Please accept this as my formal notice of withdrawal.

You're a lovely bunch of people, but I'm having to cut back on my games due to time and energy/motivation. I don't want to leave you in the lurch so I'm fine with Zaia becoming an NPC for the time being until you find another player to replace me. I think I'm also feeling burned out by online gaming and reassessing priorities as a whole. GM Tarondor, can you please inactivate me from the game.

I wish you all the best and happy gaming. Maybe we'll see each other on the boards in the future.

Thank you,
Zaia. :)

Zaia is already with the group per my last post. She's standing beside Wymond and behind Perfire per the map.

Zaia followed her male companions to the entrance of the green glass castle and lit the torch in her hand, readying herself to return into the dark interior and the cunning, hidden goblins among other things. She looked to Triath, "You can stay with me, behind the others, or be with your master. The decision is yours," giving the pig a soft smile, having grown accustomed to its company.

At the entrance, the priestess listened for any sounds of threats near/inside the entrance.

Perfire had himself suggested they might return to town to earn coin and now was saying the opposite. The priestess scowled a little at the Halfling's changeable mind but held her tongue. To Wymond she merely responded, "As you wish," but directed it to all three males, too tired to debate or argue the point.

Once camp was set, Zaia laid out her woollen blanket and sat cross-legged and began her hourly prayers to Desna; preparing her spells for the coming day. Once done, she ate Wymond's prepared food and then wrapping the blanket around herself, went to sleep.

-----

In the morning, she stretched, folded and stowed her blanket in her pack, undertook her brief ablution before silently breaking her fast with the others. She kept an eye out on the woods and the tower in the distance as the males found wood with which to create new torches from.

Thank you, all. My mum's out of surgery, but is still out of it from the anaethesia and pain meds. If all goes well post-op, she will begin physio next week to get her back on her feet and walking again.

I'm dead tired, so I'll try to post soon.

Posted.

This weekend (starting tomorrow for me) will be extremely busy. I'll post when I am able.

I'll be out of town the next couple of days as my mum will be having surgery. I'll try and post from my phone when I'm not at the hospital.

Zaia had followed the others out, her torch still in hand. She drew a sigh of relief at leaving the dark confines of the ruin and the goblin archers and shaman inside. She had taken her belongings with her, so she had little to do at present but listen as the others talked.

"I believe it is wise to return to town and look for other work to make coin so we can better prepare for our foray back into the ruin. We entered ill prepared and we almost lost a life." The priestess kept her voice soft and steady as she was not rebuking her male companions, simply stating the facts as she knew them to be. "If something were to happen this night, as we camped near the ruin, I would have no magic with which to heal any of you until the morn and after i have prepared my spells."

Female Human Cleric 1, AC 14, T12, FF12 / HP 10/10, F+3 R+2 W+5 / CMB +0, CMD 12/ Channel Energy 0/6/ Init +2, Perc. +3

"What if we give chase and it leads us to more of the goblins in the darkness? I am no tactician and I will abide by your wisdom on the matter. But know this," lowering her voice so only the small party could hear, "I have no healing magic remaining this day. If we are hit, I only have my healer's kit to stem the blood flow and it is not limitless. I am sorry."

Female Human Cleric 1, AC 14, T12, FF12 / HP 10/10, F+3 R+2 W+5 / CMB +0, CMD 12/ Channel Energy 0/6/ Init +2, Perc. +3

@Yirrik: Thanks, that was quicker. :)

@Wymond: The armour thing didn't even concern me all that much. But I agree - We can't keep moving through the ruin when there are no safe places to hole up and some people don't have their belongings etc. This whole complete darkness thing due to magical light not working inside the ruin is not helpful as we're constantly needing torches and we're going to run out of those soon enough (as they only last 1 hour each and we already have 5 lit). I guess we didn't do our due diligence and ask someone about light inside the ruins (or one of the npcs could have told/warned us :p). If we continue and there are more goblins hiding/lurking in the shadows with bows, then we won't get very far as there's no magical healing left this day.

Female Human Cleric 1, AC 14, T12, FF12 / HP 10/10, F+3 R+2 W+5 / CMB +0, CMD 12/ Channel Energy 0/6/ Init +2, Perc. +3

Zaia realised she was still clutching the iron butterfly even after her channelling had been completed and Wymond rose from the stone floor. She let it go flat against her chest.

Regaining her wits, she moved back to her previous place by the door (5ft), began to softly cast and then reached around the open door, and laid her hand on Yirrik's shoulder, imbuing him with some divine guidance.

Once she was done, she removed her sling and a bullet from her belt and held them in hand; her lit torch remaining on the ground by her feet for now.

Guidance cast on Yirrik: +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. Duration 1 min or until discharged.

Female Human Cleric 1, AC 14, T12, FF12 / HP 10/10, F+3 R+2 W+5 / CMB +0, CMD 12/ Channel Energy 0/6/ Init +2, Perc. +3

I'm honestly a little deflated (read this as a lot) at the moment. Even when we try to barricade ourselves somewhere - to hole up for the night - conserve our resources - we're set upon. And Zaia has no more healing. Please guys don't try anything that will get you seriously injured or killed. Why are we not using the other alchemist's fires in the sack Yirrik has? Zaia took one out for her own use before we even entered the ruins, but I'm sure Yirrik brought the sack with him. At this stage, I can't remember what else is in the sack given to us by the Pathfinder. I may need to go back in the entries.

Female Human Cleric 1, AC 14, T12, FF12 / HP 10/10, F+3 R+2 W+5 / CMB +0, CMD 12/ Channel Energy 0/6/ Init +2, Perc. +3

Concerned for her companions while trying to conserve her healing magic was taking a toll on Zaia, especially now with Wymond down and unmoving. The goblins were relentless and she was only one person. Dropping her torch on the ground by her feet, Zaia stepped back 5ft and lifting her iron holy symbol drew Desna's divine power unto her and then released it out to all her stalwart companions, hoping to exclude an injured enemy.

Channel Energy with Selective Channelling: 1d6 ⇒ 6 (Excludes 1 enemy)

Her companions receive 6 hit points each from the channel. I believe since it's a 30ft radial burst from Zaia and she's directly inline with an open doorway that it reaches Wymond, too.

No more healing magic left for the day. Unfortunately people get hit a lot and consistently. :(

With torch in her off hand, Zaia begins softly casting and takes a 5ft step forward. Crouching a little, she reaches around the doorway and touches Wymond's head as he lies prone on the stone ground.

Perfire, you have Guidance on you and it lasts a minute or until it's discharged. So, it won't go to waste.

You have the Alchemist's Fire to use later. I'm okay with dismissing the grease spell on your next turn since Clanky is dead or close to it.

Seeing the magical automation go down, Zaia was momentarily relieved one significant opponent was out of the fight. Seeing her wounded allies, and knowing her healing magic was almost all gone for the day, she reached inside her pack and removed a flask of alchemist's fire and handed it to Perfire in front of her, "Use it when you can," she whispered to the Halfling Sorcerer.

She then laid her hand on his shoulder and began to cast, imbuing the Halfling with some of Desna's divine guidance.

Wymond, Zaia placed Guidance on you earlier in the round. You can use the +1 on your Will Save to make the DC of 9.

Zaia softly sighed at seeing Yirrik hurt by a flying arrow and knowing Wymond was hurt also. She did not possess enough magic to heal the two of them, let alone the whole group, at this rate. There had to be a way to get out of this chamber and soon.

Seeing the prone paladin, Zaia stepped 5 ft back to make room for Yirrik. Bending down a little, she touched her hand to Wymond and began to cast, asking Desna to infuse the paladin with some of her divine guidance in hopes it could help him a little.

Cast Guidance on Wymond: +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check.

Sorry for the hold up - just a full-on day.

Zaia moved forward 20ft, and, from around the corner of the door tried to strike the prone magical automation with her starknife.

Attack with Starknife: 1d20 + 0 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 0 + 4 - 4 = 15

I was waiting on Yirrik to see what he would do as there's no room to move (at the door) to attack said creature with melee weapon currently as both Yirrik and Wymond are occupying the squares by the door. I was hoping Yirrik would attack and move out of the way and then I'd have Zaia act this round.

Before Wymond moves back to attack the magical automation per Perfire's suggestion, she touches the paladin's arm and casts Guidance, imbuing him with a small portion of Desna's divine grace. (Standard action)

Holding the torch in her offhand, Zaia removes the starknife from her belt and holds it ready in her true hand. (Move action)

Wymond gets a +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. Last 1 minute or until discharged.

(Zaia would have quickly shared this tidbit of info with the rest of the party: It's a magical automation, possibly related to the Azlanti builders of the green castle. Its bodily adds-ons are probably the goblins' doing. She also warns that this armoured monster is still somewhat powerful (though not as much as it once was) and has abilities beyond her ken.)

She heard a goblin's voice coming from the darkness behind the prone automation. Gesturing for quiet, she quickly lifted her torch off the ground by her feet and carefully and slowly opened the door a little (once her companions were ready/close and prepared) and peered/peeked out in case some of the goblins were waiting on their very doorstep. (Checking to see it's clear of immediate threat before opening the door wide and exiting)

Zaia called out to the paladin, "Wymond, don't stand so close to it!"

"What is that thing? What can it do?" she quietly called out, pondering if she had seen such a thing as it before or had heard of one. "Perfire, have you come across such a creature?"

Untrained Know. Arcana (DC 10) to aid?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Zaia, seeing Perfire begin to shift the rubble away from the door closest her, begins to work on it as well, hoping that together they can push the rock/rubble away from the door so they had a way out, away from the menacing creature in the other doorway. What a waste of time and effort putting this in place only to tear it away so soon, she mused to herself.

Okay, thanks for clarifying as I wasn't sure and kind of lost track of which doors were what to be honest.

So, yes, the other door has rubble before it so we'd have to move it out of the way so we can flee. A good hefty push of the rubble could do it, perhaps?

Female Human Cleric 1, AC 14, T12, FF12 / HP 10/10, F+3 R+2 W+5 / CMB +0, CMD 12/ Channel Energy 0/6/ Init +2, Perc. +3

Yes, but I guess we need to remove the rubble before it. But I thought the goblins were on the other side of that door, threatening to smoke us out/burn us alive?

Zaia gasps at the sight of the juggernaut. She stands from the chair and reaches out and touches Wymond as Yirrik helps him with his armour, asking Desna to bestow upon the knight some of her very much needed luck.

Bit of Luck on Wymond: You can touch a willing creature as a standard action, giving it a bit of luck. For the next round, any time the target rolls a d20, he/she may roll twice and take the more favorable result. Used 3/6 times this day.

She diligently worked beside Wymond and moved the rubble against each door. After she was done she felt the tug on her sleeve and turned to listen to Perfire's request.

Since she had asked a lot of him when it came to dispersing the last goblin, Zaia heeded Perfire's concern and pulling down her sleeves, picked up the torch on the ground and moved to the bodies piled by the northern wall. Holding Desna's holy symbol in her hand, the young priestess began to speak the quiet last words in the shut off/secured chamber,

"May the gods of these goblins judge their deeds in life and take their souls unto them. They fought cleverly and boldly until their last breath. Now their journey is done and may their souls find rest and peace." Zaia paused silently for a moment and then carefully pushed the holy symbol back inside her shirt/behind her armour. As she did so, her fingers brushed up against the locket hidden there also and she gently stroked the lid, feeling a certain peace fill her mind and heart, before setting herself right.

Moving back from the bodies she looked to Perfire and asked quietly, "Did they have a blanket in their possession? Perhaps we can cover their bodies while we are in this room?"

No longer hearing the shrieking coming from the goblins in the other chamber and now listening to the loud snoring instead, Zaia took a 5ft step closer to stand beside Perfire. She heard Yirrik say to quickly dispatch the goblins and she looked to Perfire. "As a healer, I cannot do such a thing. Will you help Wymond and Yirrik run through the sleeping goblins?"

She called out quietly to Wymond and Yirrik, "Once you are done and if you require healing, please come to me and I shall do what I can in Desna's name." She tossed one of the lit torches inside the dim lit chamber to help them see better/further.

Once the three goblins are dispatched (once the light shows the invisible one also), Zaia will channel energy to heal Wymond and Yirrik.

Channel Positive Energy to heal her allies with selective channelling: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Yirrik and Wymond will get 5 hp back. This brings Wymond back up to full hp and Yirrik at 11/13 HP.

"My healing magic is almost spent for the day. We need to find a safe place to rest and hide for the night," she whispered to her companions.

One more use of channel energy this day and no more CLW spells left this day. Guys, we're running out of healing magic quickly ... We may need to find a safe place to spend the night and rest up ...Shrugs.

Seeing the others move deeper into the ruins, Zaia bent down to pick up the torch on the ground and carrying both torches in addition to the sling in her hands, Zaia moved cautiously forward to stand behind Perfire.

"What's happening?", she whispered to Perfire.

It's been a very busy couple of days for me. I'll post later tonight as I'm prepping dinner for the fam now.

Seeing the torches left behind, Zaia picks up both and quietly calls to Triath, "Let's get closer to the others. We can't afford to be left behind."

She moves 10ft to stand beside Perfire (Triath moves 10 ft and stands behind Zaia) and tosses one of the torches down by the opening on her right hand side. Holding her torch and the sling in her off hand, Zaia touches Perfire's shoulder, imbuing the Halfling with a bit of Desna's luck.

She keeps eyes and ears open for signs of danger coming from the tunnel to her right side.

Perfire: Bit of Luck - For the next round, anytime you roll a d20, you may roll twice and take the more favourable result.

Zaia takes a 5ft step to the door's threshold and throws her lit torch before her into the chamber with Perfire and Wymond to provide them with more light against the goblins. She draws her sling from her belt and laying her other hand on Yirrik, imbues the ranger with a bit of Desna's luck.

Yirrik: Bit of Luck - For the next round, anytime you roll a d20, you may roll twice and take the more favourable result.

Zaia, torch in her off hand, called quietly to Triath, and both moved up to stand behind Wymond and Yirrik. "You go first and we will follow and do what we can from behind," she said quietly to the paladin and ranger.

For now, Zaia will wait to see what happens. She will move forward, staying behind the males and then she will act if need be.
