Also, there are skill checks that use linguistics whether you know a language or not.
Putting ranks in the skill is what give you other languages, not the total skill value.
There are a whole bunch of games being run at the con this November, many of which are CORE tables. We are still looking for GMs and you can get a refund on your badge if you run at least three tables. If you are interested, need more information, or just want to come play you can message me or post in this thread. I'll respond as quickly as I can.
Here is the con website:
I have a list of tables still needing GMs which I can message you in you need.
I ran two tables of it at Gen Con and neither took the deal. The way the aeon interacts and how the players could possibly understand is all up to the GM running it.
Personally, I don't know how the aeon would ever convey in picture form that he was hesitant about killing the PCs. That was just a weird instruction and I did not think it was truly thought out, it seemed more pawned off.
Or just buy the lot of 50 with the custom cost and then split the stack and get rid of the stack you don't want. That way it doesn't say you had 50 arrows, just whatever you bought.

Hmmm...I've been going to Gen Con since 2010, and every year so far they've had previous season scenarios. Besides, the new season always has only the first 3 at scenarios.
I believe nogoodscallywag is talking about previous seasons to the current and last season. As Thea pointed out, that first year in the Sagamore Ballroom we had scenarios from every season represented.
Thanks Swiftbrook. I figured it was something like that.
I was at 3,900 and got into all the specials plus a few non-pathfinder events.
Wait, there is something other than Pathfinder going on at Gen Con this year?

Slot 7 (0800-1300): OFF

Slot 10 (0900-1400): Serpents Rise Special (Pregen)
I ran this a week or two after it came out. None of the players wanted to pose as slaves and so bought some in Absalom. I couldn't argue with this course of action as it made perfect sense.
The problem came in with the amount of gnolls that were there at the time they enter just like Blackbot did. It was annoyingly lacking in detail as it says there is a lot when you get in and then only gives you a few for the fight.
That is what I'm hoping for as well. I'm glad we hashed out that there should only be three characters per class deck, but is there going to be a deck that helps out those original 7?
elcoderdude, in my opinion you are correct. The instructions say to banish both location decks when you close the location. You get to close the location when you either empty a location of all of its cards, where either deck counts as a separate location attached to the location card, or find and defeat the henchman.
I understand the confusion as they should define main vs. side locations.
He did just that last year. Sadly, the one time I was asked to run an alternate scenario it was Scars of the Third Crusade which I had to decline. If you've played it or run it you know that it is very involved and open, not one to run off the cuff.
But the most likely scenarios are the low tier ones and maybe the 3-7 later in the con.

I was under the impression that all current VOs have access to all scenarios (PFS and PFACG).
Also, it is still one location short of the regular scenario even with Lonely Island.
We won by the skin of our teeth, but we had a wizard, a cleric, and my Merisiel. To avoid fighting sharks right away, we started on Lonely Island and then moved over to the same Shark Island. That way only one person had to fight a shark at the beginning of their turn.
We had to split up later on so that we could close locations when the enemy came out.

I was just recording the reward myself as there doesn't really seem to be a spot for the upgrade unless you think of the 'boon' as the reward adn then it makes sense. Has anybody clarified this yet?
