The room you're in is long, rectangular; there's the way you came in, and on the opposite wall a long hallway heading deeper into the arch.
It's dark, it's worked stone. Ancient, and extremely roughly hewn.
Any dwarf who did this work would be extremely embarassed.

I finished The Anubis Gates by the way Vatters. Great read – I felt the start was a little slow, but by a third of the way through I couldn’t put it down. Good time travel romp (I liked the resolution of various paradoxes) and great depiction of the thieves (or beggars) guilds. The stuff down below the clown’s place was seriously scary. My only real niggle was that some of the ‘twists’ were a bit predictable, but that wasn’t really a turn off. Otherwise, great!

Heh, OK is frozen solid according to my family. I feel like the snow is trying to follow me home to Louisiana! There are rumors that it might try to snow here tomorrow morning. That, and the Saint's winning, might be proof that he!! hath indeed frozen over! ;)

Life has stopped here thanks to a couple of inches of snow. Schools shut, kids sent home and playing in the deserted streets.

Much the same. Had an important meeting today so had to stay in london last night to make sure I could be there (and had to buy a suit, shirt, tie, underpants and socks as well, and a shaver - forgot to get a toothbrush, ah well). Had a fairly lengthy (time-wise) commute home too, but I'm back now at least and working from home tomorrow.
Blue skies and crunchy snow here. Probably 25 degrees (-3 C?) with a stiff wind. Been that way for about five days. Brrrrrr ....
