The Azure Avenger lifts his mask slightly to drink after the toast, and finds the drink a bit strong. Edmund is made out of tougher stuff than I thought. Edmund's thoughts on Kris made the masked man turn to his own on his old master Silas. When was the last time he had visited his grave? He ought to, now. "I say we take the time to stake the place out a bit more. See if we can get any help to get in and out of Thrune unnoticed." "As for Alana not knowing about the memory wipe... It's still possible that Thrune did it. While it is useful tool aganist dissenters like us, it is even more so in political matters. It is even possible that Alana herself was affected by it to remove any knowledge of it."
"It wouldn't bother them if she died, but the fact somebody did would. I suspect at the very least they would cast divinations to speak with her spirit, and that would directly lead them to us."

The Azure Avenger nods. "So the Pit Fiend was under some kind of contract limited to the tiefling? Good to know." "So what kind of help are we going to need to get the contract, Alana?"
The Azure Avenger recommends the back room of an inn, The Beggar's Purse. The place is seedy, cheap, and prone to crime, and most people don't ask questions. A simple coin to the bartender, and they can use the empty storage for a while.
The Azure Avenger sets up a chair for Alana to sit in, as well as some rope to keep her from moving. "When do you think she'll wake up?"
"Do you know how one would enter that room?" The Azure Avenger asks with a steady tone, gesturing towards the magically sealed door.
The Azure Avenger feels the noise in the area pop back into place as Edmund closes the door, and quickly makes a move to gag Alana.
The Azure Avenger slides closer to Alana, assisting in Gray's hold.
The Azure Avenger releases two more bolts on Alana. Not hearing the crackling of electricity made him wonder if they had even fired, but the effect was obvious enough on Alana.
The Azure Avenger stands up, his head spinning. His memories... yes, they had returned. Slowly. That was good. But it didn't mean anything if he died here. Seeing Ziera already at work, the Azure Avenger grabs his belongings, and turns to Drem. "Very well. Come, let us go." He says, already beginning to leave.
The Azure Avenger heroically attempts not to die.
The Azure Avenger keeps up the pressure, firing again and again.
Taking the brunt of the blow, The Azure Avenger grins under his mask. "Not trying to make it easy for us, eh?" he says, feeling his arcane energies reach his palms. Stepping to the side for a better angle, the Azure Avenger releases two bolts.
The presence of the animagi put The Azure Avenger on edge. This thing is sentient? He thought. Or maybe just inputted with a few responses to obvious questions. The Avenger moves to get into a better position, ready to burst out to strike.
The Azure Avenger turns invisible as well, before stealthily moving into the room.
The Azure Avenger brushes himself off, feeling a bit winded. Still, there were a few moments to catch his breath as Edmund studied the scroll.
The Avenger attacks the hellhound, firing down into the pit.
The Azure Avenger fires down at HH4 into the pit, having no mercy for these beasts.
Stepping over, the Azure Avenger fires a barrage of lightning at HH1.
The Azure Avenger runs into the room, fixing his mask and preparing his bolts for combat.
The Azure Avenger follows Edmund, taking a look around for new foes to vanquish.
His mask, however, gets in the way of his vision.
"Excuse me, everyone. If I could have a moment to myself..." While the change of personas wasn't difficult, it required a small amount of concentration and thought. Antonio takes a blue robe and mask from his bag, donning himself in them. Almost in a ritualistic fashion, Antonio begins to whisper to himself in a mantra, before finally putting on the mask. "Apologies. I am ready to go now. And please, call me the Azure Avenger." The Avenger's voice feels similar to Antonio's, but the man's suave confidence seems replaced by emboldened harshness. He raises his hand, opening for inevitable questions.
Asmodeus' Rest: The Azure Avenger nods. "I knew... nothing since that first day when we all met. I've been learning since then, and seem to have pieced most of it together. Our goal remains the same, we only have to tread lighter. Even when I am not in your sights, know this: I am still, and always will be, on your side." He turns away from the group. "The ball should go well. I may be there, if only to watch, but I will not act unless it is the most dire circumstance. Until we meet again, I say, farewell." He exits the building from the back, casting invisibility in order to evade sight. Once he finds a suitable location, he will take the time to return to being Antonio Danera.
Avenger almost wants to give a chuckle as he sees the pictures of himself and... himself. It seemed that these men did not know the relation between him and his other persona, or, perhaps, they simply wished to be thorough and had both just in case. It wasn't as if Avenger's mask was an unrecognizable face. "You all may split as you like. I don't think anyone would want to be walking around with me, so I will move by myself. In fact, I insist. I happen to work better that way. I'll go tracking down this 'Antonio' and see where his loyalties lie." "After that spreading rumors will be fine... without the mask. I'll be skipping the party, obviously." You can practically see the grin under his mask as he speaks.
"If you mean the man who ran upstairs - he left. Managed to escape through a window, and didn't spot me. I saw no reason to stop him." "I apologize for my absence up until now, but at the current moment, we should make haste. Gray, go ahead and grab one of them, one who seems like they have the most experience. Likely their leader."
The Avenger looks the men over, trying to piece together who they are. They didn't seem very formal, but it wouldn't be above someone to do so to keep an organization secret. "The old man is right." he speaks, his voice echoing strangely from his mask. "I don't think its just a coincidence these men showed up here. We should take one with us, try to interrogate him.
The Avenger exits the room, trying to take in the scene before him as quickly as he can. Seeing the others directing attacks into the pit, he joins them in their assault, flinging a bolt of lightning down at his foe.
The Azure Avenger enters where Antonio left, a different man standing where another once was. A grin appears under his mask. At last, he thought. It's been such a long time. But when was the last time? Crashes emanate from outside the room. The battle has been going for some time, but only now can The Avenger hear it.

I figure we can start the planning meetings after overthrowing House Thrune. So give it a couple of weeks. Ok, maybe a month. Two months? Seven years. Here's hoping. :)
Someone left the windows open and it tends to get a bit chilly in there. But in all seriousness - why are there so many librarians in this party? It's a funny sort of coincidence.

Like a light in the darkness, I pierce into this Discussion thread! ...or something like that (I'll work on the one-liners later). I think I have mostly everything good and set up. Also made a second alias for the Antonio Danera persona, so I'll be posting with that too when it is appropiate. Party looks pretty good, looked at a few aliases. Though I must say, having a worshiper of Zon Kuthon will be... interesting. Can't say I have ever played with one along before, so this should be fun! Shadowtail, for this campaign's start, would it be more appropriate to be in social or vigilante persona? |
