I want it. I want it now.
Seriously.

And I have the haunting feeling my FLGS won't participate in Free RPG say. Not because they're jerks, but because they run the biggest game shop in the state and don't have a lot of local competion. Meaning they'd have a crowd control situation and certainly need more than one box of free product (which isn't free to them.)

On the other hand, they do Free Comic day. So I can hope they get added to the list between now and then.

Until then: I want it I want it I want it.

What's your local FLGS...is it on the list?

Sci-Fi City, in Orlando Florida. Wasn't on the list when I checked. I e-mailed the Free RPG people about it. And I'll bring it up with the staff next time I'm in the store (which isn't as often as I'd like).

Cool! Good luck my man! Hope you can get your hands on it!

The Blog mentions being able to get it if you miss Free RPG day, so I'm not too worried. But thanks.

Contributor

Cool! Cause I might be on my honeymoon then!!! I don't want to miss it!!!

I think the nearest gaming shop is a thousand miles away. I wonder if one of you fine people wouldn't mind grabbing up a copy for me and sending it to Baghdad? (hint hint wink wink nudge nudge)

As long as I'm near a store that has it on the 23rd, consider this done my man! Keep in touch via the boards and I'd happily send you one once I get my hot little hands on them.

w00t !!! Morningstar Games is on that list! YAY!!! I will be able to get it!

EP Healy, I will also try to pick you up a copy! Shipping to you will be on me, if I can get it! It is the least I can do for the people who are putting their life on the line for us.

i was gonna say that my state isnt even on the list, but thats better than rpgs, mortars, and ieds.

i hope your getting more gaming in then i did. there were some guys playing, but it wasnt what i called quality gaming. vorpal blades at first level....

but hey, keep your body armor on and get on back.

Also, EP. I have a few spare dragon mags and a spare dungeon mag or three. I will include them in the package, if that is ok with you.

Amen to that! Please keep safe.

Nothing for non-US residents?

When I first looked at the list of retailers, I noticed there were none outside the US as well. Go to your local store and see if they'd participate. Maybe they can get on the ball in time...

The site says it is limited to US only this year :-(

But I'm hoping to score a copy (I'd even pay for it) when they give out more info later on.

dont feel to bad bout being left out no flags at all round here closest game store over a hundred miles out in fact so i feel your pain

For those of you who are not close enough to get one of these sweet free adventures, fear not. We are looking into ways to make sure that you do not miss on encounter of our new Module line. More information to come as soon as we have it.

As an aside, I am very pleased to see such excitement for this product. It really turned out great and I hope everybody enjoys it.

My FLGS is not on the list, obviously! ;)

In Deutsch or English... my German is a bit rusty, but I could probably manage it. :)

In all seriousness though, we are looking into ways to make sure that everybody who wants one can get one.

English is just fine (as most of the german translation I got of WotC products had some rules outright wrong!).
Anyway, thank you for not forgetting us, here on the other side of the world!

Hey, but seriously, why shouldn't we translate it into German? It is a free download as far as I know and if you gave us (German Paizo Fanboys and Fangirls) the OK, we could translate it, perhaps advertise it on THE German D&D-website (www.dnd-gate.de) and get some new customers for Pathfinder/GameMastery products.

Also see "Translating the RotRAP" thread on these lovely boards.

Liberty's Edge

Translating a 16-pager for Paizo? Why not! I'm in...

We will figure out how to make copies available to Paizo fans who don't have participating retailers. Just give us a few weeks to work out the details. Thanks!

How about adding in a copy for international orders of the module itself?

BTW... translating into German? Count me in...

Very strange - when I click on [more] to see the rest of the entry, it won't show it, just keeps refreshing the Blog page with this most recent entry's initial paragraph-and-a-half.

Then I discovered, almost by accident, that if I click on the picture of the Worg (I assume that's what he is) to the left of the blurb, it opens up the full text. But that seems to be the only way to display the whole thing right now.

One suggestion: Downloadable PDF version, mebbe? Weeks later, perhaps, so as not to step on the toes of Free Game Day.

I'm going to try to get to the participating LGS (unfortunately, it's not particularly F, so I avoid it), but I'm glad to know that if I can't, there'll be an alternative.

Yeah, the link to the full blog entry is kind of hard to find. Might want to fix that?

Regarding the freebie, I'd love to get it, but as I'm in the EU, it seems kind of hard to fly over to the US to get it ;) -- some other way of not missing out on it would be very much appreciated, and I'd appreciate it even more if it became available in a dead tree edition for non-US customers as well (PDFs are all good and well, but I just prefer to have something in my hands).

Thanks!

This would be great Dryder and Oliver! But I hope Paizo is interested as well!

Just the other day I was thinking about how effective free intro modules have been in getting me into various companies game releases. The Wizard's Amulet turned me into a life-long fan of Necromancer and the Battle of Bay Bridge was a great intro to Lame Mage.

I was minutes away from suggesting a free, downloadable intro module to the new GameMastery modules. Apparently, I no longer need to actually do anything, just plan on doing it and it gets done.

Anything else you guys need me to think about doing?

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 32

Paizo Staff: Might I suggest shipping a few extra boxes of the Module to Ziggurat Con to tide them over till they get home?

Along with whatever else you think they could use.

Is that 2-page preview of the Free RPG Day module indicitave of what other Gamemastery modules and Pathfinder will look like?

Paizo Employee Director of Games

The 2 page preview is close to what out style will look like. We are still refining some of the details. What do you think?

EP Healy, are you in the Green Zone? We have a decent, if not large, group over there. We play when our DM is off.

Well, what I don't like is the format of the TACTICS line.

A line above and below is like an eye-catcher and for mee it looks like a new entry starts, for another keyed entry. If you do line above and below for a headline or the headline of an entry like 1. The Kobolds Kings Throne Room, that woule be fine. Tactics should just be bold, and maybe capitalized...

Liberty's Edge

Oh, and what I sure LOVE like hell is

"Slurk Disgusting, pale subterranian frogs that secret powerful adhesives (See D1: Crown of the Kobold King)"

Sweeeeet!

Very nice! Clean, concise, and to-the-point while still being easy on the eyes. I particularly like the Tactics block. Well done!

I have to second this.

BTW Dryder, if you are still interested in translating Hollow's Last Hope please let me know your email address.

Aureus,

just click on my name in my posts to view my profile!

I like the way the TACTICS line stands out. I like that it's easy to spot the different parts of each location entry. Perhaps the tactics should stand out less than each location heading though.

Seriously though, I've just been running an old first edition adventure that I'm converting as we go through it, and adventures have gotten SOOOO much better in their layout.

I really like the layout of the encounters. The "tactics" line is just fine, and the stuff in there is terribly useful. I really appreciate you NOT spending page space on reproducing a stat block for your Razorcrows. The name is evocative, and the hawk stats in the MM will do just fine.

With this format, you should be able to cram two or three times (or more?) as much adventure into your 32 pages than would be found in a similar number of pages of the delve format. I think that's a really good idea.

RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

Although at first I thought that the Tactics and morale part was just a stat-block (my mistake) I really do like the morale part. It brings back something of 2e that was lost in 3e, the wonderful morale rules. Too often I saw adventures where every monster fought until the end.

Wheeee!

I was just looking over the sample page more closely, and it mentions Baba Yaga! Tell me you're really working her into the world-setting!

Baba Yaga stories were a formative part of my childhood; I was absolutely enthralled by her, and none of my friends had ever heard of her.
