up your beau Skrint.
Zigel/Seeker is having connection problems, I have him safely ensconsed in a sidetrek already.
Kruelaid is still MIA with moving. I am going to assume Eir just goes to sleep until he returns.
Until everyone can get back on board perhaps we should just run some side adventures.
Crossposting this on game thread.

Here's what I'd do: theoretically it's only been a few days in campaign, and we're still right in the middle of our first job, but the Silver Rose Company might already be getting a couple of minor side jobs. These little jobs might occupy the MIA PCs for a few days while the active PCs continue working on the main plot . . . or the other way around, we work a couple of side jobs while the MIA guys continue working the main job.
There's tons of possibilities in a massive city like Sigil. Guarding people/things, escorting people/things, dealing with petty criminals, finding things/people, making things/people go away . . . etc.
The MIA PCs continue to do things, just off screen as it were, and are either successful or don't make any progress (depending on what they're doing and whatever better serves the story).

Also it's unlikely Karrin will sit down for speaking and etiquette lessons while there's still work to do . . . unless it was for a job. Maybe someone wants someone to infiltrate high society or act as an undercover agent or something, and with Eir busy elsewhere Karrin needs to learn how to act in high society so as to not attract attention to herself.

Actually I was thinking that Hanali could take Karrin and whoever wanted to come along for a little 'field trip' into the higher echelons of Sigilian society. Not actual training so much as familiarization. I would eventually like you guys to get embroiled in the complex web of Sigil politics, and having Karrin being able to act as an ingenue would further this along. Of course you'll have to figure what to do about the whole armor/big honking axe thing, not really formal dining fare.
