Sorry thought someone cast haste but that was in the previous combat!

Actually I mentioned that Fung would be 5-foot in the air when he did his 5-foot step (or float). I've repositioned him, and from its path, Fung would get an AoO? Even if it had moved diagonally up and back, the 2nd square 2 diagonals away would still be within reach?

I'll roll the AoO just in case.

Since Fung has reach, would he have an AoO when it moved out of its 2nd square? I'm not sure what its path was.

Moving through the rain isn't difficult terrain right? So Fung could 5-foot step diagonally closer and come with reach with his reach weapon? (So he's 5-foot up in the air.) Asking 'cos if he could full attack, that would give him 3 attacks.

Fung is gasping badly from the multiple wounds he's taken, but he pushes it aside, focusing his attention on the now visible floating wisp. He fights the driving rain to summon his winds to bring himself just close enough his for his lashes to attack.

Fearing the creature might be immune to electricity, he instead summons forth a whip of spinning air, empowered from the reserves he still has within, as he slams the whip three times in rapid succession at the creature.

Fung drifts back (5-foot step) to hopefully get out of reach of the invisible creature, pulls out a vial and downs the content.

The scroll of see invisibility could help. Only targets you but at least one person can target it. Barring that, obscuring mist would make everyone nonvisible to everyone. :)

Haste might also help to give us more attacks, i.e. more chances to land a strike despite the miss chance.

It seems to be doing sonic damage so resist energy would help at least 1 person.

Just a note that Fung effectively has 24hp left, because of the nonlethal damage he takes from his burn.

Ok, so it's probably quite futile to keep attacking the legs. Fung will draw the grey thing to the ground so that the melee ones can attack it.

Gasping in pain from the repeated strikes, Fung commands the winds to bring him on an evasive descend to the ground, hoping to draw whatever's attacking to follow along.
Acrobatics vs CMD: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32 Fung would now be at the ground level.

Not sure what the rules are on this, but can he command his air wysp familiar to get his potion of cure serious wound into his hand? Since Fung has used his move action to descend to the ground. If so...
He calls out to his wysp companion, who draws forth a small vial from his pouch into his hand.

Hmm, should have taken an AOE infusion.

Unsure what unseen creature has attacked him, Fung decided practically to still focus on what can be seen, and hope for the best.

He dismisses the whip of air just as he summons a crackling bolt of electricity that he wields in his hand and he brings it down repeatedly on the remaining leg in two quick successions.

Just in case it wasn't clear, forgot to mention that the strike is bludgeoning but think it didn't affect anything. Also for my understanding, Pink wasn't flat-footed and was able to make an AoO?

Almost immediately when the legs extend from the ground, Fung blasts towards the one on his left, circling around it as much as he can (60ft movement). He manifests a swirling whip of cyclonic air and slams it into his target.

Fung will keep himself 5 feet above the height of the leg. It likely has reach anyway, so might not make a difference but trying my luck to keep out of reach.

Ah, I get where you're coming from. Kinetic Blast are SLA and provokes AoO. However, infusions in themselves are supernatural abilities which typically don't provoke AoO.

What complicates things is that most infusions modify kinetic blast. So if a kineticist uses, say, bowling infusion with his earth blast, while the bowling infusion doesn't provoke AoO, you can't use it without also using kinetic blast, which will provoke. However, if you read the description, kinetic blade (and it's derivatives like kinetic whip) is different because it doesn't actually modify a kinetic blast. Instead, it forms a blade that does the same damage as a kinetic blast. It doesn't actually get rid of the SLA. Instead, the kineticist never activated a kinetic blast in the first place, i.e. no AoO. Hope that helps.

And oh yes, this is the reason also why a kineticist can do iterative attacks and hasted attacks with kinetic blade/whip. A kinetic blast is an SLA which is a standard action, i.e. can't make full attack action. But a kinetic blade/whip doesn't activate kinetic blast and is used as part of an attack action, and hence it can.

Separately, using a kinetic blast actually provokes AoO twice - once for activating an SLA and another for making a range attack. I learnt that the hard way early on in Fung's career...

Yes, kineticist is a rather complicated class and even after playing Fung for a number of years, I still have to look up the rules from time to time.

GM, kinetic blade and kinetic whip do not provoke AoOs. "Since it’s part of another action (and isn’t an action itself), using this wild talent doesn’t provoke any additional attacks of opportunity."

I know it is confused, but Fung can make 3 attacks with his whip, which hopefully can take out the leader.

I mentioned earlier that Fung is flying 5 feet above the pech and can still reach with his kinetic whip. He'll now 5-foot step higher, so should be out of reach of the pech's kinetic whip.

Sighing a brief sigh of relief that one of the creatures has been taken down, Fung turns his attention to the larger and dives towards it.

I'm assuming the creature is 15ft in height, and Fung will be using kinetic whip so has reach. So he'll stay at 25ft above ground so be able to hit the creature, but should be out of its reach? Please adjust if I'm off.

Thanks for the bot. This first strike wouldn't have taken any burn as Infusion Specialisation would have negated the 2 burn for activating kinetic whip.

Seeing the creatures attack from all sides, Fung hovers in the air, and starts to summon a whirlwind around him, while simultaneously sets electricity sparking. He strains with the effort and finally, let's the storm loose upon the creature attacking Zeno.

Once through the portal, Fung's demeanour changes subtly, his attention focused on the area around him. Almost immediately, he rises into the air without seemingly thinking about it, taking in the surroundings from a different perspective.

Fung joins the group quietly, so quietly that when you notice him, you wonder if he was walking on air. And when you look closely, although partially hidden by his long robes, you notice indeed that he is! When you examine him further, he realise that although there is hardly any draft in the room, his robes and long hair are constantly being gently tossed about by a gentle breeze. And the closer you move towards him, the more you feel an aura of static electricity that surrounds him.

He looks rather ill at ease, standing (or floating) awkwardly to one side, unsure of himself, and waits for a break in the conversations to introduce himself. "Um... hello. My name is Xuan Fung, but please call me Fung. Do you know why we've been summoned here?"

An exhausted Fung gradually drifts down to the ground, mentally tired from the perilous journey with some unexpected surprises. But that has pretty much the norm since his master convinced him to join the Society, if anything to get his powers under his control. They have, and them some.

He recalls with some lingering sympathy for Lady Aroden's misguided mission but he let's it go with a sigh, taking it as a lesson that some things in life you just can't hold on too tightly.

"Well, that was certainly a wild ride, but I think we did quite well, didn't we?" Fung grins.

Rather uncharacteristically, Fung floats down to land on the ground. If the party is indeed treating with her in good faith, the least he could do was to do so humbly on the ground.

Just tossing this out here with no mechanical roll. His aid won't do much to the Lya's roll :). Also, of all the other skills mentioned, Fung won't be of much help. He was built for dexterity (stealth, disable device, acrobatics) and haven't quite figured out yet how that would help here.

Just want to point out though that burn can’t be healed and only resets upon resting. “ For each point of burn she accepts, a kineticist takes 1 point of nonlethal damage per character level. This damage can’t be healed by any means other than getting a full night’s rest, which removes all burn and associated nonlethal damage.” Also, burn is only capped by Con (3 + Con specifically).

Would regaining daily use of power apply to burn? And if so, since he can activate burn 10 times a day, could he regain 4 in total if he selects that option twice?

Fung had started pulling out his thieves' tools to get work on the general's shackles but Faustus cuts the chains off like butter, and now, according to Roderick, he wants to keep the shackles? He frowns, shrugs, and put the tools back.

He then hovers up in the air, keeping an eye out for danger. (Not built for socialisation.)
