DM_Scholar wrote: Tanner Nielsen wrote: NE Human Wizard (Intuitive), with the goal of taking the Souldrinker PrC. Sure thing! Question: what is the the purpose of selecting a school as an intuitive wizard if the archetype replaces "all the powers granted by arcane schools." If I'm reading that right, you don't even get the bonus spells. (Though, of course, intuitive wizardry makes up for that.) It seems like you might as well be a universalist and spare yourself the prohibited schools. :\
Well, there aren't many options available to the aspiring necromancer who shies away from the creation of undead minions. I guess it makes sense to just be a Universalist and avoid the opposition spells. Thanks for the idea!
Okay, how about this?
NE Human Wizard (Intuitive), with the goal of taking the Souldrinker PrC.
The biggest hang-up was trying to figure out how to specialize in necromancy while avoiding animating the undead (which tends to scare the peasantry and offend good-aligned party members). The Intuitive archetype will let me specialize in the non-undead spells in the necromancy school so I don't ruffle feathers. Also, the drinking of souls would be strictly limited to avoid being That Guy. Sound alright?
DM_Scholar wrote: Tanner Nielson wrote: How about a Ponykind necromancer, transitioning into the Souldrinker prestige class? xD
My problem with the "ponykind" is that it turns any campaign with one into a gag campaign. I'm fine if you want to play a comedic-relief style character, but something like that seems too silly to exist in the same world as heroic PCs who take themselves seriously. I was thinking of a serious character, but I can see how it would strain credulity. I will keep looking. :)
Grumbaki wrote: My apologies, I didn’t check previous submissions. Tanner can have first call on any dragon build.
Though...and I’m just saying...
5-6 dragons. All VMC with different classes. All with different ‘build paths.’ It’d make for an epic kingmaker campaign. ;)
I still have the Council of Wyrms box set in my library. :)
Please go ahead and submit your dragon. I only asked about a concept. I did not have anything built.
Do we have any alignment restrictions?
DM_Scholar wrote: Why back to the drawing board? I was fond of your dragon. I just thought that having two in one campaign would detract from the unique feel of both. Apologies for the confusion. I was the first to ask about the class/race, then Almonihah expressed interest in the concept, then Iorskan (Grumbaki) posted a partial build.
You told Almonihah that you were unlikely to accept two dragons, so three dragons would be right out, to paraphrase Monty Python. I could not work on a character sheet after your approval due to IRL work.
DM_Scholar wrote: I'm unlikely to accept two dragons so submitting another to me just lowers the odds for both players. Welp, back to the drawing board. Had work today.
I've been mulling over various character concepts, and I keep running into the stumbling block of not knowing the overall goal of the campaign.
Do the players have an idea what they would like? I was hoping for something that would focus on building/overthrowing a country, a la Kingmaker.
Do we have any alignment restrictions?

I can work with this....
Nice! That's a 42-point buy.
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 1) - 1 = 11
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 2) - 2 = 13
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 3) - 1 = 11
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 2) - 2 = 13
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 4) - 1 = 8
4d6 - 3 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 4) - 3 = 14
An 11-point buy. My character retires to become a cabbage farmer.
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 3, 6, 5) - 2 = 14
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 1) - 1 = 15
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 4) - 1 = 14
4d6 - 4 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 5) - 4 = 16
4d6 - 3 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 5) - 3 = 16
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 2) - 1 = 11
Much better. Would you mind, O benevolent DM, if I use these rolls?
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 3) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 1) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 1) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 5) = 17 15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 5) = 14 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 1) = 9 8
Equivalent to a 7-point buy. No thanks. :(
Any special rules on firearms?
4d4 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 4) = 10 15
4d4 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 3) = 11 16
4d4 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 4) = 10 15
4d4 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 3) = 14 17
4d4 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 3) = 10 15
4d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 3) = 14 17
Wow. So many possibilities. I need to noodle this a bit.
What kinds of character creation parameters were you thinking?
Quick question, Shadow.
Youre in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, its crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on it's back. The tortoise lays on it's back, it's belly baking in the hot sun, beating it's legs trying to turn it'self over, but it cant, not without your help. But youre not helping. Why is that?
Sounds good! I'm going to whip up an Aram cavalier, using the centaur charger archetype.
Oooooh, Ptolus. Color me interested. Are you allowing Aram? What would you use for their stats?

Sorry to hear that, Bigrin. Please take care of yourself.
Do you ever get really busy and just subcontract to LegalZoom or something? ;)
Ditto for me, please! I emailed Daemonslye about 10 days ago and have not heard back.

Dot. This thread is not showing up in my feed for some reason.
I would love to play in a WotW game. I have a build in mind that is in the same thematic neighbor as your departed PC.
How about an ifrit warlord, specializing in Solar Wind maneuvers, with gestalt levels in oracle?
That way he is (1) still an ifrit, (2) still uses fire all the time, and is (3) still an oracle of Asmodeus.
Question for you, Storyteller Shadow.
When you say the character must be divine, what portion/percentage are we talking? A full divine spellcaster like a cleric or oracle? A partial divine spellcaster like an inquisitor or antipaladin? A non-spellcaster who is devoted and pious?
Human Psychomancer
Well-- I'm not married to the grappler. And I just had a great idea for a bard. I will get something posted in a few hours.

Greetings, gentlemen! I'm happy to be joining your band of rascals. I am currently working on my character and will get a draft posted soon.
HP Rolls
2 - 1d5 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
3 - 1d5 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
4 - 1d5 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
5 - 1d5 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
6 - 1d5 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
I must withdraw from consideration. I lost interest in the character concept, and it looks like you have plenty of applicants. Good gaming!
So Pathfinder meets Guardians of the Galaxy meets Sliders? Neat. A few questions.
Will it be on the Paizo boards?
What are the character creation guidelines? Character level, race points, etc.
Thanks for the info! I will get a character ready this weekend.
Can you give some details on the process of becoming a vampire? Like how many feats or level requirements before you are a vampire? I looked at the feats from Fire Mountain Games on d20pfsrd, but they are all for after you become a vampire. Just wanted to do some advancement planning.
Dot! I'm thinking I would like to submit an Oracle (Intrigue) of Asmodeus. A human who transitions to vampire.
Yes. Double plus yes.
I am familiar with the general outline of a few of those adventures. Overall I do not have a great deal of experience with Greyhawk. But I'm a quick study. ;)
Hey DM,
Since we are in an Egypt-themed setting, any chance we could classify the khopesh as a martial weapon instead of an exotic weapon?
Dotting for interest. I need to read up more on the setting, but this looks pretty cool.
Dot! This game looks very interesting.
Human Psychomancer
Woo-hoo! I will update today/tomorrow.
Dot. I'm going to make a dwarven kineticist (earth) for consideration.
But why build just above ground?
I will have my character sheet ready by tomorrow (kids took up more time than expected). I will be making an Oracle (Intrigue) ((Trickster)) (5(1)).
Dot! My last character was 'taped over' during the hiatus. I will get something up soon.

To dot, or not to dot? That is the question.

I'm still here. My character was recycled for another game.
Do our kit skills give us the normal +3 class skills bonus?
Re: starting age. I'm having my character start at age 20. He comes from a stable and loving family and has a gradual descent into evil, so it did not make sense for him to still be a teenager. Not enough time would have passed. He is still going to be headstrong and rash at times. I picked the Dangerously Curious trait and Furious Charge feat to reflect his impulsivity.
I am still interested in submitting a tank/bruiser, but things have been busy. I will get a character sheet and background ready in the next few days.
