As he always does when interpreting, he points at Sandwhisper while relating the story he was just told.
"He drink water while waiting, feel good-good. Then jump in water. Now feel very alive. Goodwater in pool."
Rackham Pulsifer wrote:
"Make sure you cook those. You don't want them hatching in there."
"You got fire?"
Pharasma wrote: “Kala kalapanza,” Sandwhisper says. "He find gold and jewels."
Wetsands grabs a few eggs and throws them into his sack.
"Wetsands never eat giant scorpion eggs yet. Try for lunch."
Jumps down, pulls out a sack, and start tossing in steaming, volt-roasted scorpion... after pulling off the tails.
To everyone standing around the mother scorpion: "Someone cut big scorp tail. Many gold. Don't eat. Big scorp no taste good."
To Pulisfer: "This tasty. You have salt?"
<Sniff, sniff.>
"Lunchtime, tasties!"
<Sniff, sniff.>
"The dead."
<Sniff, sniff.>
"Scorpions."
Rackham Pulsifer wrote:
"... Infection of this parasite is known to cause dementia, a gradual loss of magical ability, loss of brain function, and eventually death. Cure can be had through the usual divine methods of removing diseases. It's progress can be slowed and maybe even stopped through judicious dispelling of magic on the host."
"No eat Calebra?"
Wetsands intends to put this thing away but almost hacks his toes off with a wild chop.
1d20 4=5, 1d6=1
Wetsands bobs and weaves, lashing at it with his axe again and this time sending up a splatter of guts onto the beautifully carved walls.
Att, Dam: (1d20 4=22, 1d6=4)
"Gasta... Wetsands after Cordoba."
Moves to M3. He swings at the scorpion with his axe, taking a chunk out of it. Att: 1d20 4=20, Dam: 1d6 3=4
"Kill-you-dead poison. Yes."
Scorpion finding post shortly.
"Sandwhisper smell scorpion."
He looks at the Bhuka Scorpion.
"No him. Big-big scorpion. Hunt night."
Scratches his head.
"Scorpion want outside. We find hole?"
"Surgery room. Empty now."
The Deceiver wrote: Are there any signs that Calebra has been through any of the rooms where the door is only five feet wide? "Calebra come here long ago. Go surgery. Big but still through."
Wetsands is sniffing and creeping around.
"Something live surgery. Smell bug."
Aref Sami Shahrokh wrote: We are already no escape bad-bad. If we make Calebra fight on our terms then we have an advantage. It dies or we die, there is no escape. Wetsand indicates the other doors. "Maybe back door? Maybe better place attack."
He points up. "Maybe Calebra watch us right now."
Aref Sami Shahrokh wrote: Perhaps we could look like we are fleeing the beast from the main chamber when it shows up by running into it's lair....
"No escape bad-bad."
"Yes, Cordoba, Calebra tracks here."
Looks back.
"What in other doors?"
Syd wrote: "So, we gotta find this Calabra feller and then shove off out of it? 'Ere, Wetsands, where we gotta go now?" "Me not know. Hide place ambush Calebra? Me think here dangerous. Maybe kill them."
At this he pokes his thumb at the dead bodies. He watches the rope in the center of the chamber nervously.
"Calebra big. Doors go smaller hallways. There Calebra no fly."
Standing slowly, brushing sand off himself: "Balooki! Me no like that again."
"Rope enough. Long as mesa high."
Syd:
"Big room. Wetsands' father's father's father here see big statue Aroden."
"Ok we now see, daddy Bohdan - watch."
Wetsands pulls out another torch and lights it off Cordoba's.
He crouches low and throws it from his side of the hole almost horizontally like a man skipping a stone at the beach.
"You go Cordoba?"
Wetsands pulls a torch out of his satchel and hands it to Cordoba, then proceeds to light it with flint and tinder.
"See later."
The Deceiver wrote: "This Calebra must be a terrific climber to say the least." "Calebra fly."
Wetsands leans over the edge of the hole.
"HAY LAPA NO YA, CALEBRA!"
Wetsands tosses a rock in the hole. It falls... for a long time. The hole seems as deep as the mesa is high.
"Lo chooka!"
"Me think Calebra out. New tracks leave. Jon Qiang agree?"
"Tokala ba chalaka."
Wetsands looks in hole.
"Calebra return soon. Go in hide?"
Scratches his head.
"Maybe Calebra in."
"Jackalope tasty. So you not climb Aref? Haha. No look down. Pray Pharasma lots."
Wetsands waves his hands at the other Bhuka.
"See fah luto eetheen, ee yaba ma dukey massa.
Eeth wong che coh pa na-geen, nah meeto toe bunky dunko.
Lo choda!"
"You pray Pharasma Cordoba? We big risk now. You play dice good?"
"Well. We too fast die. Calebra see we dead. Big problem. We pray Pharasma now."
"Nugala, Sushurra."
To Syd: "Sandwhisper want race. Me too fat."
"Me no understand you Sydley. You make knots good-good. Me live you teach me?"
Wetsands scrambles up the sand built up against the side of the monstrous stone tower. He pats it and looks down at you.
"Calebra's Tower. Dead god temple."
"Me like fight next Bohdan and Sydley. Orcsons strong like Bigstones but smarter."
That huge goblin grin.
"We tomorrow eat Calebra."
Aref Sami Shahrokh wrote:
Thank you, gracious one. *stamp, stamp, stamp* I agree!
When should we go?
*stomp, stomp, stomp*
"Go evening Calebra hunt? Eat food. Gather rope."
As the sun drops from the noon sky Wetsands and his three soldiers get some supplies together.
The Bhuka chatter amongst themselves for a long time with much pointing and hand waving. As they finish there is some foot stomping among those who seem to be his lieutenants, and Bigstones, his burly lotus-addled brother.
"Wetsands come with. These Sandwhisper, Palmseed and Scorpion come too. Bigstones mightiest protect tribes. Tribes most important - many warriors."
He gestures toward three other Bhuka who smile and nod while he's talking. Two are gracile while the third, Palmseed presumably, is stout and has a head like a... well... a coconut.
"Agreed?"
This is the part where you stamp your feet.
Nods at Katella. "Brave."
To the PCs: "You want kill Calebra maybe Bhuka help. But Calebra badbad strong."
Ryor Saar'Narlok wrote: What is Calebra? I wanna meet him and give him some cheese.Yes you take me to Calebra now eh? "Calebra flying lion ugly face. Probably like cheese. You short walk there now. Bigstones finish crap you there." At this Wetsands points out the cave opening.
"Ryor cheese tasty. Ryor climb rocks good?"
"Really, you want kill Calebra? If you go Calebra then Calebra not go you."
"Only Bhuka here. No flyng things. No digging things. Only door."
He gestures to the crumbling walls within.
"Use stones build wall at entrance. No scorpions then. This Calebra's place, he most danger here. Kill Calebra walk safe."
"After now, Bhuka hunt north east. Say goodbye tonight."
Wetsands leads you back into the cave to a crevasse in the rock that drops straight down into blackness.
"Water. Twenty Bhuka height down, maybe more. Use rope and bag."
