Rolling health...

Rolling!: 1d8 ⇒ 51d6 ⇒ 4

Reroll Lowest: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

[Roll=Reroll Lowest]1d10+7[/roll]

No one read too much into this.

Roll: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Roll: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Roll: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Roll: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Gold: 2d8 ⇒ (8, 2) = 10

Oops, that's supposed to be 2d6.

Gold: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11

Beat the average!

My rolls clashed with what I was initially inspired to make. I was also inspired by Ekujae lore... which also didn't work with my initial ideas. So I had to go diving into classes and such to try to find another inspiration.

...so unchained summoner has a twinned archtype. I've never even touched summoner, but that gives me some great ideas. I should have them done by the weekend.

@GM Nightmare Knight: Looking into the Ekujae I found this:

PFWiki wrote:
Many Ekujae ritualistically send their half-elven children to be raised in fully half-elven clans, believing that half-elves will thrive amongst their own kind due to the two ancestries' different lifespans.

So a half elf Ekujae would make sense for the Kindred Raised alternate racial trait, yes?

Oh deary me, a S&S recruitment? Plus, I roll for stats? Is it my birthday?

Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 1) = 11
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 5) = 17
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 2) = 15
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1, 5) = 15
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 5) = 13
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 3) = 13

So a 10, 16, 13, 14, 12, 10. I've seen worse.

Looks like a bit of everything so far, though no sorcerers. I will have to fool around with stuff in the morning after work and see what I can come up with. Maybe even one who isn't a draconic bloodline!

Edit: Okay, I peeked before bed. A unicorn bloodline false priest with healing hands could be amusing.

How long of a recruitment are you going for @DM? I didn't see that listed, but that could always be my poor eyesight.

Third edition is a fun one.

May as well roll the bones and see if anything is inspired. I do like the classics.

Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 1) = 10 9
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 6) = 17 16
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 4) = 16 15
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 1) = 12 11
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 5) = 17 14
Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 5) = 15 13

That is an interesting spread.

I was hoping for the armor but I don't recall if it will resize. If not, Kevan could go for an eyepatch, it would make him look tough. No use for the other stuff. Even if the armor fits he'll take the eyepatch if no one else wants it. Expeditious retreat on command is pretty sweet.

The jaunt boots resized for Kevan and then for the lady when returned. ;)

Combat Blocks:

Timothy [Current Turn]
Wretches, Bolters
Lathliss
Alchemist
Ulthak, Miles
Thug

Failing his save Ulthak takes one point of damage and falls to -6 HP.

Miles feathers the menacing thug again, and it groans in pain as it's minor wounds start to stack up. It briefly considers it's next target, before grinning at Timothy who just scorched it.

Wagggh: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Timothy is now at exactly 0 HP. This puts him in the disabled condition rather than dying.

Disabled:

A character with 0 hit points, or one who has negative hit points but has become stable and conscious, is disabled. A disabled character may take a single move action or standard action each round (but not both, nor can he take full-round actions, but he can still take swift, immediate, and free actions). He moves at half speed. Taking move actions doesn’t risk further injury, but performing any standard action (or any other action the GM deems strenuous, including some free actions such as casting a Quicken Spell spell) deals 1 point of damage after the completion of the act. Unless the action increased the disabled character’s hit points, he is now in negative hit points and dying.

The heavy club comes in from the side, and while he can brace there is little Timothy can do other than accept the heavy blow. He can feel ribs crack, his arm fracture, but despite the deep pain in his abdomen he still stands. Barely.

Working on character now. Should be done in the next few hours. Have a question for the DM:

Would the extremely fashionable trait apply to gold plated armor as well? I know it says 150 GP of clothing/jewelry, but I feel like spending 3x as much on your armor to coat it in gold should qualify.

Edit: Armor and shield.

Planning to power through after work in the morning and finish just before the week expires. It should mostly be crunch. Already have it all upstairs so it will be mostly transferring to paper.

I am thinking of a scaled fist monk who started to go the path of dragonheir fighter. Maybe he started as a monk and the party convinced him to change things up... as low ac is a surefire way to get hit just as hard back. A previously cloistered apprentice who has started to come into his own with help.

Build wise, will give up flurry of blows and ac bonus of unchained, scaled fist monk while keeping the bonus feats and evasion. Third level and beyond will be dragonheir fighter.

Basically a naive beefcake being shown the world by the group and stumbling into his own fighting style while he discovers what kind of person her wants to be.

Very interesting. Will have to see if I can put together a full character in the time given.

Can't wait to see the proper recruitment. I have an old character in mind to bring back for submission.

I always ask about kobolds.

I remember playing a character a long long time ago in a return to sunless citadel campaign before growing too busy to continue. Wouldn't mind a try at it from the start.

What are your feelings on kobolds? They are small and pop up anywhere.

No worries. Just crying out for attention. ;)

@DM Two-hands: You've missed my sorcerer twice now.

I'm thinking my sorcerer grew up outside civilization to nature loving parents. He himself doesn't really care about animals or plants if they aren't needlessly killed, and is somewhat dispassionate overall. Kind of guy who uses minor illusion to disguise a trap to catch an animal. Or charm person on an animal (verdant bloodline) to get it to do labor for him with the friend to animals trait.

This lets him get his hands on pristine takes so he doesn't have to haul in as much trade to make ends meet. Bit of a lazy neutral, but motivated to keep everything functioning and running smoothly.

I'm working on it. :P

Gold for Sorcerer: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5

Fifty gold. Oof.

I'm actually thinking verdant sorcerer with the animal whisperer trait. Kind of an outside the box problem solver.

Looking at the plentiful number of melee and healers I think I will try and come up with an arcane caster. Most likely a sorcerer, and knowing my preferences a draconic one.

Honestly, one of my favorite characters I have played with in a PBP was a summoner. They always contributed something and their character had amazing roleplaying muscle. To the point everyone else designated them the leader, even if it was more of a figurehead position. I've never felt compelled to play the class, but would welcome anyone wanting to.

I typically find there is no such thing as an underpowered class in the game. I've played in games where very powerful classes were a drag on the party because they were played poorly. I've played in games where lower power classes were MVPs in fights. There are poorly built characters and poorly played characters that can be a burden on the party, but no class is a drag if played well.

If your time playing one was underwhelming keep in mind that doesn't mean it will be the same for someone else.

@DM Two-Hands: Regarding barbarian rage

While in rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

Would you consider healing as a full round action as falling under that?

@GM Two-hands: What is your stance on feat choices? I think this remote survival setting would be the perfect place for the feat Healer's Hands. It even pairs well with one of the campaign traits.

Didn't want to get ahead of myself.

4d6 drop lowest: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 5) = 18 16
4d6 drop lowest: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 6) = 18 16
4d6 drop lowest: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 6) = 13 12
4d6 drop lowest: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 2) = 16 14
4d6 drop lowest: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 6) = 13 11
4d6 drop lowest: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 3) = 10 9

I really love this spread!

Looking at campaign traits I really liked the person who survived death and the healer traits. The idea of someone who came back from the brink by briefly touching something else. Starting out it would be very difficult to really benefit from the additional healing even with modifiers, having to hit a dc25 to make a noticeable difference from another sawbones. So it would be great to roleplay as someone who didn't understand what they were doing.

Not a cleric or someone divine touched. Just someone who learned to tap into positive energy and does what they can for others.

I like it. Have only ever tried to get into a single Ironfang, so it's nice to see someone planning to recruit for it.

- Been on one form of PBH boards or another for over ten years.
- Have two active campaigns I am running. One coming up on two years.
- I like to roll dice.
- Have played 3.5, 4th edition, Pathfinder
- Kingmaker, WotR, BG3 CRPG experiance.

Who replaced Anevia with the greased up deaf guy from "Family Guy"?

Wow, of the finished submissions so far no one is playing the same class. Not sure I've ever seen that before.

It really IS rare for a recruitment to go that long without doubling up with this or that class. I am somewhat amused how this worked out so far.

As of this post, we don't have anyone trying out of the core classes of Barbarian, a monk, or a sorcerer.
The APG classes, we're lacking Alchemist, Cavalier, Inquisitor (Though someone plans to multiclass there I think) or Witch.

No Magus either

Not that we need one applicant for each, but it's interesting :)

Making me feel guilty for not making a bar bar, my favorite class.

@GM Wulfson- Have a plan for a kobold rogue. A hermit from the wilderness who is getting pushed out from his home by bandits. Having played the video game for this I know kobolds aren't any stranger to the setting. Sound alright to you?

Hmmm, seeing lots of casting and a bit of melee interest. No real rogue/scout though. I'll see about a submission to fill that role.

So is there a flow chart or something to determine how I should make my experience purchases? Is it mostly a case of what I want to make the character better at, or should I check some specific boxes? Sister or Arbite I have it pretty much figured out outside what to do with my xp. Also, what is class advancement and what does it get you?

I'm not going to be able to get this done today. I don't seem to know the system enough to know what I want to purchase, and I think I will need to spend some time reading through a pdf properly to understand combat and things well enough to play.

Having a lot of trouble figuring things out, but getting as much done as I can before the deadline.

Hela Decima is what I have so far. Going with a SoB soldier rather than crusader. I did it for aptitudes and skills and such. Does it make a huge difference progressing? I am realizing I have no idea what I am doing.

Looking at other people they bought some advancements with an aptitude of two, but the builder says you can only benefit from one aptitude? Never mind, figured it out.

Well now, looks like SoB is back on the menu! I'll have to get to work!

You can swap a pair of stats and put that +19 I failed to notice somewhere with a 25.

Literally every stat over 30, but nothing over 35. Interesting.

I may have to copy someone else's homework to format a proper character.

Ah, I confused our other Sororitas applicant for our applicant who left! I could certainly turn my character toward more of a damage dealing character. Is there much in the way of utilizing will as a non psyker? If I wasn't utilizing toughness as much my character has equal chance of making use of will.

It looks like the arbites can use their willpower for the sake of intimidation and interrogation, so that would further their "scariest person alive" personal goal. I'll keep looking at possible builds. Looking like it might be better to make them a ranged weapon user that can go melee when appropriate?

Alright, much as I like the dakka in 40k I have resolved myself to make a brick s*+!house of a character, so going to roll with a Feral World background as I like the aesthetic of it. Head canon is they were picked up by their background group for being such a physical specimen.

Dice:

WS: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (1, 6) + 20 = 27
BS: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (7, 1) + 20 = 28
Str: 3d10 + 20 ⇒ (5, 4, 7) + 20 = 36
Agi: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (4, 2) + 20 = 26
Tou: 3d10 + 20 ⇒ (3, 3, 5) + 20 = 31
Int: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (4, 8) + 20 = 32
Per: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (4, 1) + 20 = 25
Wil: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (10, 9) + 20 = 39
Fel: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (3, 6) + 20 = 29
Ifl: 3d10 + 20 ⇒ (5, 5, 7) + 20 = 37

Reroll WS 1: 1d10 ⇒ 4
Reroll BS 1: 1d10 ⇒ 10
Reroll Agi 2: 1d10 ⇒ 7

Wounds: 1d5 ⇒ 1
Fate: 1d10 ⇒ 10
Divination: 1d100 ⇒ 48

If a job is worth doing, it is worth dying for.- Increase this character's Toughness or Willpower characteristic by 3. Reduce his Fellowship or Strength characteristic by 3.

So looking at this I could swap Wil and Tou to make an absolute beast of a toughness character. Any advice on making a proper tank? Using the CB an Adeptus Sororitas Crusader sounded lik a good option.

So it looks like we have a mix of psyker, a hierophant, and something else. I seem to have rolled strong combat stats and can swap two stats around to have points in pretty much anything. Perhaps I should make something in more of a tanking role? Since I am new to the system I am willing to take requests. I can make about anything and be happy.

Oh, looks like I goobered my rolls as well.

WS: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (5, 9) + 20 = 34
BS: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (8, 3) + 20 = 31
Str: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (10, 8) + 20 = 38
Agi: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (5, 1) + 20 = 26
Tou: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (2, 5) + 20 = 27
Int: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (6, 10) + 20 = 36
Per: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (2, 10) + 20 = 32
Wil: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (3, 8) + 20 = 31
Fel: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (6, 7) + 20 = 33
Ifl: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (4, 4) + 20 = 28

Just to begin with I guess I'll get the main rolls out of the way before work.

I will use one of my reroll dice on the 2 perception roll. I know I want to do at least that much in this moment.

Per Reroll 2: 1d10 ⇒ 2

:D Okay, then rerolling the Agi 1 and BS 3.

Agi Reroll 1: 1d10 ⇒ 5
BS Reroll 3: 1d10 ⇒ 3

Hey, 1/3 actually rolled a different number. Neat!

I'll have to figure out how to roll stats and get something started. I know Warhammer and have been playing Rogue Trader, but I have much to learn.

Just a note that while blinded the dretch will be vulnerable to snek attacks.

This was a quick recruitment.

So no smolbold the wretched. Got it. :D Maybe I'll manage worse.

4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 1) = 12
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 2) = 9
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 4) = 12
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 2) = 14
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 6) = 12
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 5) = 13

11, 11, 11, 12, 10, 11

Hell yeah! Human commoner here I come! I suppose the bonuses turn out to be the same in total. +1 overall. But it is even more mediocre somehow. This is a challenge to make something good!

Suppose I could also roll again? Much as I am tempted to make do with such an abysmal set for the sake of laughs I don't think I would get chosen with it.

Unless I can make an absolutely terrible kobold. In which case I would happily drive the stats lower.
