Come to Footfall

Recruitment

The cryptic message you receive from one of your agents is short and brief. "Come to Footfall. Great opportunity awaits."

The game is Rogue Trader and successful applicants will make rank 1 characters using the Corebook with/without reference to Into the Storm. That means Orks and such xenos are allowed. The game I have in mind allows two or more rogue traders (i.e. 2 or more ships). Recruitment will end on the 18th of September.

I have a few different ideas, should have something together in the next few days.

Leaning toward navigator or astropath.

Question: Roll and assign or straight down the line?

Dark Archive

Straight down the line

I have this incredible idea of a Freeboota Orc Pilot or Mec-Boy keeping the starship working and driving all the Ad-Mechs Nuts with orcish technology 'understanding' *giggle* and utterly crazy flying maneuves. And of course always eager to 'collect' some teeth's planetside :-)
Would you allow that kind of char-concept? Could get pretty hilarious I think ... Always wanted to play an Orc in 40k... Definitely one big advantage of rogue trader to allow such things!

So. What xenos are allowed?
Would love to play a Necron. But i know thats not really possible.

I dont recall seeing rules for eldar in d core book and into the storm. Only ork n kroot.

Darn. Well. Will try to get the pdf and see whats available =^^=

Dark Archive

Well, I seem to be lacking in the smarts, the charm and even with the re-roll the Wil is below average. However it appears I excel at shooting stuff. Arch-Militant it is then.
Don't really see the appeal of aliens in the Imperium, so I will of course be human.

Are we setting out Origin Path 'properly', free selection or should we wait and run through together as a team?

Okay. For more fun. Especially if there will be another ork =^^=
Ork freebooter going for Kommando. But would like to change the Ag roll for Per then

Dark Archive

Re-roll change is alright

So, reference to Into the Storm is okay? And we're putting in our stats in order? (Just making sure I'm following correctly.)

Dark Archive

Yes and Yes.

Scarab Sages

Alrighty, I'm on my phone at the moment, but I'll see about rolling something up later this evening.

Do we start with any thrones?

That's not quite how RT works. ;)

Seth86 wrote:

It wouldn't be wrong to assume that, yes, we start with some thrones. Everyone has a free piece of gear at the start, which can be a good-quality STORMTROOPER armour, a storm bolter, or 10 Valkyrie gunships.

Or about 100,000 lasguns.

You're thinking on a very small scale. :)

Scarab Sages

I'd go into more detail, but I don't have access to my books here. But yeah, scale is the thing. RT crews don't deal on the throne level. Personal gear is pretty trivial to pick up. (Hence, the regular complaints that RT characters are "overpowered".)

And because my edit button doesn't work for some reason: I didn't mean my first response to be so snarky! I'm just having trouble doing long posts at the moment!

Oh! For Origin Paths, are there any "free picks" or are they fixed?

Going to play an Arch Militant, not an Missionary

GM's eyes only:
May I take the agent of the throne advance package?
My background; basic for now, will add details later: Basically, he's a radical inquisitor sent to investigate Footfall, and the Rogue Trader's going there, but he secretly plans to use the xenos for his own means.
Edit:will gladly pay the 600 xp required to get the advance

Just have to ask: Would it be possible to play a Factor of Lathes type character? It's from DH, essentially a tech that looks human and detach mechandrites. No GM for DH wants to begin with that, but maybe in RT it could work. If that's a lot to ask, then I'll just let my rolls decide.

I am overwhelmed by the response to an RT game. It is far greater than my DH and DW games.

That being said and for thd guidance of everyone, the books allowed for Character Generation are Core and Into the Storm.

Some concepts run past me can be accomodated by the proper selections in the origin path and advances.

There is the throne agent elite advance thete somewhere.

Hello!

This is the Lion Cleric with an unfinished (story-wise) submission for the Rogue Trader role. What's going to be added later is her transfer from an Inquisitorial Acolyte to a bearer of a Warrant of Trade.

Origin Path: Noble Born -> In Service to the Throne(Born to Lead) -> Zealot (Unnerving Clarity) -> Press Ganged -> Prestige -> A Long and Glorious History (A Dark Secret)

@GM, there's been some absolutely fantastic rolls by some people here, and some of the rest are average-ish. Are you doing anything to bring the latter up to par (because knocking the others down a peg is mean), or is it Dice for the Dice Gods and Luck for the Luck Throne? Being overshadowed kind of sucks, if you know what I'm saying.

Cheers!

Ok, I am thinking a Void-Master, likely a skilled Pilot and Naval Armsman.
