Hello good friends, it is I, the progenitor.
I come forth with more tales from the wildlands.

In this case, a steel breaker decided after tearing off a very high level succubus gear, that he would give himself grapple abilities the next round.

The succubus had a cloak of dreams up, that the steelbreaker of course was making saves against for a bit...

Anyway, understanding the rules as we do. When he said he wanted to choke her. I of course being the terrible person I am, said in my best voice. "Harder daddy!"...

The player, shot a fountain of... soda from their nose at that. Of course, being the fun loving guy I am. I told him he just got drained. And I'd need him to make a will save.
Out came the natural 1.

Oh friends. It went downhill from there. The descent into madness and the squeaking sounds of me in my best accented oriental voice saying "harder daddy" was quickly followed by another natural 1... this time on the cloak of dreams.

Now! The question for this forum.

Does my continued acts of passion agaisnt my now slumbering foe cause them to wake up? And if so, how many and what kind of spells do they (the players, and pcs) need to memory wipe my jovial self squeaking - "harder daddy!".

My warmest regards for those in my thread for almost seven plus years.

With everything changing, I'm looking forward to seeing if for PFS 2.0 everyone that is a current vc or go have to reapply.

If stars and the such don't hold over than anyone currently in a position, should have to reapply as a fresh start, where others who want, can also apply for those positions....

So apologies, but on my mobile, so can't spoiler some things.

There are certain items that culminate with evil acts, and thus necessitate an alignment fix at the end of the mod.

Having these further culminate into bad things happening later down the road. That roadmap and season I think showed the absolute best of what the Society was about. Using whatever means possible to confront the seasons villian, even if it meant staining your soul a dark color, that basically signifies your willingness to complete the mission.

LE should be allowed in, because it gives the grit and maturity of the Society. They have no issues working with any, but I don't want to raise a dead horse and flog it again.

It just seems like PFS wants to move from a mature setting to a more of setting, that's fine if that's your thing, but if pfs 2.0 rolls around and the staff decides to remove the ability to have characters dedicated to gods like Asmodeous because they are LE, that campaign will lose player base.

How could this even be Society, that's based around a blurb of dark necromancers working in tandium with Sarenrae worshipers when once the village is done burning down evil deities, they will want to burn down necromancers, or as one put it, no evil descriptor spells.

If you decide to wrap your campaign in bubble wrap, to safeguard it, than don't be surprised if it doesn't go the way you expect it.

Really want factions to matter, and I would love to see Cheliax come back into play. The current factions are bland, worthless, and have no meaning, in any way like they used to.

Funny though, there is Al, which does have evil aligned characters, and they were no were near the grey scale that PFS season 1-4 was.
Sadly, those seasons are the ones I remember most fondly, as I think the current seasons are lackluster to what has come before.

I'd love to see PFS go back to it's mature themes and roots going forward, and to help it along, we should incorporate lawful evil.

The society has, by it's own description evil characters included within it. I just believe it's time to open up the alignment a bit more. As stated, a badly played CN is no worse than a badly played LE character.

Here's to seeing real clerics of Asmodeus in PFS 2.0!

Dark Archive 4/5

I'd like to tip the hat to allow LE based characters into PFS 2.0.

It's worked in other Living Campaigns, and I believe we have the play base to be able to handle what is, and isnt appropriate for public games.

Thoughts?

I just want a 1-20 Special, where we go Nova, against things that can also go Nova. A no hold's bared, Blasphemy, Holy Word, hell twisted angel raining fire for seven days onto Absalom, because hey that's an endurance test baby.

Yeah. Definitely going to need some True Rez action going on for it.

Im still planning and working on getting my 5th Star.

I have faith in the campaign leadership to make our stars mean something, so that our six hundred + hours of time means something.

But hey, if it doesn't, it was still a wild wacky ride to make it or break it baby.

Please do a clean start, no conversion. Conversion killed a lot of living campaigns. Don't do it to PFS. Just start fresh.

I've stopped playing for the last few months since Gen Con, due to a lack of high level modules. I have around 13 characters in the 7-11 range that I can't play.

It seems self defeating to enjoy a character and know that it has gone to retire at 7, or to die at 10. At least character death at 10 would be acceptable to the abandonment currently happening.

Also, it'd be nice if we had specials like Midnight Mauler, or other things that I could actually run to try to get my 5th star, but the apathy of how things have been going with this game system - I digress, that's something altogether different.

I'd really like to play any of my stable of 10's. Pretty please?

If you have to include diversity, for the sake of diversity - you've failed as a company, person, etc.

We all play and support a game we enjoy. There is an award that goes out for people who have moved mountains for Paizo. Pretty sure they look at what herculean tasks these people have done, not what they look like, or their jiggly parts.

Making an award for a specific type of people, is stupidity at it's finest.

That's all I got for this topic.

John,
Please dont change the chronicles.
If you must, please adjust the ones that arent as desirable.

There has to be a reason to make choices. The rewards at the end arent the justification, there what you get for doing what you do.

For those that didnt get what they wanted. GM. Get your first star and use it to replay this delightful special.

I hope that going forward you keep making exciting boons gor the special, and please, dont make rash decisions based on a small echo chamber oc five to ten loud forum voices.

In the words of thr Ghostcrawler. Its hard to be a developer if you let yhe noose overtake the signal, and the signal was that the sheet was awesome, and yes sometimes people miss out, but this was far and beyond anything handed out at a special ever.

Dark Archive 4/5

Earn a star and replay it.
Gm it at a convention.

Sometimes you dont get what you want. It suvls but it makes boons worthwhile.

Dark Archive 4/5

Gents, when I first ordered the tickets they didnt show, this could be me being wrong. Its not entirely impossible. It just seemed so out of place.
Just my feedback. It just seems silly that a 4 player group with three elevens cant have someone play a pregen with them.
However I've also argued the other shoe with no pregens for Bonekeep.

Also, Thea, it wasnt me doing the draining. The GM was using a wight and doing slam damage as energy drain levels. What is concerning is that he wasnt the only GM that ruled it that way as well.

Its ok because we explained it out and got it taken care of.

Bob, Id be happy to volunteer a slot to volunteer for a GM workshop. Maybe a 1 or 2 hour event on Wednesday nught or Sunday evening. I think itd be most excellent.

Otherwise, retool the special wording, because not being allowed to have one og the people I came with use a 7 pregen in the special when three of us had 11's really was a bummer.

I had someone try to play a level 7 pregen at my 9-11 table of Cosmic Captive last year (2016). I refused them, because the table was already a fairly weak 9-11 (with 3 9's, a 10, and an 11) with a poor party composition. I didn't want to TPK the table because the 7 was there.

So this is a request I would not support. However, making sure people know that would be a great idea.

The only issue with that is, we had three other 11's that are not weak.

The previous year special allowed a 7 pregen to play with us at 10-11 tier. The sudden change with no notification is what was the issue.
We were seated and told by the Gm that our pregen couldn't play, so we had to go and re-muster and play as if generics. This is unacceptable.

In the future I'm sure there can be a better way to communicate, or even label tickets for this to not be an issue.

Onto the teachable GM's. I understand that teachable moments occur, but they shouldn't be in an interactive, or at a pinnacle event.
At the end of the day however, everyone was able to balance issues out, and have a good time. That's what really matters here. I would recommend a GM training seminar at Gen Con.

I'd really enjoy being able to sit in with other qualified four or five star GM's and be able to get pointers, or things to help improve my own GM skillz.

There was also the 10 minute break? After that everything devolved into speed runs, where wed place on map, hear things start a combat than one round in, wed be pulling off the map...

Had a great table yesterday with June running 9-01. If any of you ever have the chance to let June run for you, take it. Dude is pretty much a pinnacle GM that always gives people a great time.
The second table was 8-24 and I believe the Prinnys drove people to utter madness. With many screams of "We're Prinnies doood!' As there was more than one at the table, the insanity went from zero to curled up in a corner crying within about ten minutes.

Awesome times.

Casters still need armor. And there is no mage armor spell.

Infamy also delays when you can buy your +2 and +4 stat boosting items.

Rings of resistance, Spell Ampules and Gems (equal to potions and scrolls)

Casters have never needed armor, nor do they really need stat bump items. They help, but the CR system means that PC casters even with large infamy will still always be tossing out them save or suck spells.

Hehehe... have fun with that. Just remember, this is sci fi, blasters are common, all casters are 6 level casters, and there is no such thing as casting defensively anymore. You may find there is no rear line anymore...

Whats a rear line? As long as I get my Phule's company esque adventure fix from Starfinder I'm golden. Casting from the front, the back, upside down, in zero gravity, who cares?

Casters will still be far better than melee with infamy, and nothing heard so far changes this.

Summoners were a class completely rebuilt from the ground up. This is just an archtype change.
To allow someone that has a level 2 lore warden to be so completely different from a fresh level 1 lore warden is too much.

It requires a complete rebuild, feats and abilities change. Also that means that you must purchase a new book to play your existing character, unless they suspend the rule for owning the material for this archetype. And that would create even more problems than grandfathering.

No it doesn't. You have to own the source material to use the class features, so yes if you wish to use any version of Lore Warden you have to own the new book?

But when will the glorious nation of Cheliax rise again? Political warfare? Well, that sounds like a destabilized nation that we need to go in and "assist". We will go grab a few legions of devil's and the like and ride into this Taldor place and get it right as rain.

So, to continue this thread, as I started it, and I'll gosh darn take it where I want it to go.

Spoilers below

I was running Emerald Spire, and there is a bath-house with fully intact tub and two ladies willing to help give a wash n scrub. I had a Cleric that cast Deathward, fearing the worse before entering the bathhouse.

The only thing that made the Cleric even somewhat suspicious was how long one of those ladies could hold her breath underwater.

To his immense surprise, nothing terrible happened to him. (That he remembers) The two ladies gave him a scrub down as it were, becoming quite vexxed over the course of several minutes, until the cleric finally failing the will save mentioned he had Death ward up.

A friendly suggestion to dismiss it for the best of times was mentioned, and the willful cleric went along with it, and enjoyed another minute of bathing bliss before giving up the ghost.

The ladies being the kind sort that they are, put him to bed, and invited the next PC inside.

The moral of the story is, well, no moral - just beware washing wenches! (That's a Renaissance Faire shot there!)

James,

I don't think anyone is accusing you of trying to replace Scotties. I'm going for breakfast Wednesday, however the offerings at Scotties arent engaging this year, which is why I asked for 8-20 and 8-25 for your event, so thanks for making it happen!

Dark Archive 4/5

When do they go on sale James?

Dark Archive 4/5

Wednesday has a 2pm gamr as well.

Not without multi attack.

Archtype Paladin can be Neutral. Just gets reduced powers.

Sorry for your wife's one character DM Beckett. The great thing about PFS is you can just make more characters. I currently have a 15 Sorc 15 Flame Oracle several 10's a few 9's, a 7, and now 5.

The stable grows every day! Just make something new and move forward.
I've had to rebuild a synth summoner, so I understand why and how you'd be upset, but no reason to stop playing.

Dark Archive 4/5

James I'll run 8-20 at 2pm, if I can have a seat for me and 1 other at 8-25 8)

Dark Archive 4/5

Any word back on this? I know we can get play space in the free tables around the con. I'd be happy to host at my hotel as well. I'm interested in a Wednesday 2 pm slot and 7pm slot with 8-20 and 8-25.
I can make a Warhorn for this if needed.

Dark Archive 4/5

Honestly, on a majority of my characters I don't purchase rings of protection, or cloaks of resistance at all.
My Barbarian has a will save of around 5? With no Clear Spindle Ioun stone. He isnt smart enough to know why the item would work for him.

Dark Archive 4/5

Sorry, we just look at things differently. Items get nerfed, get changed. If the only arguement you have is that someones toy got changed, now they wont buy new books or even continue playing, than that sounds like someone that maybe shouldnt be courted for the game.

Change is change, and its for the betterment of the game.

Dark Archive 4/5

I think people take item adjustments too peraonally.
If it gets changed than it gets changed. Thats the liquid nature of any massive multiplayer rpg. Things get nerfed, they get buffed etc. Asking for refunds because an item you got usage out of for even one session shouldnt be allowed.

If you bought it on your last chronicle and it didnt get usef, thats another story, but if youve had use of it for a session or more than it shouldnt be refundable for full price. Thats all.

Dark Archive 4/5

I dont believe that rule is baked in. Its only if campaign leadership allows the item to be sold back at full price.

Dark Archive 4/5

Please dont allow the sale of these back at full price.
People got their moneys worth out of them.

Dark Archive 4/5

James,
I'd be willing to run 8-20 the 7-11 or If we have a great judge willing to step up I'd love to play 8-25

Dark Archive 4/5

Nope, the sky is falling Bob. 8) that's the only answer that will satisfy me. 8)

Humor on a Super Hot Sunday here is all.

Dark Archive 4/5

Am hoping that we may soon be hearing good news for starfinder openings, and maybe 8-25 8-)
