As the halfling watches Maldrek continue to pummel enemies before him, he feels the need to locate the blonde woman again. Just as his eyes make contact with her a rainbow of color hits him.

No I did not take cover into account before. Posted from work and had no access to the map.

Let me know if I performed the next part correctly.

Roscoe sees a way in which he can reach the rapier dude to continue helping and drops his crossbow Free Action and takes a small step forward as he draws his Morningstar from his side Move Action. Once within range the diminutive halfling aims his morningstar at the man's knees, hoping a good swing will bring the man down to Roscoe's size Standard Action.

Seeing double of the dark-haired woman, Roscoe decides to take aim at the blonde woman instead, after watching her magic missiles slam into Maldrek.

"Maldrek, I'd recommend smashing the little guy. Roscoe says, flashing a slight grin before releasing another shot with his crossbow.

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

The little halfling seems to have found his stride, as another bolt whistles through the air and strikes his target.

After the bevy of awful attacks the party has had, Roscoe finally sends a bolt flying that hits with some force.

Roscoe searches his kit for another bomb, but realizes he has expended them all. With that, he reaches for his crossbow and takes aim at the dark-haired woman.

But the halfling who is more accustomed to chucking bombs at his foes shows his inexperience with the crossbow as the bolt flies wide of its target.

Roscoe grabs up one of his remaining bombs abs tosses it at the lady.

"As many spells as you are throwing around, let's find out how much you like fire!" the halfling yells as a bomb goes flying through the air.

"Well met," Roscoe says as he walks up to Zarta and extends his hand. "Congratulations on your recent promotion, as I'm sure protection and finding of the relics you speak of is no easy task." Roscoe turns his back to Zarta and locates a chair. He hops up onto the seat before continuing to speak.

"You're friend didn't have much to say on the way in, but it looks like you were expecting us at any moment. We are all members of the Society as you have already figured, and were hoping you could help us." Roscoe trails off for a moment before continuing again. "My friends and I" he says waving his short arm across the room, "have been busy all day completing a set of tasks given to us. One of them is to retrieve this trinket you mentioned."

"We very much would like to be able to let you continue with your business without us burdening you any further. With that," Roscoe gives a slight pause, "how can we go about getting this trinket so that we may be out of your way quickly." Roscoe flashes Zarta a grin, hoping that by comparison to the last task the party can get the item and leave quickly.

"Oh, and be careful of our friend Maldrek over there," Roscoe says pointing at the large tiefling. "He's good for many things, mostly strength related, but his wits are not the sharpest. He will take anything you say in the most literal fashion." Roscoe smiles at Maldrek and says "I would recommend very straightforward statements with him."

"AHHHHHH!" Roscoe screams as flails his arm in midair, flapping in a bird like fashion. The halfling focuses long enough to reach out and grab the key.

"Not what I meant Maldrek. And next time, please warn me before throwing me. I'm not a bird and with all these bombs," Roscoe says looking at his belt, "I'm quite likely to go boom upon landing."

"Akvius, do be careful. I'm sure these keys aren't readily available elsewhere."

Roscoe turns his attention back to the jeweled scepter. Before reaching for the scepter, the noises of gears still moving catches his attention.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

"Maldrek my large friend, could you retrieve that key," the little halfling says pointing to the key dangling from the ceiling.

While Maldrek retrieves the key, Roscoe slowly abd carefully removes the scepter.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Is there anything noticeable about the scepter? Does anything turn, click, or other things?

"If I had to guess, the key with the runes is meant for that chest," Roscoe says pointing to the red chest. "The other key should fit in the other keyhole."

Roscoe will move to the chests and try the keys based on his observations.

"Anyone able to figure out what the liquid is?" Roscoe pipes up from behind the clutter. "Probably best we know what it is before Maldrek smashes into it."

"If you let me," Roscoe says as he tries to squeeze past the group. "If it is some kind of potion I'm sure I can identify it, you know with my knowledge of such things." The halfling flashes a grin as he reaches for the jar full of liquid.

"So he just wants us to get a map from his vault, or am I misunderstanding?" Roscoe gives a slight tilt to his head when asking the question. Seems a little too easy, and something they should be able to do easily enough on their own.

"Is there something else inside this vault we may happen across? I don't do well with surprises, especially with the explosives hanging by my side you know?"

"What does the medicine taste like that she gave you when you were sick? I know when I was a kid, I always hated anything that my parents gave me, especially when they would say it was going to "help me feel better,"" the halfling says while rolling his eyes. "Most of the stuff that parents say will make you feel better always tastes awful."

"Ethan how long have you lived here? It seems Auntie Baltwin keeps everyone happy?" Roscoe asks while watching the kid's expressions. "How many kids live here do you know?"

Roscoe looks around and takes note of the other children doing chores and takes a mental note. I've seen only a few children so far and none of them appear sick.

"It sounds like a couple of the other kids are a little sick here. How long do you think they've been sick?" the halfling asks Ethan. He decides to wait for some answers so as not to overburden the young child before asking anymore questions.

"I can assure you my friend I do not wish to be thrown. And trust me, you don't want to throw me, especially with these bombs secured to my side," Roscoe says pointing to the items attached to his belt. "The aftermath of such a thing would be good for no one."

Roscoe notices the precarious position the crate sits in. "Any sudden movement, or too much weight may cause the crate to crash through the floor. I highly doubt this prince wants us to return his items after they've been dropped into the water below."

The little halfling begins looking around to see if there is anything that could be used to lift the crate and move it to a safer location.

Roscoe enjoys over hearing the interactions between Maldrek and the rest of the party. Comedic relief, if only the poor sap truly understood. Oh well, makes things interesting at least he thinks as a smile spreads across his face.

The little halfling pipes up, "Sounds like the only thing left to do is get this item then." As Roscoe is speaking he notices Maldrek walking off in the direction of the docks, so he runs to catch up.

"Surely you don't intend to go into this warehouse on your own do you? You can't pick it up and throw it you know?" Roscoe chuckles a little at his last statement. Best be a little careful, I'm sure this guy wouldn't have any difficulty using me as a throwing weapon. "Besides, even if you could pick up the warehouse, there is probably easier ways to go about this."

"Maybe the front door is unlocked?" Roscoe will try the door handle to the warehouse to see if by chance it is already unlocked for the party. If not, he will look around for any other noticeable entrance.

Roscoe watches the lizard running through the lodge from a corner chair and a smile spreads across his face. Nothing like a little mischief to start the day. A small chuckle comes out of the halfling as he watches the brutish tiefling running through the lodge displacing everything in his path trying to catch the little lizard. Apparently he didn't hear the witch saying to let him be. This should make for some interesting interactions.

Roscoe quits watching the lizard and goes back to reading the book in his lap. His brown hair is short and tidy and he wears a plain looking black vest over top his leather armor. The part most noticeable however is the vials dangling from his waist, ranging in colors from red to green to yellow. Beside him on the floor rests his backpack, and within arms reach his halfling sized crossbow.

Upon hearing Theon ask everyone their specialities, and feeling the eyes of the man land upon him, Roscoe looks up to the group. Quite a bunch we have here, we won't stand out at all. Two tieflings, one with a tiny dragon running around, a fox lady, and this human with all the weapons strapped to him. Not to mention myself at that thought Roscoe chuckles to himself. Should be a fun adventure indeed.

"I'm Roscoe Shortwick, so called because my family has had a long history of, shall we say, dabbling with explosives. My surname, as you could guess, was given to us by others in the community because of my great-grandfathers mishap with a bomb. Needless to say, if you don't give yourself enough time to duck and cover things tend to end badly for you!" Roscoe smiles at the party, hoping his smallish stature and his family's tale will bring about a little laughter to the group. "My grandfather, and father, and now me have all followed his footsteps, only we've improved upon some of his early formulae, as well as made sure the wick on the bombs was a little longer. But enough about family history..." Roscoe says as he trails off for a short moment "I'll be the groups bomb, explosive, all things fun expert. Glad to meet you all." With that last statement Roscoe begins walking around the room shaking everyone's hand, starting with Theon.

Upon reaching Akvius, Roscoe looks at Gleek "Cute little fella. Where did you find this little guy? Wouldn't mind having one myself just for the entertainment," he says with a grin. "Although, I'd have to teach mine to be careful in the workshop, don't need any unexpected explosions you know?"
