Female Elf Illusionist
Here are some Ray of Frost rolls to hopefully last the weekend while I am away. Pew pew!
Female Elf Illusionist
Tessara stops in the doorway behind Khita and Kelvanthus, and looks warily into the manor before proceeding. She gives a nod to the strange woman with the glowing light but says nothing to her. I'm fairly certain the creature is bound to Ellismus, strange. Noting that they are still standing in the entryway, she points out cheekily "We spent nearly a full day tracking down potential champions, and you've barely made it into the manor. Have you boys been lolly-gagging?"
Female Elf Illusionist
She stifles a laugh as O'Mighty falls off his chair and begins shouting, seeing both Kelvanthus and Khita immediately get defensive. Tessara stands behind Kelvanthus, resting a hand on his shoulder. "Settle down, you lot. Kelvanthus you are not helping by getting so agitated. I assume Dareroth simply meant to show us some of his skill - magic is not so easily appreciated as a burly dwarf with well built arms and armor. O'Mighty, you are only showing weakness right now; if it's so easy for an enemy to get you riled up you will fall swiftly to the right opponent. I advise you sit back down... On a different chair of course." Once the tension dies down a bit, Tessara smiles charmingly at those around her. "And do not forgot, all of you, that we still have not completed scouring the city for other potential champions. We can send word to those we have hand-selected once we have seen them all, and then have this test of skill that our elfmarked friend spoke of."
Female Elf Illusionist
Tessara listens intently to Dareroth, and begins to smile as O'mighty chimes in. "Sir dwarf, I just finished mentioning that fighting is about more than muscle. A keen eye to pick out an opponents weakness and take advantage of that is a skill you would do well to learn. Furthermore, illusions and trickery are a staple part of many arcanists' repertoire." The elf gives Dareroth a small curtsy. "I am Tessara. What kind of magic do you focus in? I am very interested to hear sort of abilities you may bring to a fight. Also, I would very much like to know if you already have information about who the opponent is." For what seems the first time, Tessara has relaxed the slightest bit and introduced herself (let alone made conversation with) one of the many they sought that day. She speaks a few words of arcane magic to renew her detection spell, to see what magical items this spellblade carries. Is he human? I didn't actually see a reference to his race, anywhere.
Female Elf Illusionist
Tessara whispers quietly to Khita and Kelvanthus, "It might not be smart to be speaking so loudly about a large sum of gold. We do not want any lurkers in the shadow to think we keep this with us, and try to take it from us by force. Furthermore, perhaps we only offer the gold for a win. It's easy to fight, but not so easy to fight and win. There is a lot at stake here and we need to choose the right person." She raises her voice, so that the dwarf and anybody listening may hear her as well. "We are simply finding those who may be able-bodied for now. Once we find more out about who the opponent is, we will be able to come up with a proper counter. Fighting is not all about muscles and brawn."
Female Elf Illusionist
Tessara remains standing behind Kelvanthus, making no effort to hide her heritage. She leans in and says quietly to the elfmarked "He seems to fight for fightings sake, this is not some noble champion such as yourself." She stands guardedly with arms crossed in front of her, appraising the dwarf the best she can. Sense Motive 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
Female Elf Illusionist
Tessara spends the day quietly, mostly deferring to Khita and Kelvanthus. She concentrates most of her efforts on maintaining her magic detection spell. She does her best to maintain friendly with Khita, but a few snarky slips come out. Almost a polar opposite, she is doting and friendly with Kelvanthus the whole day. She will say nothing to the masses of people, but will point out any magical items that she can detect on the crowd right to Khita. It's quite plain that Tessara is not overly comfortable being out in the crowds.
Female Elf Illusionist
"I will meet with Khita and Kelvanthus in the morning at the temple. I will be able to detect if they have any magical equipment on them to quickly weed out those unqualified." She nods and smiles at Khita when she stops to whisper in Tessara's ear. "The druids are likely a waste of time - what use could they be in the middle of a city anyways?" "I am also skilled in making friends, so my presence will be an asset in this journey. I will see you all in the morning, I have other matters to attend to before the night is over." Ready to proceed!
Female Elf Illusionist
I'm excited to see what plays out as we struggle with our Good-aligned party members, and bring you down to our level. Buahaha. And as always, who needs to fight when we have Charm Person on our side!? But yes - this kind of initial RP (especially in a homebrew campaign where nobody knows what is happening except GM!) is important as we figure out party structure and aren't rushed from point A to B.
Female Elf Illusionist
"The very first thing mentioned to us was the apathy the druid sect would likely have towards the defence of Salzbach. Throwing our lot in with the League would at least guarantee us they would have somewhat aligned goals with ours. The only option nobody seems opposed to is finding a refugee or do-gooder to champion our cause." Tessara leans back, letting her hands rest upon the table. She has not touched her drink. "Before we go wandering about, is anybody here interested in championing the defence of the city?" She turns to Ellismus and nods. "Wise words from someone of your station." A clear reference to his human heritage. "If it is knowledge we need, that is easy enough to gather. The issue is our lack of time. That may require us to split up in our endeavours. Is that something we want to do? Spread our efforts too thin and none may be strong enough. But put all our efforts in to one cause, and we are at risk should our efforts in that cause prove lacking. Something to consider."
Female Elf Illusionist
With a wry smile, Tessara looks over to Khita. "If the task requires no grace or chivalry then we may have already found our champion, Khita Viscenar." She makes sure to emphasize the lack of title. "But she is right - there are two ways we can do this smoothly. It was mentioned the League of Adventurers may be willing to trade favours. We could also find one of those honourable types, and appeal to their sense of good and justice. They would likely champion our cause just for the valour of it all!"
Female Elf Illusionist
Tessara takes a moment to glimpse up into the sky as she runs to grab her personal things, noting the crescent moon. There will be some time again before She can watch down directly over us. Let's see who can be converted to Her worship before then. Once in the private room, she listens respectfully to Khita and Kelvanthus. "We waste our time with the druids. We've already been told that the League of Adventurers would be able to provide the strongest aid." Tessara turns briefly to Relaan. "Priestess, I trust in your discretion for the sake of the city's protection." Standing up, Tessara begins to pace slowly around the table, stopping directly behind Kelvanthus. "There are those here at the table willing to go to extraordinary measures to reach their goals... Whether in accordance with the law or not. A small price to pay, wouldn't you all agree?" She smiles as she brushes her hand against the elfmarked and takes her seat once more.
Female Elf Illusionist
Tessara had done her best to stay in the shadows of the tavern, usually easy to do among a hundred people. What seemed unfortunate at the time, the crowd parted to step away from Rayler, and Tessara looked up to catch the man's eye. He picked her by hand upon seeing her heritage - her magic was not strong enough to mask it for the length of a meeting. I just had to follow the elfmarked one, didn't I. The gates being closed for this long does not bode well for me, and may cut off some of my power. Maybe this is for the best that I take a hand in restoring them, it would make Her happy. She listens intently to Rayler, smiling and dipping into a shallow curtsy as he addresses her personally. "You do me great honour by choosing me, sir. I will do my part in finding and equipping this champion-to-be. If you have any specific qualities you are looking for in a man, just say the word. Elves knows how to be quite persuasive." She looks over to Kelvanthus, catching his eye and giving him a small smile - Tessara looks very familiar to him. Maybe this was quite lucky for me after all...
Female Elf Illusionist
Whoops, forgot I only had 17 int on this character... Will take some skill ranks out. I also get Disguise, Sleight of Hand and Stealth all as class skills from Mage of the Veil specialist Wizard. Far too awesome not to take for this character :P I also totally forgot gold + equipment. I'm too awesome with my goddess NOT to have hero points, unfortunately. 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 = 60 gold... Hm. I can maybe make this work.
@Shadoven:
I'm thinking that you got picked out of the crowd early upon your arrival to Salzbach, noted as somebody not of this world. You would begin getting infrequent dreams, talking of a road home from beautiful elven lady, wearing an indigo dress and mithral diadem. Everything around her is dark, and alluring. She speaks directly to your loss of your home, your love, your goddess; you are told the night will always comfort you.
If you're still interested then we can work out how these two meet ;) It looks like we have mostly elf/elfmarked joining the crew, with a few planetouched and... a single human! I'm not really surprised by this, but definitely thought there would be more humans. I was about to.. but elf made more sense for my character.
dunebugg's wizard. @Nightskies I had sent you a PM earlier asking your thoughts on some specific rules (none of the class related stuff anymore) and want to hear what you think. I can throw up some more background if you'd like, as well. Mainly just wanted to get the important fluff/crunch worked out right away. Also, are we able to take whatever languages are in the Midgard book? @Shadoven: how would you like to be accidentally tricked into the worship of a wonderful wonderful deity? :D |
