Hey sorry all, I've been sick with Covid past few days, and will be dealing with that. I'll try to post if possible, but feel free to bot me. Just notifying my games.
Varian jogs up to the boar, thrusting the tip of the blade towards its side. Though, perhaps he is to used to dueling human opponents, as he is about two inches too short to deal significant damage as the blade pierces the boar.
I've played since around 2010. I've never had an actual character death. That said, I've played very little PFS.
I remember asking once, or at least I think I asked- Would you be open to allowing inspired blade to work with the Estoc rather than the rapier?
Varian moves to finish off the boar that literally speared itself. Well, not much to it then, ey? He says, as he attempts to run the other boar through with his blade.
Varian will stand up, drawing his blade and shield as he does so blinking the sleep from his eyes. Beasts huh? Well, shouldn't be to troublesome, right boys? He flourishes his blade and casts light on it mid flourish to give off a small show.
Hmm.. a night out under the stars? And offering to share a tent even though we've just met. Why, how bold and romantic Kieran! He lets his jest sit for a few seconds before continuing. While I'm very flattered, I think, unless it suddenly start raining, my bedroll will do just fine. Though, I suppose we will want a fire, and something to eat would be nice. Oh, and I'll play the music to inspire those doing the other two things of course. He gives a smile and a chuckle.

Then we have, of course, thraag the older, and thraag the younger. Both of whom are quite lovely to for conversation. Oh, this. He says resting a hand on Keiran's shoulder. Is a new fellow in town. Come to learn some... well, come with a goal, but so graciously has set it aside to help out the townsfolk. Quite the eventful day to be sure. Ah, and good Marcus. Varian notices Rufus and gives him a wave. Good day friend, I hope it finds you well. But yes, It may be best to keep close to your homes for the next few days, as Grahm has said.
Aye, I'm sure I can get us out of most scrapes, and, if I can't, our gallant knight to be surely can. Thats not even bringing the rest of you into the equation either. He smiles giving a wink. I wanted to do this to look for the woman... but, I'd rather not take the kid into that kind of danger.. dang.
Perhaps you could come and look at a scene we found? Our little pooch seems to have just up and vanished into a bramble with no trace of a trail or anything. I had the thought to try and burn some of the bramble, but decided that was a bit to risky all things considered. Well, too risky as of yet. That said... Its said dogs can hear things we cannot, I do wonder if such a thing has lured them away... I also wonder if I could do a thing to stop such a sound should that be the case. Varian half talks to everyone, half talks to himself as he scratches the scruff on his chin.
Varian goes to speak, but smiles, surprised, at Thraag. He gives a chuckle and a grin, letting him take the lead for now. He was doing a good enough job.
Varian continues to walk around the larger area past the brambles, tapping the side of his head as he does so, widening the area he searches.
Hmmm... welp, nothing left to do but fan out and look around. You all are too quick to consider complicit and ill intent. Perhaps Brus got tired of attending the dog, perhaps some kids are playing a prank, or, perhaps, someone is setting Brus up. Either way, we can't say anything for sure yet. Though, I think I would like to go back and talk to our stiff-laced Butler. He looks around, and starts to wander off. Well, anyway, lets spread out and look around the area for anything else. Who knows, we may just find something interesting. Varian starts to wander off from the scene to the left

Honestly this type of stuff isn't my forte, I know a few things about plants, and the like but uh, not following stuff so lead the way. Ahhh man. After waving to the other group Varian gives a smile and a salute to Nikolai. I wouldn't dream of it sir. Not while poor pets pray for preservation! Before wandering over to the Grahm and his knights. Varian gives a nod to both Thraags. Thraag, thraag, hows it going? Not giving the fish too hard a time I hope? Then gives a glance towards Marcus. Unsure of what exactly to say for once in his life before giving a shrug. At Grahms words Varian smiles, but hesitates every so slightly. Hm, This might be harder than I thought. Yes, good squire, I fear we've not met, as I was away when you came to town. But, I have heard about you, and when I saw you with good Sir Eustus I knew instantly since you had the bearing of a real knight. But come now, you should know that every crisis should be handled carefully. He makes sure that Kieran has Mrs. Pumpherus sufficiently distracted before continuing. Though he does wince for Kierans predicament. Sorry buddy, but I've heard that dogs regiment three times in my life already, and honestly if I heard it one more time I'd probably have it memorized by heart. I mean, What if the poor thing is being hounded by some vicious animal? I'll even let you take the credit for leading us if you want. He gives another glance to Marcus before looking back to Grahm.

After getting nothing but a hard stare from Nikolai, Varian scans the vicinity before his eyes alight on Grahm. Ah, now if I were to take the new squire, I'm sure Nikolai would be fine with it. I'm sure I'll be able to convince him to help an old lady out. Then, its one simple push to go a bit further. As he thinks about it, his grin turns that mischievous tint before he suddenly remembers Nikolai knows that grin all to well. He coughs a few times, acting as if he is clearing his throat before returning to his more neutral smile. I'll even bring Sir Eustus's new squire along, that way you'll know I'm not getting up to trouble. Besides, you got bigger things to worry about right now anyway right? At Kieran's unforseen offer, Varian glances back before speaking. Thats a good idea! He says turning back to Kieran, Well, you are new to town, so doing some kind deeds would be a great introduction... afterwards I could even.. show him around! The whole place of course. He waves and shouts over towards Grahm. Good sir! You would love to help a wonderful woman find her dearest pet companion would you not?! When he actually notices the company Grahm is keeping, his smile dips a little bit.
I love the idea that Varian is using this dog hunt as an excuse to look for the Shoanti woman, mostly. He'll keep his eyes out for the pooch too haha. Meanwhile, Grahm is totally full focused on searching for the dog.
Varian pauses as the speech and ensuing commotion starts he smiles. Well, I fear you might have missed her, but... Come on, I might can get you close enough to speak to them. Varian quickly saunters over to Nikolai and Mrs. Pumpherus, almost forcing Kieran along before gently pushing him off towards Elrithrathiel. Ah, well it seems duty calls yet again, don't worry Mrs. Pumpherus, while the good sheriff is off chasing bounties, He pauses to give a wink to Nikolai to show he is making a jest. I'll make sure to do all I can to find your little Tricia. You know you can trust me. Now why don't you show me where you last saw them? He gives a nod to Nikolai.

Varian had been back for almost a month and had discovered, nothing much had changed. Save perhaps him. He had been more withdrawn for a few weeks after returning, having had a couple sobering experiences where for once he had to sit and think about some things rather than waving them away with a smile and joke or song. Of course, he hadn't worked a day since his return, couldn't let people think he'd gone "normal" now could he? He stood among the crowd as he does on those rare occasions he is not the center of attention. Though he likely can't help but catch peoples eyes what with his garishly colorful and eloquent attire purchased from the city during his trip. His Blade resting in its scabbard at his hilt, and his instrument strung up on his back. Upon noticing Marcus, Varian gives a cocky smile and wave of his fingers in a friendly but maybe demeaning way. At Pullia's gesture, Varian returns it in kind with a playful smirk added along side a small flourish of a hat. Sending his long wavy hair flowing. Though, when he notices her wave to the ward, he frowns slightly and continues to scan the crowd before noticing the new face. His eyes narrow slightly in surprise before a smile spreads across his lips and he saunters over to the newcomer. Ah, well a hearty hello to you! I assume it is tales of myself that bring you to our small town?
hello gents and ladies. Prepare to fall head over heels for me lol. Working on filling out items/gear and the like. Still debating between a few archetypes, though Likely it will only come down to arcane duelist or not. and on what feats I will be keeping, debating between Dodge, improved Initiative, step up, blind fight, and a combat maneuver. I may also end up taking a couple rogue levels, but thats a fair ways away. Also, there were no profile images adequate enough to truly captivate Varian's flamboyancy, so please take a look at the link to the image I based him on for a better idea of both his look, and his character.
Varion should hold the line decently well. Since early on he will likely be making use of a shield. After that, we shall see.

His wife and child were never found, dead or alive, when he returned to his small cabin having been burned down. IC: Namely, my wife, Amelia, and child Maria. I'll not bore you with the details, but suffice to say I don't speak to them anymore. Also yes, because I see no need to tell you anything more at the time. 3) Quirks to be aware of?
IC: Other than being dashingly handsome, intelligent, and great personality, with a fondness for alcohol? None, Can't you tell? I'm perfect in every way. 4) What unsettles your PC?
IC: Uptight bastards what ask a lot of questions. Not much else. He says with a grin. 5) Particular goals in life?
IC: To see justice done and debts paid. Especially to those that keep on asking me stupid questions.
If I took the ranger combat style Weapon+shield, shield master is an option for the 6th level feat (prerequisites not required) I'm still undediced if I will be making use of said style and shield, as it would require dropping some quality of life feats from the plan until later levels. I will have IC answers to the posed questions either tonight or tomorrow night.

After this, I don't really know, The other thought was to take weapon+shield combat style to grab shield master at level 6. Specializations-
I will be using an older alias. I'm planning for Varian to have lost his family due to the bickering and skirmishes between Avlee and Erathia over the contested lands. A conflict having lead to the burning of his home. (If this would be unlikely, I had another idea to tie it in with the recent war against the necros. If that would fit better, please let me know. Either way, he ends up blaming the two nations/governments haha) Whether it was actual forces, or deserters he doesn't care. He blames the two nations all the same. After that, he took to living mostly on his own. He stays in a small cabin(more of a shack really) and when not drinking or smoking himself to bliss is normally either farming a small plot of land, or out hunting. Rumors abound about him possibly working with shady individuals. GM, before I continue wit this further, other than the recent war, is there any recent conflict or potential conflict over the contested lands/harmondale? Just want to make sure I'm writing something that fits. I also had an Idea that he would have been part of the recent war as a scout. (conscripted) Personality wise- Varian has an abrassive, sarcastic attitude, and rarely seems to enjoy much anything. His loses have made him rather cynical and He has no qualms about complaining, or telling someone to bugger off if they ask him for something. But he has a surprising tendency to actually do what he was asked to. If of course, they actually asked. Under the sarcastic and harsh attitude, he still cares for most folks, and while he wouldn't blink an eye if a noble up and died. If he saw it happening, he would likely attempt to intervene. Until they pissed him off. Usually because they started talking. He finds those from Avlee far more agreeable. At least they understand person freedoms. Erathians far too often try to control, dictate or impose themselves, and he can't stand their often self righteous attitude. His biggest weak spot however is hopeful and wholesome things, as such he often shows a softer side to children. He will watch a family happily going about their business and smile. Class wise- I'm thinking Ranger, and I had a few different archetypes in mind I wanted to run by you. 1- Urban Ranger
don't worry, I've gotcha. Varian guards raseri as she regains her senses. (Readied action to strike anything that gets within range. Idk if you can 'ready' a 5ft step and strike or not but if you can then that's what I'll do)

Raseri! Varian moves to strike the creature that downed his companion. He calls upon his innate magic to aid him in this fight. (swift action use arcana point to give blade +1)
He attempts to avoid the sprites blades on his way to aid his fallen companion

Why would they kill harmless birds? It makes no sense to me, as far as I know, there is nothing to be gain from this.. save perhaps warded off the random traveler.
Heh, its ok Mabs, were a lovable bunch so don't have to hide that. Besides, I've always wanted a bird companion. Or pet. Varian gives a grin.
My first group always had a think for bad dice rolls. "when the GM wants you to succeed and do well, the dice will roll poorly," And "when the GM wants to put your character in his place, and make you scratch and bleed for that Mcguffin, the dice will hand it to you on a silver platter" lol this is because a 2nd level encounter that included 5 goblins (fighter 1) with shortbows up in a ceiling rafter almost killed our entire party. (group of 5 mind you) We had to come back the day after XD. When we fought the BBEG +3 minions, we rolled like, 5 20s in a row. (around the table). It was a thing ever since then haha

for the love of.. Have you ever heard if brushing? Ugh Jesus. Varian then stops squirming, and jolts his head forward in a headbutt more out of spite and attempting to get it to stop breathing on him.
