what? it isn´t october yet?
jeeezzzzz i´ve get unfrozen earlier
its your duty this thread, i mena, if your charcter want a Longsword besides Star Knife, then change it!!
actualy the favored weapon system, must wouldbe beter than actualy is!!
Maybe a sort of favored grup of weapons as many domains the gods have!!
For example:
Pharasma: Death, Healing, Knowledge, Repose, Water
So, the dagger, plus a Scythe, Mace, Longsword and Hand Crossbow.
I realy don´t get the image in my mind of a entire army of clerics and inquisitors from pharasma charging in a valley against the hordes of undeads or demons, or necromancers...with a dagger in hand each of them...
Like in the movie Brave´s Heart, at the confronting battles, figure out how hard t´will be that war with DAGGERS!!!
To me, Realy hylarious
The truth is that the game have some flaws in the rules!!
I love to see a Mounted Combat works better, fly, stealth, and so many skills fixed...
But as i said before: "if the logic or the rules are messing with the plot, then, its time to kick out some rules for a while"

1mt is equal to 3ft. So 1*3=3*9= 27
rounded up to make it even = 30 ft dude not 18!!
still a cakewalk
besides, if the gm uses the presure factor in the water changing at 3mt (10 ft) rate like an hard terrain and so... that´s would be a huge mistake to dive in!!
first 10 ft maybe a normal movement swimming rate, second 10ft doble cost, and 3rd 10ft maybe a full round action move!!
I'm going to have to disagree with you about the pressure. Until you start talking about multiple atmospheres of pressure there isn't going to be a significant change to the body other than increased pressure/pain in the ears. It takes a depth of 10 meters or 33 feet to achieve a second atmosphere of pressure so anything less than that is a hassle not a danger and shouldn't cause an inherent change in movement difficulty. I really like the anchor method: toss in the paladin or fighter in heavy armor on a rope, let them gather stuff up and then signal to have the party pull them back up, hit with wand of cure light if you must. Repeat until you get all the loot in the pool. You know what?
You´re tottaly right here... besides, its a game at all. I like the game advancing and scalling with the plot most than the rules... sometimes the rules broke the game at all
i also prefeer being an Story Teller than a GM... so, if the logic or the rules are messing with the plot, then, its time to kick out some rules for a while!!

i enjoy it at all (also, the class brings a lot of new fire themed spells)

Paizo? We may go back and do some Pawn sets for some of the older Adventure Paths (though we haven't announced any at the moment). ahh!!
My heart beats again with this post ser Vic!!
(pressing F5 ´till announce shows up)
ooohhhh please make this happens!!
I love the Ultimate Equipment (even with its failed random weapon list at the treasures charts!!)
ahhh maybe we need to run Carrion Crown again when this one arrives!!
mmm i dont think youre changes (any), would be op,
move action is a great improvement!!
What if you add wis mod plus half the rangers level to the total of round to make the vanilla Hunter´s Bond?
that way it will last more than a couple of rounds
James Jacobs wrote: judas 147 wrote:

:3
I like almost all the classes (except Cavalier/Samurai i feel theyre too away from being a decent class at all)
The core classes are so complete, but as i said before, after 20+years playing with, it begin to tire being one!!
The base classes are very neat, since theyre some kind of specialized core classes (Alchemist is a wizard with potions, bombs, etc. Summoner is a mix for a Druid and a summoner, inquisitor is cleric/ranger mix, and so on...)
The magus is for me the best of the all new classes, i have waited so long to see this class happen!!
Also, the pyromancer is a good class at all (also that class includes some new spells and feats, and you can house rule her spells to get spell ideas for a new ones from another kind of energy [ice, acid, sonic, water, etc])
Spell-Less Ranger, Shadowsworn are great at all
So, now that we know we can have almost any class we wont, the rest is just sit at the table and give them life!!!

1) Not sure.
2) Can't say.
3) Because we don't have all the art for a pawn set when the first adventure comes out... we can't release a pawn set until we have all the art for an AP, and that happens at the end, not the beginning. Thanks!!
Im so happy with the pawns (and i guess youre so happy with the success with the pawns too)
I also know that you can´t do all of our request for you, and sometimes we seems very excesive with, but realy, thanks for all your job (im still waiting for a Kavapesta map), but besides my almost-always complain about the flaws, i also love evrything i have buyed from you guys!!
Question:
Can you spoiler if you are making new base classes, a hint or something?
Rynjin wrote: They do give suggestions for how to extend the AP if you wish to, you just need to do a bit of homebrewing as far as specific encounters go. Not quite the same, but it's workable. You´re right, is not the same!!
as a GM you can create something neat for your party needs, Carrion Crown isn´t so easy to run, it has a lot of holes (like the missconnection between adventures).
Im still running it, Beginning 4th adventure (included boths add ons, and Carrion Hill module). also i recommendo you take the Night Harrows guild as recurrent enemies, and at the end, check the Dungeons of Golarion, there are some ideas about fighting the lich king.
If all of this do not fit well with you, then, made your own path after the last adventure, or make more encounters in the transition from town to town.
Wow!!
theres a critical/fumble deck from paizo, are very awesome!!
i use some critical charts too, but they have to confirm aniway. as the critical hit indeed...
But i can understand your gm at the moment he says that you crit more than you fail, the game is made the way that a character always win, and isnt pfrpg, is the system itself... the monsters have almost the same statistics (or lower) from AD&D2E (check the orc in that monster manual).
so, let your gm have some fun too, watching you fail a crit. enjoy the rule, and when you actualy get critical hit for his monsters, then jump at the table, dance, show your joy and mok at him!!
Hi mr Jacobs:
1. When will came the Bestiary 3 Pawns for sale?
2. there will be Carrion Crown Pawns (yes/no/why/when)?
3. why the pawns for AP dont shows up at the same time that the adventure start showing up?
Me encantaría saber quienes hablan español por acá
let´s see
11 core classes (plus the antipal guy)
they are very neat classes, but gming this classes for 13+years come a point where you get all you can from those!!
the APG classes, the worst of all classes to me were the Cavalier (and his Samurai alternate class from UC)
the other five APG Classes fill some builds. i dont stands in front line for defend them but always is better to have more options
Magus in the other hand is the best PFRPG new class to me. thats the way a Sorcerer was announced in 3.0 description but in the mechanics was the same as the wizard with a couple of slots
i usualy use Ranger at any party because its my flavorful detective like batman or something!!
you can make almos evrything with that class!!
Dungeons & Dragons online, is very neat game, also, its placed in Eberron. i actualy found a guild a year ago named Red Goblin.
Actualy i don´t play it so often, but the guild still does!!
im looking for players too!!
Doted!!
i watch this book as an the GameMastery Guide for experienced Gamemasters, since the GMG was oriented for new Gms and have a little things to offer to me (actualy the semi-humanoid npc bestiary at the end of the books was the only thing i realy use, and no so often)...

Kor - Orc Scrollkeeper wrote: Does there exist somewhere, a breakdown of hardness and hit points for armor and weapons?
Right now I need the hardness and hit points for all the armors. The problem I have encountered in trying to use the Substance Hardness and Hit Point table on pg 175, is that the Hit Points are calculated per inch, and I have no idea what the thickness is of the armors. Going by this table and assuming that each of these armors are 1" thick, I have put together the following, but as I mentioned above I'm not really sure this would be accurate. Also, for Padded armor, I was unsure how to categorize this, so I just stuck it into the leather category.
Armor Hardness/HP
Banded Mail 10/30
Breastplate 10/30
Chain Shirt 10/30
Chain Mail 10/30
Full Plate 10/30
Half-Plate 10/30
Hide 2/5
Leather 2/5
Padded 2/5
Scale Mail 10/30
Splint Mail 10/30
Studded Leather 2/5
Do these seem correct?
Since there are specific rules for sundering items, it would be nice to have official rules for this since (to my knowledge) armors and weapons have never been specifically stat'd for the 3.5 game.
I use the system from Diablo d20:
Leather hardness 5
Metal 10
Durability: Armor weight X 3
Damage dealt or Taked Above the Armor/Weapon Hardness, you rest 1 point of durability from the object total.
Durability chart and penalty
1/2 -1 all checks while you use that object
1/4 -3 all checks while you use that object
0 Destroyed Armor´s total Ac becomes penalty in all checks made while you wear that Armor. Weapon gives a penalty equal its total weight in all checks made while you use that weapon.
i love this pawns, sadly im still waiting the Carrion Crown pawns!!
there will be or can i sart to letting that dream broke?

As for the other question, yes, you have to take it four times.
So, as a james sujest, it depend to GM if you can swap this bonus!!

That means nothing is on my character sheet that he didn't approve, this piece of information is important.
Tonight we fought these demon things, they have DR 10/ something and also have what I can only assume is displacement. My paladin has the Complete Champion feat, Awesome Smite, which if you don't know, allows me to as a tactical maneuver, either bypass DR up to twice my CHA, or automatically bypass miss chance (there's also a third maneuver but it doesn't matter here.) And he refused to honor the feat, which he approved.
I was okay with not bypassing the DR, what if it's DR/epic I thought. But when he decided that I can't use the feat at all because he doesn't remember it, I just walked out.

mmm i understand you, and somehow, i understand your dm:
as a dm/gm (im a survival ravenloftic horror DM), sometimes, i do some things that maybe isn´t at any book, with the purposal of fun, challenge my players to do something new every time!!
For example: when i roll a doppelganger, i ask for a will save (dc 10+doppel HD+her cha bonus) if you fail, i asume that in the encounter, im using your character and you are using the doppel. as a dm i realy want my players win, i mean, i want to win against this encounter, because, its his character. and use all of my knowledges at the table, to do that, remove the screen and i let them watch my dices!!
Whats the style for your dm?
maybe he is from 2ndE where all of us really love to get the equipment stolent because we will suffer that, and roll
i´ve never do a silly thing like stand up and walk out (i guess you look the scene somehow full of coolness, but realy looks like silly attitude to me), because i play the history as a player, im not playing my selfishness (as a many of the 3.0-3.75 doeas already [i say this because i face one guys or two with this behavior])
Maybe there was an extraordinary explanation for this, maybe the monster was something good that your pal just can´t hurt, maybe he has an special item, maybe the dm only want to run a long fight and that feat broke that feelling!!!
next time think twice before act like a jerk!!

Overhand Chop is a third level extraordinary ability granted by the Two-Handed Fighter Archetype.
Overhand Chop wrote: Overhand Chop (Ex)
At 3rd level, when a two-handed fighter makes a single attack (with the attack action or a charge) with a two-handed weapon, he adds double his Strength bonus on damage rolls.
This ability replaces Armor Training 1.
Sword, Bastard--Bolding Mine wrote: A bastard sword is about 4 feet in length, making it too large to use in one hand without special training.
Description: Due to its size, a bastard sword is an exotic weapon. A character can use a bastard sword two-handed as a martial weapon.
I know that the devs put the rules in the hands of intelligent people, and that they want us to rule in the way that makes the most sense. For that reason, and specifically because of the language that says two-handed as a martial weapon (which I interpret to mean it then is categorized as a "two-handed martial weapon"), I told the player in question I have no problem with their character using a bastard sword in two hands with the overhand chop ability. What I want to know is, am I houseruling that? Or is that the RAI?
The character in question has exotic weapon proficiency for the bastard sword, which means he can wield it in one hand, but I don't think that, in and of itself, removes the ability to still wield the sword two-handed as a martial weapon.
Also, before you ask, the player in question is a younger player who after taking three levels of barbarian, and thinking he wanted to go sword and board with the bastard sword, saw the two-handed fighter archetype and saw the potential for damage increase. He is now trying to decide whether to dip three levels of the Two-Handed Fighter in order to get that (ex) ability. His...
LOL in Conan d20 the bastard sword was indeed an exotic weapon. you can wield it:
Foot: two handed as martial, one handed as exotic
Mounted: Two handed exotic, one handed martial
in the game the bastard sword can be wielded with the exotic weapon feat, as a one handed weapon, but you still can use it as a two handed weapon.
That´s for the RAW
unless your gm housrule that and tells you, that you must choose either (actualy a silly house rule)

oooohhh thanks!!
let me see if i truly understand this:

where do you read that?
this rules are so confusing sometimes!!

because as i can understand, i can swap my bonus any of the racial favored class option i get!!

you add your dex score for the rest of the movement.

Strictly speaking, of course, you don't need a faerie dragon to be a "familiar" to justify it hanging out with you, you just need to be a regular source of amusing anecdotes and opportunities to do fun things, and perhaps food. But some of the familiar bennies would be pretty nice.

i made one rule like this one for 3.5 some years ago, and my players still enjoy it.
Path: path is the name i made for the level 0 it represent the way youre character lives her life before becoming a Hero, and it represents what he does when his in a town, working in downtime!!
HD: Racial HD (humanoid d8)
Skills: 1+int mod (max 1 rank and the rule aplies normaly when reach level 1)
lvl Bab F/R/W/ Special
0 +0 +1to1 2 traits, 1 Ocupation (from Tome of Secrets), Bonus Feat
1000 xp are needed to reach level 1st
Weapon and Proficiencies:
All character are proficient with simple weapons, no armor, no shields.
its flavorful for long play characters. Perfect to play with slow xp rate
a question here please:

woaaa this is great stuff
Txs for all the job dude, i hope i can do something than huge like this for you some time

i know who is the Iconic homosexual!!
... it is Harsk the Ranger Dwarf!!
Why?
its quite simple:
He is the only dwarf in the whole campaign who doesn´t fit in any duty of a common dwarf
-no smithing, no stone working, no crafting, no jewells apraiser, he likes the open spaces and landscapes besides being inside a mountain... he actualy is a ranger, don´t fight with hammers or axes, he actualy uses crosbows at all, he doesn´t like the alcohol...
so, if Harsk isn´t, i dont know who may be then!!
Here´s his story:
"Harsk is, in many ways, not your standard dwarf. He prefers the wide skies of the open plains, disdains the taste of alcohol, and prefers to handle his battles at range rather than in melee. Yet few dare to mock
him for his choices, for if there’s anywhere that Harsk is dwarven, it is in his gruff and ofputting attitude. Much of his anger stems from the death of his brother’s warband. Slain to a man by giants, Harsk came upon the slaughter moments too late to save his brother. Harsk’s hatred of giants has fueled him and shapes his life.
He prefers strong tea over alcohol (to keep his senses sharp), the wildlands of the surface world (where giants can be found), and the crossbow over the axe (which allows him to start fights faster).
His companions value his skill at combat even if they’re somewhat afraid of him."
Question: there is a "must be" homosexual in the iconic characters?

cmastah wrote: An old thread had me curious on this point, when a cleric channels positive energy, does he:
a) Heal the living within 30ft AND harm undead within that area
or
b) CHOOSE to either heal the living and ignore the undead within 30ft or harm the undead and ignore the living? As in only one of two effects occur?
i have this question once, but i understand this:
The channel energy is a powerful source of healling, indeed, also, a powerfull massive damage at multiple targets at low levels... so, if you put both at the same use... you´ll have a lot of multicleric in your campaigns.
In the first attemp to deal with this, i create a house rule which let the cleric split her channelled energy damage/heal (example: ChE 5d6, then split to heal 2d6 and 3d6 to the damage). if you see, is too overpower at all (eal and damage at the same time)
i made a feat: Dual Channeled Energy (metamagic)
Prerrequisites: Wis 13
Benefit: whenever you attemp to make a channel, you may decide spent another channelled energy to do boths of your effects.
Special: using this feat prevents the character to do anything else (move, cast, even the 5ft free step movement)
those books are not so valuable. in UM the best is the magus class, then the feats, then the spells.
oh and theres a place where you can take some spellbooks but not so cute.
the rules here (power words, spell Duels/Blights are so incomplete)
in UC there is the gunslinger, ninja and samurai (this one is the worst of all the 21 classes/subclasses in the wholy game)
and for the extra rules... piecemeal armor comes with a lot of flaws.
There are feats, and spells good enough.
oh and in boths are filled with archetypes, some useables and some space eater.
My rate for them
UC 3/10
UM 5/10 (without the magus 3/10)
