The spiders move closer.

Casts Unliving Rage on the two spiders and Eshimka if it would like. +2 profane bonus to Str and Cha, +1 profane bonus on Will saves, -2 AC, and functions as the barbarian's rage except no fatigue at the end.

I am assuming that the terrain is difficult to them, otherwise they will partial charge to get an attack.

Description
This spell functions as rage, except it affects only undead creatures and bolsters them with necromantic energy rather than emotion. Each affected creature gains a +2 profane bonus to Strength and Charisma, a +1 profane bonus on Will saves, and a –2 penalty to AC. The effect is otherwise identical to a barbarian’s rage.

Rage: Each affected creature gains a +2 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution, a +1 morale bonus on Will saves, and a –2 penalty to AC. The effect is otherwise identical with a barbarian's rage except that the subjects aren't fatigued at the end of the rage.

Smert looks to Fandral and says unconcernedly, "I only have spells for me and friends."

Sorry all, I only have spells for myself and the undead I control. I have access to my arcane bond, but that would use up its key role as my versatility. So I am quite disinclined to part with it for such little group gain.

Also, Smert is a little off his rocker in that he only views the undead he controls as friends. He's not being mean, just crazy.

Smert will cast Undead Anatomy II before going though the rift. Taking the form of a lich. Thus gaining: DR 5/ Bludgeoning; Darkvision 60ft; +4 vs mind-affecting, disease, poison, sleep, and stunning; +2 size bonus to Str and +2 nat armor. Also, In this form, he will detect as an undead creature (such as with detect undead, but not with magic that reveals his true form, such as true seeing) and are treated as undead for the purposes of channeled energy, cure spells, and inflict spells, but not for other effects that specifically target or react differently to undead (such as searing light).

Well, with the canoe choice, that pretty much decides it with the spiders. No spiders.

While Smert would not make these arguments and would likely burst into tears at the thought of losing his friends due to discrimination (he's kinda not all there upstairs), maybe some other tactics minded character would raise theses points.

*Undead are almost always quite effective against other undead. They are not susceptible to many of the things that some of the more powerful undead do.
*They are mindless. They will not do anything other than what Smert tells them to do.
*They are just as fast as a standard humanoid in heavy armor.
*They are perfect pack mules. (Str of 43 and can't get tired)
*They are basically like dogs, just massive and a little lot tainted.

OOG reasons

*This is what my character does. It is basically a pet class whose 'pet' is whatever the scenario throws at us.
*Each of those spiders are 24 HD. Which uses up 48 of the 64 HD I can animate in total, so it is a limited pool.
*This is a special, one of the few times I could raise and bring an army of undead.
*We lost our healer for whatever reason. We need some form of 'regaining' HP. These are just in the expendable sense.
*Once they are dead they are dead.

As I said previously, as you are the GM I will accept your decision.

I will not harp on this, but I will say it once, I spent resources to animate those spiders, 2/5 of my animate dead spells and 1,500 gp. Reasonably, necromancers do not get to keep raised undead from scenario to scenario. But tossing my resources out so cavalierly seems a bit unfair. I have said my peace and will accept whatever you decide.

Something I would like to remind my fellow players of, though I am not intending to sound any bit pushy or such...

As we have lost our healer, my undead are the only members of the party with disposable hit points.

I am not saying that they should do all fighting, by any means. I am merely cautioning our gung-ho front liners about being as gung-ho. I would prefer to not be the only surviving party member when this is all over.

"Spicer! Web them!" Smert shouts excitedly as he touches the spider closest to him. He then moves over to the other one and touches it with a purple glowing hand. When he does this, the spider begins to glow purple as well. "Spencer! Help with plant!"

Bolster: As a standard action, you can touch an undead creature and infuse it with negative energy. It gains a +1 profane bonus on all attack rolls and saving throws, as well as 1 temporary hit point per Hit Die and a +2 bonus to its turn resistance. The bonus on attack rolls and saving throws increases by +1 for every 5 wizard levels you possess. These bonuses last for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 your wizard level (minimum 1 round). The bonuses and temporary hit points are immediately dispelled if the creature is within the area of a consecrate spell. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier.

Smart looks sadly at Yami, tears welling in his eyes, "These my friends...you not give them away..?" As he says this he gives one of the spider's legs a long, tight hug, like a small child holding on to a stuffed animal.

After Smert gleefully hugs the two spiders for a couple minutes, he looks over to the dwarves corpse with a creepy smile as he wrings his hands. "He would not make good friend, but I could make into friend."

Honestly, if he doesn't want the character to be brought back, I see no problem with making the character an undead. The character's creator has forsaken it, I vote we use it as a resource.

Sounds good to me. I looked up the spider and it is a Goliath Spider, correct? I'll stat it up and put the stat block in my profile. Fun Fact: Being a zombie colossal creature increases its HD by 10 :). This is my newest record for "friends".

Smert gives no reaction to Yami's words as he creepily and excitedly moves over to the newly dead spider corpse. "This so exciting!!" In his excitement, he pulls out a bag of black rocks and spills some on the ground. He quickly picks them up and says a quick incantation.

I actually do not want to be teleported...surprisingly. Unless these are intelligent spiders, I feel fairly safe. BTW what knowledge check would these be? Oh also, does the woods provide any cover?
