Tsuto's Journal pages

Rise of the Runelords

For my group I made the handout Tsuto journal pages for them. I think this gets the point across better than reading the handout. Let me know what you think.

The "Take me Tsuto" puts Tsuto's pesonality into a whole new light...

Great work Russell!

Wish I would have had this at the time. I might give it to my players for their scrap book..

That journel is bloody brilliant, I really hope you plan on doing more of the hand outs.

I wish I had access to it when I ran that part as it will add loads to any groups enjoyment.

I still maintain that a section for player aids on this official site would be brilliant, especially if we could rate them.

I am about to start running this AP and I thank you for your work on the journal. I will definitely use it.

Wow. I did something alot like this, but in an actual notebook, with more pages, but way more thrown together and rough. I tossed in a few little cartoons of Tzuto proudly posing with burthazmus' decapitated head, making out with nualia on a pile of skulls, and roasting marshmallows over a burning sandpoint. also sketches of orik and lyrie, and ripnugget, since tsuto seemed like a doodler.

But this is bloody brilliant. I really, really wish that I could have used this. you're a much better artist than me, for a start. I mean, damn...this is really, really good.

Should have had you for the funny stuff. I tried to stay very close to the handout in the book. Now I know why they invented marshmallows.

There's a lot of interest in that. We're told they like the idea when the time resources are avilable, but it's good to keep the comments coming.

Echoing: This is Bloody Brilliant. I can't wait to give it to my players...

The echo bounces a few more times with me. My PC just received Tsuto journal yesterday night. They will love to see in flesh it next Monday.

I love the tools that everybody is sharing, it really helps. I just completed 3 counter sheets that covers all the monsters of Burnt Offering and lots of NPCs.
You just have to print it on a WHITE FULL SHEET LABEL (Avery 5165/8165) ; apply it on cardboard (cereal box) and finally, take out a good XActo and cut the 170 counters.
Me and my players love to use those. Every PC has its own counter. Every encounter shows the real monsters on a real size counter (space&reach). And they are very cheap to make, a 10$ investment gives you 2000 counters (printing not included).
I would like to share that tool, I just need a place to store the .pdf file. Can somebody helps me help us?

My computer says the link doesn't work...

Scarab Sages

worked fine for me...

great job!

I'd love to help, but I'm utterly inept at that sort of thing. Sounds like a great tool, I'd be really interested in trying it out.

EDIT: I almost forgot, I am totally going to use that journal when I run my players through BO in a few months. Thanks for posting it!

You could try something like MediaFire or any of a number of other free hosting services.

Wow Russell, those journal pages are wonderful! I can't wait to see my players' reaction to them! Any chance you would be willing to create Handout #1 to accompany?

Brilliant indeed! Kudos!

Yikes, this is awesome.

I'm planning on taking a slightly different tack with Tsuto's journal, but this work is enough to make me consider ditching those plans just so I can use such a great handout.

Sure

Didn't do the handwriting again since mine looked like junk after a few lines. Here it is front and back.

Burnt Offerings Handout 1

Thanks for making those Russell!

Great posts Russell. Really useful and well done. I shall be proud to show hem to my players.

I'm starting the AP tomorrow night, and will incorporate both of your handouts in my campaign.

Thanks for posting!

Which font did you use for the first page? I want to recreate this only because the page wrinkles are printing very well...

The font is Alphabet of the Magi. Here it is.

Now I need to find one for the other languages in the game.

Excellent work on Tsuto's Journal.
thanks

Russell,

You are truly awesome. My players are going to love this stuff. I am so glad I came across your work - I had been privately griping about going through the process of trying to copy and print the handouts in an effective way, or just hacking them out of the .pdf's. I am going to totally rip off your style and use your work, as I don't really have the time to do this sort of thing. Once I did, but those days are gone.

I really impressed my players once by creating an entire journal, of about 45 pages, and using a woodburning tool to etch the cover and pages with runes. What you have done makes me long for my younger days, with untapped creativity and ample free time.

Thanks again.

Great work Russel! I'm going to run RotRL in a few weeks online using Fantasy Grounds and I've taken your drawings and put them on some backgrounds. Download Here.

My previous attempts at Tsuto's Letter can be Tsuto's Letter in Common and Tsuto's Letter in Common.

Later,

Thank you Russel !

Scarab Sages

They are awesome.

I give them to my players and each session they come up with some crazy ass reason for what things are happening in the game.

Thank you.

Yeah...really nice work there. I'm going to run the first bit of the AP this Sunday (been wanting to run it since I got it) and these will be a really nice accompaniment. Thanks for the effort!

Looking forward to checking out all of the other great GM threads in this section. It's nice to run something after so many folks have already worked out the kinks! :)

Check out the Community created topic for loads of GM created stuff. Start at the end and work back for the lastest comprehensive list.

Pathfinder Adventure, Rulebook Subscriber

Sorry for the raise thread but I wanted to thank you so much for the awesome work on the handout! I used it to full effect, my players loved it.

Scarab Sages

I just used these for my group last week. They spent over 45 minutes just pouring over them and gradually understanding the hidden plot. Excellent!

Add my thanks!

I have to agree. I used it as well for my session today, and it was really useful. It made the penny drop moment so much more satisfying, as they were reading through it, and they realized Nualia was the one behind it, especially considering the fact that they had sent a letter out at the beginning of the session which basically said: "Nualia Tobyn, I hope this letter gets to you. You may be in some sort of danger. It seems someone has stolen your father's corpse, and they may try to use this to get at you."
