Looking to add catharsis mage dedication at 2nd level to my investigator (does not already cast spells, but has the CHA prerequisite). As such, I would get to choose a cantrip from a spell list of my choice.

Trouble is in the wording of the Remorse Catharsis. Two problems, in fact:

  • The benefit I'd get would be - Emotional Fervor: Any spell you cast that restores Hit Points to the triggering ally gets a status bonus to the Hit Points healed equal to the spell's level, or double the spell's level if the ally is at 0 Hit Points. There are no cantrips that restore HP, so this is useless to my character at this point - am I right?

  • The second question is in the wording of the second half of that emotional fervour listing: Any spell you cast that restores Hit Points to the triggering ally gets a status bonus to the Hit Points healed equal to the spell's level, or double the spell's level if the ally is at 0 Hit Points. The trigger for this emotional fervour is when an ally within 30 feet (the triggering ally) drops to 0 hit points, so it doesn't seem the above statement makes sense at all. The triggering ally has dropped to 0 HP. Any spell I would use to restore HP should get double the spell level, right?

This archetype dedication fits nicely for a roleplaying aspect of my character in the game its in, but it doesn't look like it provides any clear benefit. In addition, the language seems to be confusing. Any thoughts? Thanks for reading.

    Hallo everyone!

I've got a proposition for you. Have you watched the live-action Disney Aladdin film recently and said to yourself, "Gosh, ME, I'd love to get into a PbP Pathfinder 1e Adventure Path involving genies and magic lamps and flying carpets and monkey familiars....."

No?! Ok, must just be me, then.

ANYWHO, I've been running a 4+ year PbP Legacy of Fire AP campaign here on the Paizo boards. We've got five long-term players and I'm looking to add a sixth! No one has dropped out; I just want to mix it up now that they're starting Book 2!

As I said, we have just started Book 2 of this AP. All of the players are 5th level and that's where you'd come in. Here's the breakdown of the team:

    Suli Bloodrager
    Aasimar Oracle of Vildeis
    Gnome Sorcerer
    Gnome Aerokineticist
    Human Flamewarden Ranger
As you can tell, I'm open to non-standard races and classes, but no 3rd party sources, please. We are not using background skills, and you get a 15pt ability score buy with a 4th level ability score boost. I've asked previous submissions to strongly consider the campaign traits in the Players Guide, but it's not a deal-breaker if your character does not include one. Yes, you can have a drawback, but we will lean heavily on it. Your character will have ~10,500gp worth of gear, with no more than ~50% of that represented by a single magic thing (item/weapon/armor).

Now, on to some more interesting aspects of our game. Two of our gamers are children - not even in high school - and they bring an energy and zest that gives our game a joyous feel. That being said, if you aren't comfortable with gaming with children (or your filter doesn't allow for it), then this isn't the game for you. We also have a relaxed posting style befitting the very busy lives that we all lead (hence gaming for 4yrs and only being at the start of Book Two). We have a Discord channel that we use to discuss things, and if you're the right submission for us, then we'll give you access to that.

I'm one of the Pathfinder Society VCs from New Zealand; I'm originally from the US where I was a VC (Asheville NC) prior to moving down under-er a handful of years ago. Regardless, this is the longest-running game I've run on these PbP boards - this is a long-term commitment for the right person.

Who is the right person? We prize flavour over crunch to be sure, but we don't like soggy cereal. We would like your character to be a solid build - and a prepared caster and/or Swiss-army-knife skill-bot would not be the wrong build for our team. We really want a good backstory though, and the ability to play that story through your character.

I'm happy to field any questions. I'll do a short recruitment here and leave this open for the next 120 hrs. In other words, submissions will close at 1000AM on 1st September GMT +12 (i.e. that's 31 August for most of you in the western hemisphere).

    Good luck!

    Hello!

I ordered a Starfinder Core Rulebook as part of this order. When it arrived at my house in New Zealand, the order manifest indicated that the Starfinder Core Rulebook was a part of that shipment, but there was no Starfinder Core Rulebook in the package.

The order has been listed as complete. I don't have the Starfinder Core Rulebook.

I have emailed the CS email 2 weeks ago, but I haven't received any confirmation of that email or a reply.

I've sent another email, but I'm now resorting to this forum as well.

    Thanks!

Why, hello there! I’m GM Dinketry. Welcome to my corner of the Paizo boards. I’m recruiting for a Level 1-4 scenario. Consider yourself invited!

I expect common courtesy, a posting rate of around a post a day (with some leeway during the holidays), and a go-getter spirit. This will be an urban investigation, so consider your dunewalker druid to be a second-tier choice for this game.

I’d like to highlight that kobold characters are VERY WELCOME to this game.

I’m going to be picky with this recruitment. Bake me a Christmas or Chanukah (or non-holiday) virtual cookie of your choice. I don’t care to know what character you’re bringing. DON’T tell me about your character; tell me about my virtual cookie. I’ll recruit until I’m satisfied (or I have a tummy-ache, whichever is first).

Good luck and get (virtually) baking!!!

Your adventure begins in Eto, a bustling settlement on the Golden Road in Osirion. You may have recently arrived with one of the caravans, or you might have already spent a few days in the trade city. You even be the rarest of birds in this trade hub: a native. Regardless, at the end of another sun-drenched day you find your mug filled with a refreshing beverage of your choice from your stool in The Bent Coin tavern. The hubbub of the inn promises camaraderie, people-watching, and other forms of entertainment. The tavern maintains a bulletin board where caravan merchants often advertise to hire guards, drivers, and other employees. You find your eyes occasionally glancing towards the bulletin board, hoping for the appearance of a possible employment opportunity.

Please describe your character, what you’re doing (and drinking), and any thing else you’d like to put in an intro. We will hold until all six of you have had a chance to make an entrance.

    Here's our landing/launching pad for out-of-character conversations.

I like to keep my expectations light and breezy. Post when you can and let us all know if you're not going to be able to post for longer than 24hrs in advance so I can fire up my bot. Be considerate of your fellow gamers. Keep off-topic talk in the Discussion thread. We're here to fire up natty 20s!

Please post the following things as part of your first post:

    1.) character name and class/level

2.) your Pathfinder Society ID number including the suffix for the character that you're playing

3.) your starting XP and reputation

If there's a faction that you want to identify as, then let's do that as part of the gameplay (or a private message to me). Bounties don't provide downtime opportunities, so there's no need for any downtime rolls.

I choose to use the Paizo boards for player chat in-game for one-offs like this, but I'm happy to listen to alternatives if there are any.

Now, let's escape the drudgery of the real world for a bit!

Looking for a game to play to escape capitalistic drudgery??

    LOOK NO FURTHER!

I'm recruiting for a brand-new Bounty. If you know Pathfinder Society, then a bounty is like a quest, but more focused on a single task fit for a murder-hobo. If you don't know Pathfinder Society, then this is the perfect entry point for you!

This Bounty is 1st level. You should have a new or somewhat-new (or inexperienced) character.

I will take the first five (or six) players that post interest starting NOW.

    Caveat for Erathiel Leafsong:
You're in if you'd like. I'm saving a seat for YOU.

Hello! Come on in! Grab a stickie name badge and a sugar cookie....oops, we're all out of sugar cookies. Sorry about that.

We're playing a new thing for Season 2 of Pathfinder Society 2e - a Bounty! It's like a Quest, but more focused on murder-hobo-ing. Sounds like fun!

This Bounty is 1st level. You should have a new or somewhat-new (or inexperienced) character.

I like to keep my expectations light and breezy. Post when you can and let us all know if you're not going to be able to post for longer than 24hrs in advance so I can fire up my bot. 1.) character name and class/level

2.) your Pathfinder Society ID number including the suffix for the character that you're playing

3.) your downtime roll, including the skill that you'll use and how proficient you are in the skill; also, if you're a field agent, let me know.

4.) your starting XP, reputation, and fame

We will slot boons and get school items during the game. If there's a faction that you want to identify as, then let's do that as part of the gameplay (or a private message to me).

I choose to not use Discord for PbP conventions; I save it for my real-time games (for the most part). That being said, if folks don't want to use the Discussion thread on the Paizo boards for player chat in-game, then I'm happy to listen to alternatives.

Hallo! Welcome to my Heroic Level table of City of Shrouds and Sails, the 1st Adventure within the Season of Rotting Ruins!

Gameday VIII runs from August 26 to November 3.

Please read below for some information on how I run my tables. By getting everyone on the same page, we can make the game run a lot more smoothly :)

    Some ground expectations:
    1. Try to post at least once a day in order to keep things moving. If you are going to be unavailable for an extended period of time, please ensure that your deck handler is linked and available for other players, and provide instructions so that other players can bot your turn. I recommend putting the link in your alias Profile, in the Class line. Wrap it in the url tags so it turns into a link -- see "How to format your text" below the reply box for details on how to do that if you aren't sure
    2. Do not wait around for my scenario update posts, just base your turn around the most recent update plus what other players have done since then. I'll get a scenario update out once per day unless there is nothing to update. I'll have other (non-update) posts interspersed throughout the day as needs require.
    3. There are no take-backs or retcons, with exception of invalid plays/turns. Use resources wisely, and keep in mind the other perks you get in Organised Play such as accessory re-rolls and hero points.

    Things that make gameplay smoother:
    1. If a location is shuffled, you can continue to examine or explore cards in it by rolling a die to see which card you examine/explore. No need to wait on me to post an update first with the shuffled deck.
    2. When encountering a card, be very explicit in what card you are encountering. This helps other players at the same location know where you left off so they don't accidentally encounter the same cards that you just got through and have to re-do their turn.
    3. Use your Notes section to describe any cards or powers that can be used to assist other players on their turns and that you are willing to use. If you post that certain cards are available for use, have the card text available somewhere for other players to reference.
    4. When something impacts another player (a power that affects all characters at your location, or you're playing one of their cards), bold that thing so that it stands out.

Things that make deck upgrades smoother:
    1. Write a list of your 2-5 most desired deck upgrades, in order, and roll 1d1000 for each of them. If you have any conditions on the upgrade, such as "I'll take this only if nobody else wants it or if my planned card X is better than anyone else's planned card" make a note of those as well.
    2. That will let us look through those lists and see how we can get everyone their #1 preferred upgrade without lots of times lost in back-and-forth. If people are fighting over an upgrade, the d1000 roll is used to determine who gets it (highest roll wins).
    3. You are free to disregard this and discuss upgrades normally; but try to keep discussions to 2 days at most so that we can move on to the next scenario in time.

I'm familiarising myself with all things Harrowed and Cinderish; please check out the new Core rules (as linked in the Campaign Info tab) if you need to do so, as we will be using the new PACS rules for this scenario.

This is the out-of-character thread, so give it some thought and post an intro here. I'd suggest answering the following questions:

  • What's your name?
  • What character are you playing?
  • What's your experience with play by post (PbP)?
  • What's your experience with PACS (Pathfinder Adventure Card Society)?
  • What's your experience with the adventure card game (organised play notwithstanding)?
  • Where are you, geographically? When do you usually post?

As this event is part of a convention, we will be somewhat time-limited, so I must ask that you check the thread daily and post promptly. In order to keep things smoothly running, I'm going to suggest that we all use Discord. Click on this link to get to our Discord channel!

We are looking for a few hearty souls to join us for Season 3 of the ACG., but there is one rule that you must follow in order to submit a character for consideration to my table. I will be a bit authoritarian with adherence to my lone rule.

Pick a single character to play. The ACG world is your oyster and you have access to many different decks, each with at least one unique character to play. Here's where you place your bet: you must choose one ACG character to play. Please remind me which class or add-on deck that your character is from when you submit them. As your tomb guide, I will put together a party for the ages. We have three possible seats available to claim at this table - a few seats have already been spoken for. I'm specifically providing no information on what characters the others will be playing.

And that's really it. Good luck with your choice and thanks for reading in advance!
