The Disciplines run down three and a half rivers in this case. If he is a native chelaxian and owes the second party property, then he is to be fined, unless the party is an instrument of the kingdom's order and greater law. In that case, they kill you upside down in a gibbet-but if the first party proved he acted in good faith under the eye of a full moon, then he is innocent. Or they could just force you into the guild of clowns, but that's subsection i.19/7-d. Most people plain ignore it. You will need to change tack here.

Shadow, Thanks for the word of advice. I know Sildred went off the beaten path dumping cleric CON, but I always have so much more fun with skilled squishy guys. I am tempted to swap the stealthy feat to provide for a composite longbow situation right out the gate, but the sneakiness quotient seems to suit the AP better.

So hard not to make ALL the options.

Is true. I think mine came out at around 32 for a thoroughly unoptomized character. I assumed this was an RP-heavy campaign. Am I wrong there?

Severus, I'm unsure how it is counterproductive. It seems pretty legit to me: a giant, beefy, magic-resilient, fast-healing rage tank that can blast people with spells.

Here is my (Trux's alias here) submission for consideration.
I went with a stealthy cleric of Nethys in the end, based on the preference in the player guide for the rogue's skillset. My hope is that at first he goes investigating the potential conspiracy looking for the usual forbidden magical power, monetary reward, etc. On the way, hopefully he will get a chance to take a shine to west crown and its inhabitants. In combat he's likely to buff everyone up, negatively channel energy to harm opponents, and use his acolyte ability to pop people with telekinetic dagger attacks, etc.

Appearance, background, motivation, connections, all in the profile. I used the human ability bonus to patch the 8 score in Con. Hope you approve!

Concept for this cat was black silk over leather with shocking white hair.

So, I've put a little thought into this.

Since Demons are the chaotic hellions, S probably has more than a few chaotic impulses, ie: Rage, Lust, Liberation, Entropy, Novelty, Creativity

His oddly lawful nature is likely to come from the pain of disciplined training rather than enlightened self-interest. He's too dumb to train himself.

Sildred's brand is
Demonic, Disciplined, and Dangerous.

Sildred is NOT
Nice, Educated, and Forgiving

1) Sildred's fear of his father's disdain largely keeps him in line. He has been trained through harsh punishment to control impulses and clearly assess situations.

2) Perhaps Sildred's low intelligence contributes to his sense of selfish superiority.

3)While the other Hell Knights might pour over tomes of laws, he can barely read them. Still he's patient enough to finish the job - it just might take him a year to finish a 1,000 page codex, etc.

4)Hopefully as he works more with the hellknights he can come to grips with what kind of person his mother must have been. It might even redeem him enough for a bump up to LN. Maybe.

More Background!:
The hellknight order puts two demons in a pit. Many in the crowd may be smiling behind their masks. Sildred will never know for sure. They would be content to see them tear each other apart.
They would be happy to see him fail.

For a year he has endured the slings and arrows spent by his enemies. Jibes and insults futilely tendered in hopes to crack him. His enemies were fools to identify themselves.

He is the son of Zara - The chellish swordmaiden he never knew. She was a Hellknight. The only woman his father ever may have feared.
Father seduced her with his charms, and he had her bear his child. And then Father killed her in the aftermath when she was weak. She never saw it coming.

Most of these... these humans and what not. They are lost. They have so little imagination... They have probably never imagined what they loiok like when they are screaming and broken animals. Wretched creatures of just pain. Some may prove worthwhile, but the rest will regret crossing me. All in due time, of course.

Sildred locks his jaw and through his teeth he funnels his pent up rage at the hellknights. Him focuses it like a divine ray. Him's target is the opponent's glaive.

1.I saw some of the others ran it this way. Hope this helps speed things up further.
2.Also, the Him-ing is intentional. Tell me if it's too much.
3.Obviously, if the demon's glaive is magical, then the Shatter ability won't work here. I don't know. Sildred sure as hell doesn't know, so he'll probably try.

"Good Trux, Go. Sildred's coarse and unusued voice sends Trux back upwards into the reaches of the pit. The Armiger retreats another five feet back. Five more feet the Devil must fight for.

Sildred knocks two more silvered arrows in quick succession.

Round 6 - With Intention:
The armiger steps back out of range again. Sildred's hand goes back for a pair of alchemical silver arrows, and fires them rapidly one after another.
attack1: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 9 - 2 = 15
His first shot is not intuitive, it lacks grace as his excitement takes over.
attack2: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 2 = 27
But the second is true, natural, vicious.
damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 - 1 = 4 (x3=12)

The first arrow is a signal, and Trux dives from on hight to swooping charge the devil again.
Melee Bite: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 - 1 = 23
damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 x2 = 2 (Devil gets staggered again for 1 round)

Sildred raises his hand high, then reaches it out to Bestow Curse upon the devil.

attack2: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 25

Sildred delays until after Trux attacks before taking a five-foot step backwards.

The armiger takes a few more steps back. In his mind his koan continues. (5ft step out of range)

He lifts his holy symbol high, then lowers it to his lips. He kisses it, intoning as he casts his prayer.
Now, from on high, Trux dives down and tries to strike the devil from behind.
bite-Swooping Charge: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21(+1 more for prayer)
if succesful - staggered target: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7(+1 more for prayer)

I get that. My confusion stems from positioning. Was I face to face with him at that point? I thought we had a five foot square between us. Oh well.

My only strategy was to try and avoid provoking an attack of opportunity. How/what provoked an AOO?

I'm probably within 15 feet.
Sildred starts in the south, Devil in the north.
Sildred takes one step south - out of zone of threat.
Then moves to the right. 20ft movement puts him at the edge of the devil's 10ft reach SE

Previous to entering the ring...
Sildred lets out a gasp of shock at the loss of Eoko. Still, he sets his jaw and enters the pit with his bow drawn. He hopes to fight as well... so long as his faith in Erastil protects him long enough to get some spells off.

Sildred's Duel:
Entering the pit...
Sildred takes 12 damage total from the Demon's opening attack.
Sildred moves back and circles around the fierce glaive-weilder. Then casts Santuary on himself. His left hand clutches his silver symbol tightly.
Erastil protect your servants.
Morality surrenders to order.
one man; two men...

He signals Trux to fly up into the air (50ft up above the demon).


Not certain if you need the following because of infernal wounds.
Concentration:
1d20+10/+13vs oustiders: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

DC I think would be 12 to cast 12=dmg/2+Casterlvl+10 or 1+1+2
