The Boy

Off-Topic Discussions

I'm typing from my laptop at the hospital. We had a little boy early yesterday morning. Happy, healthy, and crying a lot already. God, what did we get ourselves in to?

Heh, just kidding, i love the little bugger. Oh, and Elliot got 51% of the votes, just edging out Sebastian at 49%.

Just thought i'd share!

As happy as ever,
ACE

Hey man, congratulations! Hope the birth went smoothly.

Liberty's Edge

Woo hoo!!! Glad everything went well!!!
Welcome to the trial of sleep deprivation; the first 2 months are hard, but you'll make it.
And when ya change him, put the front of the new diaper over his piece quick; little boys are notorious for knocking off a squirt if they get the chance. ;)

Congratulations! And good choice on the name. Naming him Sebastian would have risked growing fonder of me or irrationally angry at him, neither of which would have been good. ;-)

Best wishes to you, your wife, and the little one.

Liberty's Edge

Congratulations! and 'Elliot' is a great name; only slightly less great than, well, 'Andrew'!

Ahhh...more and more brought into the fold...

Gratz on your new player to be!

The Exchange

You need another kid to help flesh out the gaming group!
Kids are a blessing, ya-da, ya-da. Insert heartfelt comment here. Gushing about my own now. Blah-blah blah.
A kid uses on average 7 diapers a day for about 3 years. 7,595 diaper changes(on average) before he decides to go in the potty. Have fun.
You never know true joy until you get someone else's feces on your hand, shirt, etc. or have someone take pot-shots at you with the urine-gun. Lovely little nippers.
;P

Hooray! Congrats on your new level 1 human! :D

Congradulations! Joy to the world! A new gamer is born! I'd make up more but I can't remeber what comes next... Elliot's a good name too. Its good to know that more of us are being born.

Congratulations Ace. I hope he doesn't look too much like his old man (round, floating and covered in eyes).

CONGRATS!!!!

And just because you say it in jest, doesn't mean that you don't feel it once in a while. They is stress inducing little powersources, them babies. But a load of fun.

Congratulations

My daughter is 2. If you're lucky and have parents who can watch him maybe you won't have to give up gaming. I've been told that maybe I can have a rest when mine gets to be about five.

2010, ahhhhh. I can hardly wait.

The floating part might be pretty nifty...

Congratulations!

A quote I have found to be true with regard to my own children:

“Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”

Elizabeth Stone

Friendly advice - revel in your children and the changes your children bring into your life - the changes to your priorities and your daily routine.

Think constantly about the example you set, how you treat others, what you eat, how often you exercise, how much you watch tv, what you watch and read - what you do is far more improtant that what you say.

And on a more practical note - don't let the relationship you have with your child be the only element in your relationship with your partner - it will change - and more than ever it will need care and attention.

Again Congratulations - a child is a real world adventure!

Congrats Ace! I hope everyone is doing fine.

AAhh, seeing your child for the first time, holding him in your arms and feeling that overwhelming sense of love, that's real magic! Kudos to you daddy!

Edit: Oh, and HUGE kudos to your wife, she did the hard part :)

Good job. Now get some dice in those tiny hands!

Of course with supervision.

A friend of mine had his baby boy bless his new set of dice and they've rolled better than any set I've ever seen him use.

Still a baby and already casting first level spells? Impressive.

You poor, poor soul. [/joke]

Dude, I admire you for going through all of that. I could never have kids. I'd be too inclined to commit infanticide (I have a VERY short fuse).

Congrats. You are a better man than I, Gunga Din.

Congratulations, ACE!!

Congrats, Ace!

Well Done! :)

Congratulations on the new addition. Hope mother and baby are doing well (and of course Dad)

Congratulations Ace and to your wife too. Enjoy him while he's little, they turn into teenagers faster than you think! ;o)

Awright! Congratulations, man!

Ace,
There's little that I can say that hasn't already been covered. Congratulations.

Remember, children teach us two things:
Life and Strength.
Then while you're not looking they get all shifty eyed and sneaky... :)
