If Teric's body and soul are bound to the Runelord, does that mean he won't die of age? Think of all that compound interest on his investments!

I doubt Teric's mind is even his own anymore, but if his will returns, then he'll likely think of this as some combination of indentured servitude that he needs to work off and a way to learn and amass more arcane power. So, yeah, he's gone to the dark side.

Great game, everyone! Thanks for a memorable sendoff for Teric!

We all knew Teric wasn't good, right?

I'm actually fine either way this goes. I think Teric's con man/swindler nature fits this choice well, especially with everyone else dead.

I've largely moved over to PFS2e, so this was almost certainly going to be Teric's last game anyway especially at the end of the arc. He died during the last scenario in the arc, which was his comment about having done death already. So the businessman tries to sell himself.

Teric looks around and finds himself in the ziggurat room. The Trade Prince sighs. "Well, Darla, it would appear that the Runelord planned his sanctum well." He spots the shadow demon and shakes his head. "Just being hunted down like a beast. I'm already done death. Let's try something new." He flicks his hand and shifts space and time again.

This time he does arrive where he chooses -- back in the Runelord's sanctum. He tries to halt the immediate onslaught with words. "Mighty Krune, if you would spare me for a moment, I have an offer. I am Trade Prince Teric Cain. You have clearly shown your power and skill. A good businessman knows when his venture has failed and it's time to move on."

"Unfortunately, we were able to destroy many of your heralds. You have no one to teach you what the world has become during your slumber, to prepare you for what you will find. My life is forfeit to you; it is clear. If, however, you spare me, I can serve you in that capacity. My life has been spent in the accumulation of influence, mostly through arcane power and coin. I have influence and contacts in a variety of nations. But power is power, and this has been a demonstration of it. I once worked under that fool Guaril Karela. Now I seek a new master to serve and gain from."

"Extinguish my life if you choose. But I think I can be more use to alive." He pulls back his sleeve to show the Sihedeon Brand. "You have already taken this for yourself. Why not own me as well?"

The Varisian bows deeply as he awaits the Runelord's choice.

Using the following boon as a swift action. Teric has cold resist 20, so he should regain 20 hit points.
Frozen Fortitude Use the boon as a swift action to gain cold resistance 5 + character level for 1 minute. Alternatively, use this to regain hit points equal to your existing cold resistance. If you have immunity, regain 30 hit points.

Then he's casting Dimension Door to go vertically as far as the spell will take him (800 feet). If there's no free space there, he should get shunted first 100 feet, then 1000 feet into the closest empty space.

We need some light or this is going to be bad. Does anyone have torches? Unfortunately, I made the decision a long time ago that Teric was going to be arrogantly reliant on magic. If he can get a bit of light, he's ready to drop a fireball on them.

If we can't get light, Teric can try to dispel the deeper darkness. I think he's got enough info based on what Hamish found.

GM, you're usually very good with these specifics, but I wanted to understand how the light levels work.

Daylight creates bright light. Deeper Darkness reduces light levels by two. Does that mean it should be dim light in the area? I know Daylight has a special clause about negating overlapping areas, but I've never understood how that would work. Would that mean that both are cancelled?

Did that spear act on its own?

"He's not in the mist, I guarantee. He's likely to have teleported back to where we entered. Though, he could be in the corridor, so watch out." Teric sneers at the tentacles below. He waves a hand, trying to simply dismiss the magic.

Casting Dispel Magic on the Black Tentacles. If he succeeds, he'll fly out of the room with Pai S.

Perhaps we need one more blast by Pai S to crack the thing open? Or Mykel to cut it open.

"Break it open. We can't afford the Runelord to emerge at his convenience." Teric watches the sarcophogus intently, but then summons a cloud of mist around himself as he floats higher up the chamber.

Casting Obscuring Mist, trying just to envelope Teric and not impede the ground much. But at 20 foot radius, that might be difficult. Hopefully height helps.

Then he motions with his other hand, and the three balls of cold lightning swirl around the sarcophagus, spraying it with frozen lightning.

Pai, Teric has Dispel Magic, but he's already gone this turn. You could try a Protection from Evil instead of using your last Dispel to give him an immediate try against the save again with the bonus from it and good hope this time.

Didn't matter, but Yellow should have still been Slowed and unable to take multiple attacks.

"Ha! A pity that you feel the cold, my dear. It will be the death of you." Teric grabs arcane power again, rippng its fingernails out until magic itself succumbs to his wishes. He flicks his wrist and a metamagic rod appears in his hand, guiding the arcane power around him.

Three orbs erupt into the world, two of them near the Lashmistress and shock her with frozen lightning. The last hovers near the swordsman and does the same to him.

Persistent Cold Ball Lightning#1 vs Lashmistress (Reflex DC24 negates): 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5) = 13

I've pulled Teric back a space since if he could see an invisible enemy, he would not have gone right up to it. Hopefully that doesn't completely change what he would have seen in the northern chamber. Vertical height might also be helpful here. He has 60 feet of fly movement, so as long as he wouldn't provoke an AOO, he has enough to maneuver forward and then back.
