Hi! I am doing a savage tide play by post.
500 starting gold. 1st level characters.
I think 6 players max is good, but if anyone wants to help DM, thats cool too.we will play the first adventure "there is no honor" first.
Hi, Gobbo. I'd like in. I've played as far as
before the game fizzled, so I hope you don't think I know too much.
My first thought is a non-blasting human sorcerer; my second is the character I tried before, a halfling scout.
Thanks.

Ok. I really have no problem with people who have already played it.
the game really will be based on a DM-player trust system(ie you make your own rolls and such. should be really fun.
currently im a player in a yahoo groups campaign and dm for a harry potter PbP, but im sure I will have plenty of time to post.

mevers |

OK, I would love to play this.
Just one problem, I have read most (all?) of the adventurers. Would this be a problem. I am usually pretty good at separating player and character knowledge.
Assuming that is alright, I don't really mind what I play, and usually just fill in whatever gaps there are. But I would love to give a Warblade a go.

What are the character generation rules? Point buy? 4d6 drop one? Restrictions? Etc....
I would like to do this (I am running the Savage Tide for a group, so I have decent knowledge of the game, but I don't use player knowledge as charaacter knowledge so it shouldn't be an issue. The game ain't fun if you're cheatin').

Invisible Castle has linkable rolls. It is quick and easy to use and you don't need an account or anything. We been using it for the PBP arenas and it works good.
just a suggestion.FH

This should be an interesting PbP. I can just see some of the posts now...
DM: "OK. You guys know that part about the stilt walkers on pg. XX of issue XX? Well, you're there. So... uh... you know what's supposed to happen, what d'ya guys wanna do?"
I actually had a friend allow me to play in his STAP campaign (only lasted about two weeks before group dissolved), even though I knew the material. He tweaked it just subtly to keep me guessing. It was quite fun.

I own / have read all the parts of the adventure path, but they're in a huge pile next to our bedside and I'm far too lazy to dig them out, so I ought to be good. I'm interested if you'll have me.
Going to reply to my own invisible post, as the old one doesn't seem to show up anymore (at least not to me). Silly internets.

I'd like to play, but I'm in the same boat as the other guys. I'm running the game for my group and I've read all the way up to City of Broken Idols (the rest of the issues are in my shopping cart). If that's ok, then count me in if you've still got a spot.
Can I play a Warforged? If not then I'll probably play human. I like to play warrior types or arcane casters, but I'll play what the party needs. I don't like clerics though. Fighter or artificer would be my picks.

Hey mevers, what is a Warblade exactly? I take it they would fill the warrior / tank role in the group ... how does one differ from say a fighter?

Sean, Minister of KtSP |

Are we up to six players yet?
I'd love to play.
Again with the caveat that I am familiar with the material and am currently running it with one of my IRL groups.
I know I have no trouble separating player and character knowledge.

Yep,they take the place of fighter (or Barbarian) in the group, and as Aubrey said, you really need the Book (Tome of Battle) to run / play one. Although you can get a fair idea of their capabilities by checking out the ToB excerpt on WotC's site.
Now, having said all that, I am more than happy to fill whatever role needs filling. The (dis?)advantage of mostly DMing is that it feel like I have about 100 character ideas floating around in my head at any one time.

Invisible Castle it is. use that and post your final resjults for each roll/check/save.
cool ideas. good to see a good amount of noncore classes.

I think I wanna do a druid with the 2 variant abilities from the PHB2. That'll give him some additional healing options and a cool ability that will replace the need to keep track of an animal companion or summoned creatures. Probably Wood Elf. I'll start statting up.

Well, I guess I needn't have worried!
I'm going to go with a human Beguiler. Working on stats now.

assuming aubrey is NOT playing, (he didnt say), we have 8 people. Im going on a first come first serve style thing so the oddmen out would be aubrey and sean. you can still play, but 8 players is definitly a lot. leveling might be impaired somewhat.
ok, let me know when you have characters ready.
Hey.
I can be a back-up character, but I'd rather wait till when (or if) you get to the island; I've studied the adventures up to that point so far.
Of course, it's going to take a hell of a long while till you get there.

a warforged is fine visgoth.
btw, you arent by any chance named after the character invisigoth from the X-files?
Cool. And no, I'm named after a sub-group of the ancient tribe of barbarians that sacked Rome. I just added an extra "s" because it looked cooler that way.
Since we already have a barbarian, I'll probably go with a fighter/artificer headed for the Spellcarved Soldier PrC.

Eight sounds a little large for a PbP party. If you're up for it and are willing to let me play, I'll craft a character by tonight. If eight is too big, I can back out, though.

By the way as of now I only have There is No honor, however, the shipping tracker says the other 11 issues shipped last tuesday so I figure tommorrow or wednesday they will arrive. so please, don't beat the whole adventure in 2 days! haha. (it will probobly be like 2 weeks or more in reality). Hopefully the mags show up tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm doin' a druid (probably wood elf) with the "shapeshift" variant and the "Spontaneous Rejuvenation" variant class features.
He won't be too much of a healer though so a cleric or something would be nice also.
I'll work on him or her tonight.

I'm thinking a human (or half elf) Cleric of Fharlanghn. I'll very much be focused on healing, buffing, utility spells and skills such as diplomacy, knowledge religion, and knowledge planes - though if we have a beguiler I might drop diplomacy. Might take a level or two of ranger at some point.
I rolled up a prelim character last night using 4d6, but I'll change it to a 32 point buy, should have something prelimanary posted at some point in the next 24 hours.

Sean, Minister of KtSP |

Sorry, had to deal with car stuff, and the last of the fallout from Carpocalypse, so I am at work now. Will roll up a character and post it tonight after work (probably by midnightish, Pacific Time).
