Hmm.. odd. I thought the smaller saves were from fractional saves?
recommendations:
All great ideas, thank you! You're right about the ability score load out, I'll tweak that. About the extracts, I'm planning to use enlarge person to buff abel or Azrael, but cats Grace looks pretty cool, especially the Dex focus he has. Any recommendations on alchemical items? I'm looking for some which would be good for battlefield control, and I might pick up a few utility items. Any items which are just plain cool are good as well. Also, I got to type up my background, here it is: background:
Mindos has gotten to where he is through a combination of luck and skill. It started when he was in the right place at the right time to bump into, and trip up a fugitive, earning himself a friend in the police. Since then, he has used his contacts to gain a lucrative position as a private detective frequently hired out by the wealthy noble families. Then, a literal miracle happened to him. When he was part of a raid gone horribly wrong, a chunk of sharp metal flew towards his neck. Just before it hit him, it vanished without a trace. Since then, he wondered about what happened then, and why it happened to him. Eventually, he came up with the idea that a god had personally intervened in his life. Desperate after many fruitless hours looking for answers and large sums of money spent on priests who turned out to be charlatans, he heard about a paladin of the Old Lord working near the Capital. He hired himself out to the Ainsworths to get closer to this paladin, and hopefully find out more about what happened to him. Thoughts?
I looked through the d20 Modern SRD for a bit.
skills:
Disable Security Device (actually covered under disable device in d20 modern, but it's probably different enough to warrant its own skill) Drive Computer Use (Int) Craft (electronic) Craft (pharmaceutical) Pilot And here are some feats feats:
Aircraft Operation (need 4 ranks in pilot, receive no penalties when flying one type of aircraft) Drive by attack (get no penalty from shooting from vehicles) Gearhead (+2 on Use Computer and Repair) Medical Expert (+2 on craft(pharmaceutical) and treat injury) Vehicle Expert (+2 on Drive/Pilot) Vehicle Dodge (do something to get bonuses to AC in a vehicle) Surface Vehicle Operation (like Aircraft Operation but for surface vehicles) The d20 modern SRD has more info, though I'm 99% sure it only comes in the form of a bunch of Word documents, so keep that in mind.

May I ask why? If it is because they don't want people to cheat, there are several dice rooms where everyone sees the results of a roll (rolz.org is an example). If it's because computers don't have "true" randomness, some sites like random.org and roll20 use "true" randomness, with a split beam of light or something similar.
Found this on DND beyonds Reddit account
from DND beyond: I'm Adam Bradford, DDB product lead for Curse. I'm flying back from PAX today, but I'll give a brief reply between flights. A few things that I can hopefully clarify here: D&D Beyond is a responsive web application that can work on any device - definitely not a desktop client or mobile app only available for iOS or Android. We care a great deal about offline capability, and you'll be able to access your characters, etc. just fine on the terrible WIFI at those conventions. :) The DDB toolset is being developed by Curse Media and is not a directly tied to the former Curse App that was recently shared has become the Twitch App. At launch, players will be able to access SRD content and build and view a small number of characters with a free D&D Beyond account. We don’t have exact pricing nailed down, but you will also be able to buy official digital D&D content for all fifth edition products with flexible purchase options. You can pay only for the D&D content you need. If you only play fighters, for example, you’ll be able to just pick up the stuff you need to track swinging that giant two-handed sword. This is NOT a microtransaction model - we aren't forcing anyone to buy the content in small chunks - it can still be bought all at once. It's all just flexibility. A small monthly subscription will be needed to manage more than a handful of characters and to enable more advanced features, like homebrew content integration. At this time, we don’t know exactly how much the subscription will cost, but please continue to check dndbeyond.com for the most up-to-date announcements and information! I can't share much else yet, but we're terribly excited to get this into players' hands for the beta very, very soon. Thanks!
I noticed that you wanted the background before equipment.
BH character background.: Lucas Brill was 16 when his home state of Louisiana joined the Confederate States. Like many of his peers in Southern Louisiana, he fervently supported the Confederate cause. Wanting to do more than be a drummer boy, he joined a small civilian band of guerrillas. They hid in the woods, scouting and waiting for the enemy. At first, they ambushed stragglers. Lucas was one of their most fanatical warriors, but his faith in their cause diminished every time they killed someone defenseless. His faith completely vanished when they killed their first civilian. Lucas escaped the small band, and made his way out west to wait out the horrors of war. He explored the local area, and soon made a living as a guide.
Didn't notice the links, thanks!
Boot Hill character:

Thinking of a guerrilla/scout type character. I looked at an Osprey book (American Civil War Guerilla Tactics), and it mentioned some guerillas in poorer southern areas such as Louisiana, western Virginia, and the Ozarks that ambushed stragglers. I'm thinking that my character would be one of those. Open to other concepts, though.
Probably doing a Ministorum Priest.
I've wanted to create the opposite of Salt in the Wounds. a giant monster that feeds on a regenerating city.
Going to play an Arch Militant, not an Missionary
GM's eyes only: May I take the agent of the throne advance package?
My background; basic for now, will add details later: Basically, he's a radical inquisitor sent to investigate Footfall, and the Rogue Trader's going there, but he secretly plans to use the xenos for his own means. Edit:will gladly pay the 600 xp required to get the advance
WS: 2d10 + 25 ⇒ (10, 6) + 25 = 41
EDITED VERSION: Grandaltain
The large city of Grandaltain is a safe haven for persecuted groups in the world. As such, they worship Vuni, an believe every one of her children should find a safe place. The ruler of Grandalthain is Duke Kaithos the Ageless, the founder of Grandalthain. He is supposedly kept alive by magic, cast by Archwizard Grorverm a wizard of incredible reputation. Grandalthain is kept in order by Marshal Graet. His police force stamps out crime and tries to make it an utopia for persecuted groups. The Marshal has taken this to an extreme. He persecutes anyone that even slightly violates the code of Vuni, the perfect utopia brutally enforced. This dream of an utopia is well protected by the Citizens Army; a militia group. Of course, Grandalthain always needs more upstanding citizens to join its ranks, will you?
