my work situation has changed: following the project I work on as it moves to a military base, I have moved to an apartment a few miles away. I now spend all day in a secure environment. I can no longer walk one block home for lunch, and access to unclas PC during the day is limited. I cannot bring personal devices into the compound where I work. I will check PbP before and after work, but typically not during the day. Feel free to bot Hadjii when combat gets intense, and his actions cannot wait until I get home...

no complaints from me (I like Hadjii!) -- I think you've done a fine job on a tough-to-run campaign made tougher to run due to experimenting with Mythic. I believe a lesser GM would have bailed long ago: Your commitment and ability to adapt and overcome keep me checkin' posts every day. The personal touches -- like Logos' amulet and Hadjii's Huntmaster feat -- demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and desire to add fun for players. I've seen some pretty good RP here on all our parts (especially Logos -- don't see why he thinks it's missing...), for a play-by-post we ham it up pretty well! I suppose other factors come into play in people's lives, and they can misidentify the source of their stressors. I also imagine many folks playing via PBP are barely able to get even that in, suggesting they are overloaded and stressed already -- and the escape that an RPG is supposed to provide just becomes instead another stressor (gotta keep up with posts!). You are doing right by letting 'em vent, and letting 'em fade away or storm off as needed. We do, however, need a new front line... Keep up the good work!

surge roll: 1d6 ⇒ 3 yay! you are correct in that I failed to update Sheeba's portion on the alias profile page -- the .pdf link shows the correct info... so now Hadjii is a 6th-level druid with a 1st-level companion... Hadjii will activate his mask's Death Ward ability on his turn! "Sheeba! Get out of here!" then he'll watch his companion shrivel horribly into a pathetic husk (since the Bodak's go before she has a chance to act...)

The <universal monster rules> page on PFSRD has a table showing there are 111 abilities! Having to ask for each one individually would make it difficult to apply the phrase "A successful check allows you to remember a bit of useful information about that monster". ("useful" being a key word here.) Each ability entry cites a "location" (location on the monster's stat block) -- I counted 12 locations: special qualities, special attacks, defensive abilities, individual attacks, senses, speed, aura, weaknesses, spell-like abilites, languages, hp, and individual attacks. Perhaps these locations can be used as a guide for what to ask about when making knowledge checks. For example, asking about "Special Attacks" might reveal whatever information is found in the "Special Attacks" location of that monster's stat block. Might I recommend players making knowledge checks ask about one of the above locations -- "what do I know from the senses and special attacks locations of the monsters stat block?" (I note that both the "Resistance" entry and the "Immunity" entry indicate location as Defensive Abilities...)

(note that using the die rolls from my iterative attacks above for Duhwoo's AoOs would hit much higher AC -- all would hit 37+ -- than those attacks did, since AoOs don't get the iterative attack adjustments used above...)

indeed, since Greater Dispel starts from the highest and works it's way down, those two first level would be among the last to go -- if the succubus has enough spells going, the 1st-level ones are practically immune! However, the post from 2:16pm yesterday cited the anchor as one of the ones dropped, but Avoreal's post at 11:28pm noted to the effect that her dispel rolls hit CL 12, 13, and 14: no CL15 spells were dispel'd (Avoreal is CL15) so the anchor should be uneffected; some other spell was dispel'd...
"Shield Companion" sez it works like "Shield Other": note that "Shield Other" requires both parties of the spell to wear a gold ring worth 50gp. Many companions cannot wear rings. Does that mean the spell cannot be used with such companions? Or is the ring requirement waived? Is it half waived (master still must have ring), or all the way (no rings required)? Given how "Shield Other" is written, does it make any sense to require one party to have a ring, and the other needs no matching ring? Given that "Shield Companion" only works with a specific companion, would rings be needed at all? The spell should know who to effect, without rings being involved...
oh! hi guys -- sorry for the delay: I got home a while ago (I cannot check forums at work) and didn't see the last few posts at first -- I didn't know the forum had paged to page 2! I don't know how to post Duhwoo X. McKeener's character sheet, but I will be at DrBuzzard/Vars' house in a couple of hours -- he should be able to instruct me... Duhwoo's PFS # is 10468-1
Congrats on a job well done! You've personified the RMPathfinders in a natural and seemingly easy fashion, and served us well for two years. The bar has been set high for your replacement. You truly deserve gratitude from all of the Rocky Mountain region's Pathfinders. Thanks, and Happy Trails! FRITZ
goal: use MoMS to complete Crane style chain at 2nd level... 1st level character feat = Crane Style
It looks to me like this is legitimate, following the rules straight out of Ultimate Combat -- I can have a 2nd level Monk who already has Crane Riposte. Is there something I'm missing? Can I run this guy in Pathfinder Society? FRITZ
I have the wrong faction problem for my #2 PFS character (10468-2, named "Bitter") -- he seems to have inherited the same faction of my first character (Duhwoo/Taldor), and I see no way to change Bitter to Osirion...is it possible for users to correct the faction, or does someone at Paizo have to do it? |
