![]() Hi all. My "swamping" has not yet ended, it seems, and it probably won't until tomorrow afternoon at the least. I'm guessing we're about to head into combat so would Sully or somebody else please run Rani for me? Or, say she stayed in camp with the flu or something. Haven't even had a chance to update her to 2nd yet. :( ![]()
![]() DM Sully wrote: Rani immediately recognizes this as a temple of Erastil, and a lost one at that. Oooh! Oooh! How exciting. I should be back to normal tomorrow evening and posting regularly again. Until then: "Look! I have seen a number of shrines to Erastil in this wilderness but this is a real temple. What a find!" Despite her exitement, Rani approaches the temple cautiously. ![]()
![]() Sorry, at my regular game today...was out of Internet range. :) Nearly lost my pally to a nasty green dragon. Squeaked by but the battle rages onward. How do you guys rule the fly spell works underwater? Function at all? Less well (reduced move, etc.)? Just curious...can post of discussion thread if you have a comment. "I do not know what happened here but this trap makes no sense, much like the bear traps ignorantly placed. It reminds me of an old saying of Erastil's: The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits." Survival 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 = 27 ![]()
![]() Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 "Karthas! Your hair...looks like someone's been at the pranks again." Rani giggles a little and traces a finger along Karthas' new stripe. Edit: nope. don't see nuthin'. Rani looks over at Berenkor but sees that he's sound asleep. She muses silently, "maybe he *was* telling the truth...but if not him, then who?" She looks around the nearby landscape for signs of visitors but sees nothing. ![]()
![]() Karthas wrote: "Rani, you want my bedroll for the night? The weather's not so bad, I can do without." "Thank you, Karthas; you are a gentleman. Fortunately I have an extra blanket," she flashes a glare at Berenkor. "Keep your bedroll so that you, at least, get a decent night's sleep." Looking back I guess Sully didn't say but I assumed this happened to her while on watch. ![]()
![]() Rani mutters, "Oh! Pretend to be asleep all you want...I know it was you. Blasted pranks. So impractical." Rani grabs a dry blanket, scoots closer to the fire, and goes back to cleaning her equipment. For Sully: Well, I assume that *wasn't* Berenkor since I didn't see any spoiler tags from him...unless he's e-mailing tricks offline. But it makes sense given their earlier tension. Now, the question is...who did it? LOL. I could have only made the low Perception check with a 19+. ![]()
![]() Berenkor Trandoran wrote: By all means, go ahead Priestess Berenkor says softly with a gentle smile. Rani smiles back, "Wisdom and wit of your degree are often appreciated on such perilous journies as these, good gnome." She spends some time clearing debris away from the cairn, ensuring an orderly appearance, then says a few prayers of restfulness to Erastil. Survival 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 27 (if the +2 still applies). I think I may have thrown a guidance in there in a previous post. Not sure it's appropriate to use it for a situation where your skill is tested over a long period (even if there's only one roll)...more for something where there's one check and you know it's coming. That's my interpretation anyway so I'll leave it off from now on. Edit: Roight! Ovah heah, weeve got...croikey! Lookitem! That's a crok...big as Tiamat, 'ee is. ![]()
![]() Hmmm. The KM piece on Erastil is strangely silent on burial rites. Nonetheless: "I also do not wish to disturb the peacefully resting...and certainly not to merely see what goods they may have been buried with. If you will allow me, I will clean up this shrine before we leave and say a few words that may keep those buried here at peace for a while longer." ![]()
![]() Berenkor Trandoran wrote: Berenkor was specifically noted as muttering 'quietly to himself'; that's fairly obviously not expecting IC responses for something he says. :S kind of irritating. I'll be sure that Berenkor will think to himself in future, so until someone starts casting detect thoughts this won't happen again. {shrugs} Try not making it bold? I didn't notice the part after the bold. ![]()
![]() Rani wrote: If she knows she's going to have to help Tyr with another Fort save she'll give it a go (after casting guidance): Heal 1d20+7+1. Just wanted to make a special note of this one. If Tyr has another fort save coming and Rani's 21 beats the DC then he should get a +4 bonus on it. Don't know for sure what's going on but she doctored it the best she could. :) ![]()
![]() Sorry, folks, been out most of the weekend. Rani will examine Tyr's wound. Heal 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10. Can she tell anything about it? Is anyone else injured? If so, she'll channel, if not she'll cast CLW on Tyr. Rani looks over Tyr's arm. "Nothing that a little rest won't fix," she says reassuringly, despite the look of worry she tries to hide. "Do not worry, Karthas. Erastil will see to your weariness in the morning. In the meantime just keep us safe from that...creature." So, either CLW 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 on Tyr or Channel 1d6 ⇒ 2 on the group, excluding wolfie. She will tentatively examine the creature to make sure he's not going to croak during the evening: Heal 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27. If she knows she's going to have to help Tyr with another Fort save she'll give it a go (after casting guidance): Heal 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 1 = 21. ![]()
![]() Rani will try to aid another again - on whomever's toughest in this particular melee (Karthas?). Not sure if she's flanking or not 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5 (+2 if flanking, right? My group rarely uses this so I'm not sure if all combat bonuses apply.) Edit: USELESS! (where's the Unreal announcer when you need him?) "Aaaah! If I keep going that way I'm going to cut you guys!" ![]()
![]() We haven't really gridded this out so I don't know which melee Rani's near but she's going to drop the bow, pull a dagger, step in and "aid another" on the nearest engaged ally. Dagger atk 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7. Note that I guess this only really works if she's within 5' of a tussle...since she doesn't have +1 BAB she has to use a move to draw and then step in with 5' step. If she's further away than that she'll take part next round...your call. Edit: Oh. And. It only really works if you roll something north of seven... :( "I'll never manage to shoot these brutes with everyone crowded around." ![]()
![]() Rani will ready an action to shoot at the first hostile-seeming creature she sees. She has low-light vision, of course, if it's an issue. Here's Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 if you need it. Rani readies her bow and peers into the rain. "Creatures that are not afraid to approach fires in the night are my least favorite..." Rani wouldn't have her armor on I guess. Not very comfortable. Have to look up the rules for sleeping in armor. ![]()
![]() Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25, Survival 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 16 (still +2, +1?), Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 edit: Wow. Rani's on her toes today. "Look here," Rani says and points at the bottom of the traps. "Either a makers' mark or perhaps the owner of these misplaced traps has left his initials. Perhaps this clue will trigger Oleg's memory." ![]()

Arg. Relying on the RSS feeds again...totally didn't see Sully's post about the temple. Yah! Rani's interested. She'll also spend some time chatting with the cleric. BTW, the 2nd volume of Kingmaker has an article on Erastil (saw it when I unzipped the files into my Paizo storage drive) so I read it. Somehow I had missed that big E was a bit of a mysogynist. Nice. Rani's choosing to ignore that part of his teachings. ![]()
![]() I haven't been on the case. Rani will make a heal check, with guidance, to help K with his save. Forget exactly how it works but I think he gets a bonus if she makes the check: Heal 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17 Edit: Okay, she has to make the disease's save DC with her heal check. If 17 makes it then K gets a +4 competence bonus on his next save. ![]()
![]() Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18, Survival 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24. Apologies...I have this thread on an RSS feed and it apparently getting a whole bunch of posts so I didn't realize there had been any activity until I checked just now. Last I have is out previous two survival checks. Getting the feed is cool...but I guess it's not reliable.
