Question for the masses....

I'm designing an abandoned manor house taken over by a tribe of goblins. One of the traps I want to use involves a fake trip wire, to set up who ever goes to inspect it or step over it. When they do a goblin using a peephole will hit the level and spring a spear trap.

The question is, do I use a standard to-hit roll with minuses, or an alternate to-hit roll using either a modified ranged touch attack or and Int based to hit roll?

Any opinions would be appreciated.

It's sad to be the step child of the postal service. So many houses went into foreclosure in my neighborhood, the post office doesn't even assign us a regular postal carrier anymore...

Hi there!
Having just returned from my FLGS for Free RPG day, I noticed that htey have Part 4 of the Carrion Crown AP in stock. I still have not seen my copy in the mail. So my question is... is there a way to track it, or should I "Go Postal" on the USPS?
It usually will have arrived by now, and I was just curious.

Thanks Guys!

"It is located in the APG pg 67 Witch's Framiliar section."

Silly me was looking under spells....

Scarab Sages

I seemed to have missed how many spells a Witch starts out with. Can some tell me where to find it please?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Something you look into is a Cleric, with the Time and Travel domains.I was playing one in a 3.5 game, and the others players kept referring to him as The Doctor.

Thanks for looking. :-)

If they're both in the same order and you opted to hold all items to ship together, then yes. You can request to break these into individual orders, but you will pay shipping twice.

Groovy, Thanks.

A game of horse shoes anyone?

This is the name I use most often now. I have used Temmerlane in the past, but rarely anymore. I chose it because I like the Mongols.

OK, what's MULE? I've never heard of that one.

Scarab Sages

That's a pretty thin selection...

Scarab Sages

Wasn't there a Dragon article about alchemical mutations in D&D?
I remember something about a Zombie, and some form of ooze...

I allow paladins of different alignments in my games, so I've had to adapt the code to fit any of the allowed alignments.

The Paladins’ Code

1. Thou shalt believe all that the church teaches and shalt obey her commandments.
2. Thou shalt defend the church and the faith.
3. Thou shalt respect all weakness and shall constitute the defender of them.
4. Thou shalt not recoil from thine enemies.
5. Thou shalt make war against the infidel without cessation and without mercy
6. Thou shalt perform scrupulously thy feudal duties, if they not be contrary to the laws of thine faith.
7. Thou shalt neer lie, and shall remain faithful to thy pledged word.
8. Thou shalt be generous, and give largess to everyone.
9. Thou shalt be everywhere and always champion the right and the good against injustice and evil.

I am underwhelmed by the DI. You would think with as much money as they were making they could have been better prepared for the switch.

Scarab Sages

Well, I tried to send it from work, thinking it might be faster. However, I have been told that it's to large a file to send. So I'll take it home and see if I can run it through WinZip and reduce it.

Scarab Sages

The new article is called "Champions of the Divine", adn if you don't have it, let me know. I have it as a PDF.

I was talking with my DM and he has the Hardcover book, but he says that the sidebars about scaling the adventures isn't in it. Not wanting to ruin my fun by flipping through his book, can anyone tell me if the sidebars are in the book, or if there is someplace he can download all the sidebars.

thanks in advance...

Scarab Sages

Mummy was in my house....

Scarab Sages

I expect to be playing 3.5, mainly because I have a complete library of all the books, and everything I've written is for 3.5. I haven't even started to run any of it, so until I run at least 3 of 5 campaigns I've written, I'll stay with what's filling up my bookshelves at the moment.

Scarab Sages

Really? I had no idea....

Scarab Sages

Paizo should roll with it and flourish. If they will be allowed to by WTOC/Hasbro. Publish adventures, maybe make off market minis, whatever else you can think of. Of course if paizo should want to keep producing 3.5 material, I'm sure there will be a market for it. Not everyone is of the "New" generation of 10 second attention span gamers. However I digress...
Just keep up the astounding work you've been doing.

I'll look at the 4th Core books, but I've got to much invested in my books to start collecting them all over again. I hear the rumors that 3.5 will not covert to 4th because of so many fundamental changes. I doubt I'll be subscribing to the Insider on the WOTC site, because it exceeds the expendable income limit I've set for my self. Dungeon & Dragon were good buys, because I could save the magazines, and look at them whenever I wanted. Now I'll have to print what I want, and I can't afford that. OK, I'll stop now before this becomes a full blown rant and I offend.

My Wizard bit the dust...

So now we have.
Dwarf Rogue 5
Halfling Warlock 5
Human Druid 5
I thinking of either a Human Cleric (Time & Travel Domains) or Dwarf Fighter (Defensive variant)

Scarab Sages

Eri Sugai, Horizon
The Samurai Collection

I'm still cranky about the death of the print mags.

Scarab Sages

After a short hiatis...the party now stands as follows...

Human Wiz/4 (Going for Master Transmogrifist)
Dwarf Rog/5
Halfling Warlock/5
Human Druid/4

We're currently finishing the side trek with the Bugbear vampire, just before starting Flood Season.

Hey, I know of at least one prestige class that allows a caster to deliver touch spells through their weapon. Is there any feat that can allow a caster to do this? If so, please let me know the sourcebook as well. Thanks!

Daggerspell Mage from either Complete Arcane or Complete Mage, can't remember which one.

Before I hit e-bay, does anyone here have a copy and if so, is it a full-fledged adventure. Please, the more information the better.

Thanks.

I have both the Archive and the hard copy, email me, Temmogen@gmail.com, and I can send you a copy in either format. It is a fairly decent adventure.

Scarab Sages

My party and I recently rented from the city, Kegans old lock shop. Kegan died and no one came to take over the property. So we convinced the land office to let us rent it, but niether the Dm nor any of the players could figure out what the rent should be.
Does anybody have decent source for something like this?

Thanks Guys!!

Scarab Sages

Greetings!
I am looking for a print copy of Dragon #277, or more to the point the story by Paul S. Kemp that was printed in that issue. I can't get it in the PDF form due to licensing restrictions. So if anyone has a copy they would be willing to part with, PM me and we can talk.

Thanks!!!!

Scarab Sages

Well, I got mine saturday. It just took me until now to put my feelings into words. I do very much like Pathfinder, for what it is, it's great. But it's not Dragon. I think my perception of what Pathfinder was going to be was wrong. I wasn't expecting the absolute flood of material about Goblins, or the towns and countryside.
I was hoping for some of the content to relate to D&D in general, not just to this particular adventure or campaign. I guess I was hoping for an OGL version of Dragon, along with all the stuff that was actually in there.
Extraordinary job on Pathfinder, I shall continue my subscription. But I certainly do miss Dragon.

Scarab Sages

This waiting is killing me! I hate waiting! Does anyone know of a threat that will work on the Post Office, to get them to deliver my Pathfinder #1 faster?

OK, here's the question: I'm moving to Korea in three days, the packers are coming in the morning. It turns out my apartment is going to be pretty small, so I've last-minute decided to limit myself to 10 or less D&D gamebooks. If you really believe you'd want more than 10, then list them. The Core books are a given...so what should the other seven be? I have virtually every 3.0 and 3.5 book, so have at it! And thanks for your input!

DooD!!!

Clothes are over-rated, leave some of your clothes and take all your books.

I have no problem admitting that the picture of Lidda could make my Rogue pick his own pockets.....

Nice artwork. She is Smokin!!!

I'm in Colorado, got my email yesterday. Is Priority mail 3 day service? Or did it shipped media rate? Only time will tell. If it's priority mail I should get it by thursday....About the same time as my Expedition to Grayhawk. Just like christmas....

:-)

Scarab Sages

I got it yesterday, so the 4 day estimate is about right. If you havent gotten yours yet...be jealous, very jealous....

It is fantastic.

Scarab Sages

That was TOTALLY WICKED!!!!
Nice way to end it guys. I loved it. Who would've thought that's who Tasha was.....

You guys have truly surpassed yourselves.

*Applause, Applause*

I cant wait to see Pathfinder.

Scarab Sages

Does anyone happen to know the average shipping time for Dragon?

Scarab Sages

Vecna followed by Wee Jas in a very close second....

Scarab Sages

I'm really hoping they FINALLY run the Phil & Dixie comic where they'll do Sex in D&D. I dont think they ever got a chance to run that one.

What's a china marker? Doesn't it rub off when handling the cards?

China markers are grease pencils, you can get them at most craft stores, and in a variety of different colors. It will only rub off if you're using them to play poker or something similar. If it just sits on the table or in a character folder, then it does the job nicely.
