That's totally fair, Adolina. It's good to walk away sometimes. Hope you get a little bit more free time back with the change!

It's been great gaming with you all. And I appreciate Doc Evil for stepping in to after I talked him into doing so! Really sorry it didn't pan out. It was a good run while it lasted, and perhaps we'll find a way to play together once more.

Inactive

I do think that the holidays are a reason for delay.

I also think we are all going to die in this fight, so it would be interesting to see if we survive.

Inactive

It may be time to let this one go . . .

Inactive

Cadas's plan sounds good to me.

Inactive

Maybe Marcellano should cast Blink? He looks really exposed in his current position.

Inactive

As the bad guys teleport through the wall to their side, Robin flees to Cadas's side. He tries another line on the giant. "Oh look, mommy and daddy came because they were worried about you!"

Hideous Laughter again. Will DC 18.

Inactive

Inspire Courage is also in effect!

Robin moves up next to Cadas to stay within her protective magics, focusing intently on the giant with a giant stone in his hand. "I expected giants to have big balls, but that is ridiculous!" He grins and adds a few gestures, hoping his humor will take hold.

Move using Blessing of Fervor. Cast Hideous Laughter on giant bodyguard, Will DC 18.

Inactive

Oh that's right, thanks for the correction.

I'll have to focus on the giants! Or maybe lots of grease. ;)

Inactive

Oh I remember now how lamias are immune to mind affecting.

Didn't we fight and defeat Lucrecia already? I remember the immunity to mind affecting and how that shut Robin down completely.

Inactive

Do we think Marcellano is coming back? Makes all the difference.

Inactive

It all looks good to me!

Inactive

So I was trying to remember where all my spell slots went, and I remember now that we have a crapton of buffs that I think should last long enough to apply to this battle!

Heroism - 100 minutes per person (used 4 2nd level spells)
Freedom of Movement - 100 minutes on Adolina
Communal Delay Poison - 180 minutes on Adolina, Cadas; 120 minutes on Robin, Marcellano
Magic Circle Against Evil - 100 minutes on all who stay within 10 feet of Cadas
Barkskin - 100 minutes on Cadas +4 AC
Message - 100 minutes on all
Mage Armor - 10 hours on Marcellano

"Shouldn't you do something besides sit there?" says Robin back to the giant king. Taking a step forward, he babbles some strange words, focusing on the faraway enemies, and hoping to get the enemies to do something really stupid!

5-foot step, Inspire Courage (move action), Confusion targeting Lucrecia and Barl Breakbones, Will DC19.

Inactive

I think that's a great idea! I would want you to play whatever character you would enjoy, whether that's a re-tooled Marcellano or someone completely different that we rescue from these caves. Liking the character you play is the essential starting point.

Inactive

With Adolina healed back up, Robin leads the way to the next site to explore. "Let's head east, we haven't looked there yet. And this time, stick together!"

Inactive

"Sounds like a plan to me!" says the halfling in approval. "Okay, no more sneaking around so far ahead, Adolina! Better to stick together so we can fight these things together!"

Is it correct that Adolina is at full HP, while Shadowlina has 14 damage? Not sure if I can help with Shadowlina.

Inactive

"Good thinking Adolina," agrees Robin as they collect some hair. "Maybe we have Lamatar watch our back as we continue on in this place?"

Inactive

The halfling is surprised when the captain doesn't charge Adolina, but instead just stands there. He looks to Marcellano and sees that there's magic at work.

"Woah, what did you do, Marcy?" says Robin in surprise. "If he's under your control now, maybe we should ask him how he became like this, and if there's any way to change him back."

Inactive

Robin hurries forward into the action, then gets ready to conjure some grease if Lamatar approaches!

Move, ready action Grease spell to trip him if he moves adjacent to Adolina.

Inactive

"Never fear--Robin is here!" With limited magics left, Robin can only cheer on his friend!

Move, start Inspire Courage! +2/+2 to attack/damage.

Inactive

Robin runs another 80 feet, finally arriving to see a battle between shadowy shapes! He finds cover if he can.

Inactive

Don't forget Marcellano's initiative!

Robin dashes along as fast as he can manage. Run action, moving 80 feet.

Inactive

Pre-scouting healing on Adolina!

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

3 CLW charges remain . . . we should buy a new one soon! Also 8 charges of CMW remain.

Inactive

"On our way! Not sure I can do that little teleportation trick again!:

Out of 4th level spells, so will just start running!

Inactive

Damn, these enemies have been so perceptive!

Inactive

Refresh Message on everyone.

"We can take out the leaders, no need to fight the entire clan in the meantime."

Robin waits for Adolina to report back.

Inactive

Robin whispers to the party once more, aided by the Message spell. "Not that I like these creepy hags, but might be better to let them be in charge than their husband-sons. Maybe . . . "

He feels the need to ask one more question. "Before we go, there's one thing I don't get. You three were working some sorta magic when we saw you. What was it?"

Inactive

"Well, they might be playing it straight for now," whispers Robin as he feels the hags are speaking truth.

Speaking loudly once more, he addresses the hags. "Hold on, are you saying Breakbones is a necromancer? Did he turn the Captain into an undead? Why did you call him the cold captain?"

Inactive

Robin tries to see if he can sense a lie from these hags.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Regardless of whether or not he senses anything, he remains suspicious. Robin whispers to the others.

"Psst, I think this is a bad deal, I don't trust these hags for a second!"

Inactive

"Wait, what's so funny? I didn't even say anything yet!" Robin eyes the two hags carefully, not trusting them at all. "What did you do to the Captain?"

Inactive

"Eww . . . husband sons, that sounds gross!" Robin holds from further combat for now, though he watches warily for any signs of magic. He sees if his companions also hold off from combat.

If they do, he chimes in. "Welp, looks like you bought yourselves a few seconds. Better talk quick!" He waits to see what they have to say.

Inactive

+10 bonus from Robin's Grease! Of course, this raises the question of whether natural 1s are auto-fail (they are for attack rolls but not for skill checks, so what's an in-combat Escape Artist roll count as?)

Inactive

Seeing Adolina being squeezed, Robin will instead cover her in slippery grease, making it easier for her to get away! Casting Grease on Adolina to increase her CMD versus grapple.

"I think you're confusing parley with surrender!" retorts Robin.

Inactive

Pretty sure swift/immediate action spells don't provoke.

Inactive

Robin decides he will cast grease under the nearest foe as soon as the fog clears!

Which will break Robin's invisibility.

"Marcy, go do that trick where you speed everyone up!" suggests Robin.

Haste would be my suggestion for Marcellano.

Inactive

For Marcellano, my suggestion is to summon a monster that can get rid of the fog. I don't have much experience with summons, though. Is an air elemental of sufficiently high level able to deal with the fog, maybe with the whirlwind ability?

Robin just continues to encourage his allies in battle. He's hoping there's a way to deal with this fog.

Inactive

Oh shoot, I totally missed that it's my turn again!

As fog obscures his vision, Robin calls out. "I know you hags are ugly, there's no need to hide it!" Robin inspires his allies in his own way, while stepping forward.

"Okay, fine, two can play the hiding game!" Robin casts a spell and touches Marcellano. When he doe so, both Robin and Marcellano disappear from view!

5-foot step, Inspire Courage, Invisibility Sphere on Marcellano.

Inactive

Oh hey, it's a Pathfinder 2E game! Time to break out something new!

Inactive

I don't know how precise I can be, because I'm teleporting us to a place I haven't seen before. I'll put us on the map based on teleporting right next to Adolina.

Inactive

Oh, apparently I can bring up to 3 people. Let's do this.

As it becomes apparent that Adolina has been detected, Robin gets to work. "Everyone hold hands--I'm taking us there using a shortcut!"

*Pop*

With the aid of some magics, the party heads through a dimensional rift and makes a sudden appearance to the battle! Robin is momentarily too tired to act further.

Okay, I popped in. That necessarily ends my action per the Dimension Door spell.

Inactive

@DocEvil -- can we get into the battle a round faster if I cast Dimension Door taking Cadas with me?

Inactive

"Time to move!" whispers Robin with urgency as Adolina believes she's detected. He moves as fast as his little legs can manage!

Inactive

Robin brightens at Adolina's proposal. "Oh, I could do better than some pebbles. I could conjure some lights to travel from where they are to where we're waiting!" Dancing lights. Robin looks around to see if Cadas and Marcellano are on board with the plan.

Inactive

"Of course we're connected, we're standing right next to each other!"

Robin grins, knowing full well he wasn't the intended audience of that message.

Inactive

Thanks, Cadas! I've tweaked my sheet thanks to your review.

Now that you mention it, I remember that promise!

Inactive

Robin also can't see in dim light or darkness.

"Ogres certainly smell in the dark!" retorts Robin, pinching his nose. He nods as Adolina offers to scout out ahead. Robin's main concern appears to be getting himself warm, as the halfling entertainer hops, skips, and jumps in place.

Inactive

Woohoo! Thank you for that very helpful recap! I totally didn't understand what the dam had to do with anything, but it's definitely interesting to understand that we've been experiencing endless rain!

Personally, I'd rather not backtrack to the entry into Hook Mountain. Like you said, I care more about the story and immersion than the combats, and redoing some combats against generic ogres isn't that exciting to me. I've been tracking my stats and spell usage and believe they're accurate.

I have no idea how we've been tracking miscellaneous loot. I mostly think we haven't gotten that kind of loot recently.

Cadas did get a magical trident that GM Papa ruled was large size. I believe your ruling would be that magic items in general get resized based on their wielder. That would really help Cadas in combat. Is that accurate?

Have a great time in Italy!

Welcome back!

1) The Paradise was a boat that sank. The sinking appears deliberate and is related to some sort of sacrifice, probably associated with sacrificing greedy people. The sihedron rune was cleverly used as a pass to get people on board the boat.

2) I have some clue, but I don't think Robin has any clue.

3) Adopted father. Who I believe we end up rescuing.

4) I don't remember what happened to the Black Arrows we rescued.

Thanks for the update--really appreciate you clearing the space!
