Silas eagerly takes Mr. Peppers' spellbook and finds a comfortable spot in the sand, tracing his finger along each page. He takes out a vial of ink and a featherpen and begins delicately copying the runes, holding the book up for Mr. Peppers to approve his work after he's done. "Not bad, right? I think this one will be particularly useful," he says as he finishes up a copy of the Color Spray spell.
Silas can only ever use level-0 and level-1 spells, so that's all he copies.
When he's done, he uses prestidigation to wipe off any collected sand and dirt and returns the book to Mr. Peppers. "Thank you. With your help, Silas the Great just became Silas the Greater!" He says as he throws his arm around Mr. Peppers and laughs.
Later on
Silas joins Mr. Peppers, Sirettis, and Nadini at dinner, but not as a guest, rather as a performer. He takes his spot above his stage. "Thank you for coming. How's the lighting in here, folks? You, in particular, are looking a little dim." He points a finger at one of the waitstaff and makes the metal plate and cloche he'd been holding glow brightly. "Better."

Silas grins smugly yet his eyes show a tinge of disbelief, and he pulls out his spellbook, flipping to the page for Message. He holds the book in one hand while continuing to manipulate wands with another, buying time until he understands the spell. "Is it just me, or are you..." He pauses abruptly, then points to the same waiter. "Hearing things?" The halfling waiter gasps, "It's true! He's in my head!"

He continues his act until he's exhausted all of his low level talents, then parks himself at the table and enjoys his roast lamb and potatoes.
As he turns down for the night, Silas pulls out a piece of parchment and begins to write.
Brother - Today, I met with this resourceful bunch, The Red Arm of Absalom. They had a few mages of their own, though one had a strange bird assisting in her spells, the other was quite skilled in classic arcane magic. And he's helped me. Magic of untold power flows through my veins, brother! ... Rivaling anything I'd ever seen you use! Hah! Silas is writing so hastily at this point, that much of the words are illegible. You should've seen the magical construct we took out today. And we wiped the floor with some Aspis jerks! What have YOU accomplished?! He stops and drops the pen, crumpling up the paper.
Why do I care? Still... He uncrumples it, signs it with an S., and drops it off at Pashow Post.

Sirettis had done such a good job of explaining their findings, that Silas simply stood there, still in shock at the power of Mr. Peppers' toppling magic missile."A blast so strong it knocked her off her feet..." he mumbles to himself in a trance like state. "Mr. Peppers, I was wrong. You're a great wizard yourself. A little odd, perhaps kind of awkwardly serious, but skilled nonetheless. And I swear I'm not just saying this to get a peek at that spellbook of yours!"
But seriously, can Silas copy what he can from that spellbook already? :P
"Yes, if you're looking for honesty and continued takedowns of corrupt governments, the Pathfinder Society is for you," Silas combines his harsh remark of Ziralia's father with a thumbs up.
I'm a little sad that I'll likely miss or be unable to participate in the conclusion of this fun little adventure. At the same time, I'm quite happy to escape my job for a week.
I'm flying out Friday and wifi at resorts is always spotty at best. I'll be able to read from time to time, but it's unlikely I'll post much, if at all.
"Sirettis, you've really got to teach me what magic allows you to fly like that. It's really quite something... Silas the Glider, swooping down onto stage..." Silas swoons for a minute, then double moves closer to the red and green duo.
As blue is knocked out by the fists of Silas the Great, he bows and grins at Uesugi as an immediate action. "And that, my bald, horse-mounted friend, is how you take out an Aspis agent. Quit ponying around."
"Hey guys, where'd you all go?!" Silas looks on at the cloud enveloping the others. "Not a problem. Silas the Great has everything under control! Hey blue guy, you ever been punched by a wizard with frosty metal gloves?" Silas steps south and tries to simulate Gallix's jab and uppercut.

Silas runs into the fray. "Finally, a chance to show off the magical fists of Silas the Great! I'll be right with you, dear," he taunts blue from next to the tents.
My action was a double move to get closer to blue.
Silas lifts his robes in a huff as he stomps across the desert, sand getting into every crevice. "I just drycleaned this thing! Come on!"
When the team arrives near the camp, he listens to the others' ideas, then offers his own. "I can also use the cover of invisibility to unleash a particularly painful attack from behind," he shows his metal gloves, "Not unlike Gallix here, just much cooler."
I have a wand of vanish, as I'm sure you all know, but going in for a sneak attack could be pretty dangerous at my level. Perhaps several of us could sneak in.
You play Kingdom Death Monster? I haven't played it yet, but I'm watching a Let's Play and they just got up to this guy. He sounds super nasty!
We sure do! Uesugi introduced me to it a few months back and it's been a lot of fun. The Lion had its own set of challenges and we lost a survivor to it, but The Butcher was just ruthless and we nearly got TPKed. Nearly. We figured out we had been pulling one too few AI cards each round and decided to conveniently restart that fight...
"A cloud of poison, she says," Silas looks at Sirettis sideways. "What school of magic is this? I have not seen such conjurations before. Perhaps you are more skilled than I'd earlier believed. Anyway," he continues, pulling his purple hood tight around his head, "I can probably sneak up on their camp and get a good vantage point, then perhaps one of you can launch a preemptive attack. Sir B's sprays of sand are particularly powerful, if not overly pragmatic and downright boring..." He shows D a toothy smile, then notices what's likely his smoldering glare. "Okay okay, sorry, awesomely powerful sand bullets is all I meant!"
Morning guys. Didn't manage to get a post up yesterday since Uesugi and I were trying to defend our humble settlement of survivors from an axe-wielding, face-ripping monster.
By the way, Mr. Peppers, a 10 am post after a night of drinking is laudable.
Silas grabs Mr. Peppers arm. "Wait. I wanted to take a look at it first. It's not every day that I get this up close and personal with such a magical little bottle." He squats down to look at it and adds, "A thief is the last thing I'd consider myself as, friend. Say, you don't look familiar." He turns to Lady Zirallia. "What's your friend's name, miss?"

"Well, that wasn't so bad!" Silas says as he drops guard, then winces as a sharp stinging in his arm overtakes his thoughts. "Ugh, I've gotta fix this, and I must utilize an inferior divine spell to cure these wounds. One moment." He does his detect magic trick and then begins "casting."

Before long, Silas' wounds close up and he grins widely. "Good as new! It must be safe to examine that secret compartment now, right?" Silas steps back into the chamber and checks it for traps.
"Yes, please. I've come so far in my arcane training that such devices as these are too simplistic for me to get a grip on." He subtly laughs to himself. Or something like that. Then hands the wand to Sirettis.
Silas shrieks as he's grabbed in by the altar's chains. "GUYS! It's got me! Stop it!" Escape Artist, Vest of Escape:1d20 + 6 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 6 = 31Can I get an Austin Powers Yeah baby! I assume a 31 beats its CMD.
Silas slips out of the altar's grasp, retreating from the room. "Uesugi, get in there and I'll double your size, strength, and blade!"
"Ah-ha!" Silas walks over to the back left corner of the transport. Hopefully with everyone else"There should be a secret compartment right... here! It's lined with lead. Maybe we can use it for cover?" He points to the tile marked with an 'X'.
Silas takes out the 'mystical stick' Uesugi provided him with. "Ah, I don't use these things very often. I'd rather rely on my innate magical abilities."Bluff, Heroism:1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8"Let me know when you want me to use this," he says to Uesugi.
"Yes, there's supposed to be a compartment. Don't be fooled by the vials here! They're tricks that will cause it to attack us!"
"Sirettis! I'm so glad I'm not here alone - who would be my audience for my next act?"

When the temperature rises, Silas quickly picks up on it. "Is it just me, or is it getting hot in here? Er, I really don't mean that in the way it sounds. It must be the desert heat trap." He looks around for a switch or something to turn off the vents. "Hang on, I know what to do. That trapsmith wasn't so skilled at her craft!"
"Um, HELLO?" Silas obliviously yells out from his 'cell.' "A curious trick. Am I in another plane? What's going on here? Mr. Peppers? Sirettis? Sir P? ... Guys?" While he's alone, he double checks that all of his wands are still neatly lined in their designated pockets. "Hah, I really have them going with the whole vanishing act! They'll never know!" He paces around the room a few times, then checks the door.
"Fine!" Silas starts walking a broad circle around the transport, first clockwise, then counterclockwise, while yelling back "You guys better not be messing with me!"
"But they're so... ugly. Very well, give me those," Silas says, strapping on the lenses. "Silas the Ridiculous-looking right now... All in the name of getting into this damn transport..."
I do the same thing. If I choose green or red as a token colour in Google Slides, that creature becomes the green-toothed goblin or the red-toqued demon.
"Silas, thank you for taking the lead. You have learned much from studying their traps and locks, like a master thief."

Silas hides his tools behind his back. "Er, I picked these up thinking they were magical, and when I realized they weren't, I decided I'd hang on to them for when I got bored during conjuration class! Yeah, that's it!"

Silas smiles. "I've no idea what that spell did, miss, but I'm feeling a lot more determined now! Let's find this elusive entrance!" Silas casts Detect Magic and has a closer look at the seam.
"Haha, now I've got you!" Silas says as he fades back into visible light, flanking Azul with two metal fists. "Eat thi--... Oh... Really guys? You couldn't wait just a second longer? I was just about to... Nevermind!" Silas sighs, then moves up to the transport, inspecting the door. What does he see? If he sees a locked door, he checks it for traps, then begins to work on it.

He uses his invisibility to close the distance to Azul.
Silas will remain invisible until he's up again. I may regret deciding to go the melee route being underleveled and all. Whatever, no fun in playing it safe!
Yeah, Silas is shaking in his boots being level 3 and all. I have a few options but I want to see what Gallix does first. I could activate bless, or get back and lob a snowball. Or do the daring move, activate chill touch and try to full attack next round.
Get noticed by the guards? Oh, don't mind if I do!
With the dogs running off, Silas approaches the guards, nonchalantly clapping his hands as he begins to introduce himself. "LAAADIES AND GENTLEMEN...! From the cultural capital of Varisia, introducing the friend of dwarves, elves, gnomes, and even goblins, the traveling performer, master of magic, grand vizier of Absalom's Arcanium, some say he could have stopped Earthfall himself, children and adults everywhere are amazed by his wit, talent, and sheer skill, oh yes, I give you... SILAS THE GREEEAAATTTTT!" He bows and awaits his "reception."
Silas nods and smiles at Mr. Peppers. "You're not so bad with that magic of yours, you know. Not quite Great, but good enough. Anyhow, I'm ready when you are," Silas gives him a thumbs up, signaling he's ready for the spell, and once Mr. Peppers is ready, he floats down with his arms spread wide in a display of bravado. It takes everything in him to not give himself a big entrance announcement.
"I, for one, wouldn't mind getting up close and personal with the transport. Someone has to take care of the desert heat trap and secret door, after all, and I've got just the spell to do it!" Silas beams as he sticks with Mr. Peppers at his safe vantage point. "I'll hold off until those dancing lights throw off the guards though."
How would one get down from these cliffs? How high up are they? How tall is the transport?
