CotCT in 4th edition?

Curse of the Crimson Throne

Okay, is the Curse of the Crimson Throne going to be in 4th edition D&D? I really hope it isn't but if it is I can understand. Be that as it may, how hard would it be to convert back to 3.5 edition if it is? Also, if this question has been asked before disregard my rantings.

Thanks
A.

dude check out other 4E threads that abound on the site.

Paizo haven't even seen the 4E OGL yet and so for them to read, play test and then produce a product that will come out in a months time is nigh on impossible.

The Third AP, whatever its called (i cant remember i'm getting old alright!!) may be 4E but they have also stated that they haven't decided whether they will infact switch editions.

It all depends on the OGL etc.

Now if someone in the know wants to fill all the missing parts in, including linkys to threads etc i'll have a really great post.

Bah, humbug!

Thank you:) As for searching the 4th edition threads for info, the thought never really occurred to me. Thanks for the tips though.

Second Darkness.

It has drows, demons, and stuff. Whatever the version (3.X or 4E), it seems that there will be a conversion guide.

It will be interesting to see how effective a conversion guide can be since it seems that the two systems will have some very different assumed power levels at the same levels (for example, at 1st level 4E will have more power than 3E, but I get the feeling that this may not be true at 17 level since 4E is going to 30... but who knows). The difference in creature and encounter design ideas will play a huge role too... just will be interesting to see. Good luck Paizo!

Well I certainly hope Paizo will make it very clear when they are switching over to 4E. I have no need for 4E products and will return any item that is.

Curse of the Crimson Throne is 3.5, it's the 3rd AP that Paizo is undecided yet whether it will be 4th edition or not.

If and when we switch, we will make it abundantly and painfully clear ahead of time.

Of course, I thought we were pretty clear about the magazines ending as well, but we still got "Why wasn't I told about this?" emails up until... you know... recently. *sigh*

What?! The magazines have ended? Why didn't someone come to my house and tell me? I don't live that deeply in the Adirondacks!

That's it! I'm never never never never playing D&D ever ever ever again!

We'll miss your moneys! I mean you! We'll miss you.

Yeah, that was a good recovery.

It'll be completely effective because the conversion guide will just be like the True20 guide, stats for each encounter using the other system.

The adventures could be published system less and it wouldn't matter, you base the difficulty of the bosses based on the XP the party gained in that system from the encounters previous encounters.

If you fight 3 goblins, it's 3 goblins. Yes the XP you gain is going to be more or less based on the system you use. That just means the level of the boss battles (to steal a gaming term) will be different.

Lol I just told my store manger the reason she wasn't getting the magazine anymore was because it was cancelled.. she was like 'I didn't get any letters.'

I seem to recall plenty of stuff in the magazine about the magazine ending... not to mention 1 or 2 letters. :)

You'll miss me? <small tear flows down face>

Okay, maybe one more purchase...

Sorry, Mike. I meant no offense. Truth be told, I'm a newly converted Paizo fan. I didn't discover Paizo until after Dragon and Dungeon magazines ended. I've been using the past few months to collect all your 3.5-oriented issues and modules.

I have that funny feeling conversion will be really hard as well.

Look at the Pit Fiend. If the PCs have to fight one in an adventure the 3.5 players will be facing a very different combatant than the 4th edition players...And thats just one example.

What is the scoop on the rules? Does Paizo even have them yet?
I know they are willing to pay the money to get them early.
So did they and its being looked over as we speak? Or did they not even get the rules/SRD yet?

We have signed an NDA and have expressed interest in viewing the OGL and in purchasing the $5k design kit, but we haven't received a copy of the OGL yet. So we wait.

(sarcasm)I can see this day in the office now:

*on loudspeaker* "the email withe the OGL just hit my inbox - meeting time in the pit to go over it"

*crowded group huddling around the projector screen*

"now, we're going to do this like in school so we can get in the right mindset - everyone get in a circle and we'll go around the circle reading one paragraph out loud each"(/sarcasm)

This might be the next campaign I run. By the time I wrap up my savage tide campaign 4E will be out, so I'm wondering how hard it will be to convert this campaign to 4E if we decide we like the new edition and want to give it a shot.

Yeah, that's insane. And yes, we talked about it for months before it happened. But, you know, people just don't pay attention...

Yay! I'm a natural salesman! :D

Don't get me wrong, Aristodeimos, I was not offended at all. I was just letting you know what we've been up against. I hope you weren't offended by my answer.

What magazines? And why haven't I been getting my Dragon for the last couple of months? What's happening?

Come and see the violence inherent in the system. Help! Help! I'm being repressed!
