The true gods of the elves are with us.

Quenly applies Shield of Faith to himself, Korin, and Eadie. He enhances Eadie's plate armour with Magic Vestment. He then casts Deathwatch and Bulls Strength upon himself.

Then the silent elf adds Displacement to his and Eadie's defences, animates his buckler and assumes the shape of a blue dragon.

This uses 4 x lvl 1, 1 x lvl 2, 1 x lvl 3 and 2 x lvl 4 slots.

Quenly can certainly apply a Shield of Faith (+4 Deflection) to anyone who wants it now.

Golems are a pain for Quenly, they're immune to shadow spells. They're not immune to Many Forms breath weapons as such but they are immune to some of the best ones (Kamadan sleep and Catoblepas poison) and damage won't compare.

I propose to Displacement Eadie and Korin, possibly Quenly as well though he'll have to burn a level 5 slot since he's out of level 4s then.

I can also use Shadow Evocation: Telekinetic Charge to put Eadie or Korin past the golem assuming it blocks our path to Thurl.

If burrowing through the wall is an option then Blue/Brass dragonform is an option that maintains full casting, or Large earth elemental with limited casting.

I see no reason why we should fight you Quenly suggests. But as a show of good faith, it would be appreciated if you'd let us know how to get to Thurl, and inform us of any further defences he may have.

Happy to wait for the Skim-reading results. Quenly's got no buffs up that will expire over 13 minutes - but others have so I'll leave the decision on waiting for the Retrocognition results to them.

Quenly's shield of shadow detaches and floats in front of him. With gesture he sends familiar tendrils out to quicken the limbs and thoughts of his allies.

Animate the animated shield, cast Blessing of Fervour. Catches everyone except Yanndu, who is too far away from the party members at the statue.

"Eadie, I can throw you at one of them if they come closer. And I'm sure that they will come closer."

GM, Quenly is Medium sized and elf-shaped again.

Though he may turn into a dragon horse soon :)

I'm ok to continue whenever the rest of you are. My daughter is still in hospital but continues to improve. I'm dividing my time between home and hospital so there may be evenings when I can't post, but I doubt I'd have gaps of more than 48 hours.

Also, I have to let you know that my posting may get a bit spotty over the next week or two. My little girl is in hospital. She's poorly but stable and improving. I don't have my laptop with me at hospital but I plan to visit home once a day, feed the cat and so on, and check in on my games.

Quenly will put up Freedom of Movement before entering the lava chamber; I propose to put the same spell on Lichaam too if he's going to go looking for traps to disarm.

Don't forget, the bridge is hot too. It would be prudent to protect ourselves from fire again even if flying Quenly cautions.

I could assume the shape of a dwarf for a time, but I have no aptitude for dealing with traps, unless they can be defeated with a Dispel.

Lichaam, at what distance can you potentially identify a magical trap, such as a Symbol? I would be especially concerned about a Symbol of Dispelling.

Quenly flies around the north of the fiery wall and lands near to Korin.

You were struck. Do you need attention? You don't seem to be badly injured, but I know the touch of powerful undead can harm the soul more than the flesh sometimes.

In less than a minute, Quenly resumes his usual elven shape.

Assuming he wants it, Korin receives a Restoration spell from Quenly, using Korin's diamond dust (100gp) to dispel the negative level.

What are those marks? An indication of a secret passage, or just the incidental scrapings of the warsworn as it went by?

Quenly will happily pop a Restoration spell, using Korin's diamond dust, as soon as he reverts to elf-shape (which is very soon as he'll not spend more than 1 minute polymorphed).

I've played lots with Eadie, and with her player. She very much favours the falchion, but will use other weapons and tools if they give the party better options (eg if attacking from reach will allow another PC to also melee). Eadie is nothing if not a team player.

I may have misunderstood your intentions, sorry. But it was as easy for Quenly to fly over the warsworn and create the flank, and it looks like that's saved you a scroll.

I've moved tokens on the map, hopefully in the right places. Eadie should be Large now but I can't change her token's size.

Yeah, Quenly's natural attacks don't pierce any DR just now. He's wearing a neck-slot item that's necessary to give him access to Greater Polymorph, so no AoMF. Although, if I planned to only use Small magical beast form Quenly could revert to his +1 Agile AoMF (he's still carrying it). Greater Magic Fang would help a bit.

Quenly's shield has Shadow on it. As a constant bonus I believe that's kept if the shield merges with him during a polymorph, but if not it's just a +5 Stealth bonus. Shield infusion is a good option to have available.

If Quenly refrains from more exotic shapeshifting and sticks to medium dragons to retain full spellcasting, he'll have access to Heal and Shadow Evocation for Telekinetic Charge, which I've found very effective in the past. Although Quenly can Still Spell to cast whilst in any form, this does deny access to level 6 spells and also means taking a full-round action to cast, so don't be more than 5' away if Quenly's a catoblepas and you need a Breath of Life :o

Note re: lower level slots, don't forget Quenly's Channel the Gift!

Yanndu, Eadie already has Displacement up. You can Greater Invisibility her too I suppose but it seems redundant. Quenly wouldn't mind the spell though ;)

Quenly/Sleipnir unleashes his kaleidoscopic breath again, before flying over the warsworn at a safe height.

prismatic spray: 1d8 ⇒ 4 Green = poison. It's definitely immune to that.

Both Eadie and Yanndu's tokens seem to be grouped with Quenly's. Yanddu has inadvertently been moved with Quenly and I don't know where he's supposed to be, sorry.

Hopefully Eadie can rejoin us before too long. We've not been going super fast.

If not, Quenly can melee at a push via some of his Many Forms options. Not unlike Korin, Quenly needs buff time to be really effective (and he's not likely to get close to true front-line output, but if an enemy doesn't have DR then 100+ damage per round is feasible.) A fairly standard preparation routine would be:
1. animate the animated shield (move), quicken bulls strength (swift), blessing of fervour or displacement (standard)
2. many forms into dragon/chimera/something else (standard), quicken divine favour (swift), move to engagement range to ideally full attack from round 3.

I think what would benefit us most, whether we are 4 or 5 PCs, would be creating the time to get buffs up before we tackle the target BBEGs. The current fight is rather an oddity - the warsworn seems to lack ranged attacks and its telekinesis hasn't budged Eadie, but we've not hit it with anything yet either. I don't expect the luxury of 2-3 rounds free buffing if we happen to walk in on Thurl.

Quenly drifts slowly forwards. With an act of pure will he causes the shadows to wash over Eadie - and when the darkness recedes, Eadie is not quite where she was a moment earlier, still mounted, but now to one side and then the next.

flying 5' step, cast Displacement on Eadie. This spell has no Components for Quenly thanks to Deaf Curse and Eschew Materials.

Quenly will indicate when he's "talking" to only one ally - otherwise if you're within 60' of him you're in range of the telepathy. Also, with two shadow dragon allies we could chain telepathy over a wider area.

Quenly/Sleipnir trots forwards through the air. Once close enough to the warsworn, Quenly brays - a strange, discordant sound from his equine mouth. But stranger still from the beshadowed shapeshifter, the noise is accompanied by a flashing kaleidoscopic cone of colour that sweeps over the undead.

prismatic spray effect: 1d8 ⇒ 5 Blue ray = Flesh to Stone: DC25 Fort save negates. (Warsworn seems to be composed of lots of flesh and bone, so it could work).

Single move action, Standard to breath weapon. prismatic breath recharge: 1d6 ⇒ 2 rounds. Quenly needs to put the warsworn within 30' breath range but wants to stay out of its reach, so I should think an elevation of 25' would do it.

Just my 2cp, but I think if we get to the Ossuary with the dwarves alive and we haven't had any more combat encounters then we might not need to rest but can leave the dwarves in the Mansion and come back for them.

We all agree that we want to protect the dwarves Quenly broadcasts to the pathfinders.

And so there are only two choices remaining to us. We go forwards, or we go back. In either case the dwarves come with us.

If we go back, it will cost us time we might not have. It is the safest course of action for the dwarves, but it will cost us in effect a whole day, and we do not know what Thurl might do in that time.

If we go forwards, we will escape the Labyrinth and enter the Ossuary at some point, whereupon Lichaam will conjure his Mansion, which should both protect the dwarves and enable us to find them again later. But we risk further encounters in the Labyrinth that may endanger the dwarves.

My preference is to go forwards. I believe we can protect the dwarves until we reach the Ossuary.

^ this seems like a reasonably safe way to both make progress and protect the dwarves. Better than going backwards or leaving them to fend for themselves.
