I will shield you, Flyn.
Quenly gestures, and a ring of violet flames springs up around the ranger.
Shadow Evocation Wall of Fire, in a ring around Flyn with the hot side facing outwards. This will do 4d6+28 damage to undead passing through, as well as damaging undead within 20' of the wall. Although there's a DC23 Will save to take 20% damage, zombies and skeletons likely aren't passing that often. If the light conditions are dark or dim light, Quenly makes this a Tenebrous spell, increasing damage to 4d6+30 and the save DC to 24.

Quenly follows the others, flying above the reach of any land-bound undead and wary for fliers.

You'll have to remind me where to find that statue, Flyn. I spend more time at the Sanctum of the Sages and at the Acadamae than I do at the Grand Lodge these days...

I am not opposed to banishing the unliving from our Lodge. Lead the way.
Quenly puts a few spells up before we approach the Mausoleum. Freedom of Movement, Deathwatch, Ward of the Season (Fall), Magic Vestment (shield), Shield of Faith, Bulls Strength, False Life. He's expended 3 Channel the Gift slots on Greater Magic Fang (so Colin still has the spell should it be needed again) - and 1 minute of Many Forms. Henceforth, Quenly wears his Agile +1 Amulet of Mighty Fists.
(Quenly also has Hunter's Blessing if we want to target other creature types and terrains later).

Hazardous knowledge is only hazardous in the wrong hands, and it's the Venture Captains who decide who the 'wrong hands' belong to. The obvious way to discharge your contract is to remove the wrong hands - as directed by the Venture Captains here before you.
Also Auto-Aid Diplomacy.

Quenly gestures, and creates a cold downpour that douses the flames. 40' radius, not sure how much of the room that covers. Avoid the person of the archon.
Colin, can you conjure water elementals to put out the rest of the fires?

You know you could have just asked me to fly over the wall, Flyn Quenly smiles wanly, held aloft on wings of shadow.
I can deal with the fires. Probably.
GM, how large are the fires? Quenly could use a Shadow Conjuration Sleet Storm, or a Shadow Evocation Hydraulic Torrent, to cover a large area and put out fires. Iirc objects don't get saving throws unless they are attended and/or magical.

Is there a particular method of signaling you? Quenly asks.
I have reserved an item for purchase that I will collect presently. I have a feeling it may assist us greatly. Although I wish my sister were here, she has experience in this particular endeavour...
Quenly will purchase a Spectral Shroud

Colin is CL14 so only +3 At some point - before we attempt entry to the Grand Lodge or Skyreach - Quenly will assume a "combat form" for the purpose of accepting the GMF. I think perhaps three castings to cover 2 claws and a bite, since those will likely be applicable across a lot of different shapes.
Quenly can happily burn 3 spell slots on Channel the Gift so you only need to keep the spell prepared in one slot (and can then use it again of course).

It is not the Emerald Sage's style to parade assets, as you put it Venture Captain. But if he thought that doing so would bring the ire of the city down on the Society, and if he thought that advantageous, then it is a possibility.
As for Vahlo, I do not know him. But if Eylysia's intelligence holds true, his objective is to serve his master, and what the Whispering Tyrant wants with the Grand Lodge is anyone's guess.
Except that, I'd wager a senior Venture Captain like you knows more than we do about the contents of the Lodge's vaults and the artifacts that might hold most appeal to the arch-lich and his servants.

Sounds fair, GM. I think I would rule it the same way. Couldn't find any guidance on the boards.
I might upgrade Quenly's Amulet of Mighty Fists, but would like to see how our new Druid wants to make use of GMF spells. He has a +1 Agile AoMF but eschewed it for a couple of levels in favour of the Heartstone of the Wronged (a chronicle sheet item) which buffed his effective Oracle level for Many Forms.

Quenly watches the guard-pathfinder in silence. Following Flyn towards the tavern, he gestures, his hands rapidly forming complex shapes that twist and bend the shadows that accompany him.
A familiar orb forms, expanding, revealing tiny motes of light within; and then just as quickly as it appeared it recedes again, leaving in its place a tiny dragon, no bigger than a housecat, its scales as black as midnight.
Do not trust the guard. The disembodied voice of the Jacinth Sage sounds via the draconic 'interpreter'. Remember, Torch favours half-orcs as his bodyguards. Expect a trap. Let us not enter the tavern unprepared.
M Elf Oracle (Ancient Lorekeeper) 14 | AC 33 T 21 FF 27 | HP [132/121] 121/121| F +17 R +18 W +16 | CMD 34 | Init +12/14 | Perc +21/23 lowlight vision, scent, darkvision, see in darkness, deaf | Spells (-, 6/8, 7/8, 3/8, 5/7, 6/7, 5/6, 4/4)
A hypothetical question for you GM, whilst I ponder whether or not to spend any more of Quenly's gold:
If Quenly shapechanges to a given shape with Many Forms and receives one or more Greater Magic Fang spells (the single natural weapon version) whilst shapechanged, does he retain the same Enhancement Bonuses if he later adopts a different form with equivalent limbs/attacks?
For example, the voonith shape gives 4 claws and a bite attack. If Quenly/voonith received 3 Greater Magic Fang spells, two on claws and one on the bite, and then became a sleipnir (4 hooves and one bite) would the sleipnir's limbs retain enhancement? Or if he changed from voonith to chimera (3 bites, 2 claws) would he retain one magic bite and 2 magic claws?

Welcome Colin!
Quenly will much enjoy a Greater Magic Fang from time to time - and can even spare your spell slot with his use of Channel the Gift ;)
Quenly doesn't tend to melee much, but when the need arises assumes various different shapes via Many Forms (Greater Polymorph). GMF can help a lot with that. Quenly does have a +1 Agile Amulet of Mighty Fists that he should probably go back to wearing.

Retreating from the temple, elemental-Quenly works a secret elven magic. Flyn is wrapped in light vines that do not hinder his movement, and the archer is crowned with bright and fragrant blooms. The bleeding stops even before Flyn has to resort to more mundane methods.
Ward of the Season (Spring) provides immunity to Bleed for 15 hours - redundant I know, but Quenly planned it and he can :)
"You mentioned a great evil hiding behind a Decemvirate mask, and Torch's plan to assault the Grand Lodge. I believe you were going to tell us why. I'll get us clear of the ghost mantis' hunting grounds, but please do enlighten us."

Whereabouts is the exit on the map, GM? Quenly can either blast Saviya with a Shadow Evocation if Flyn (and Tad?) have her greatly weakened, or just turn into a Whirlwind and pick everyone up and go.

"The true gods grant us freedom! Come with me!"
Quenly gestures, invoking his eldritch patrons. The ever-present shadows expand and cover him completely. They do not stop, but go on expanding - and then, just as suddenly, they recede. The elf is gone, and in his place is a large creature composed of rushing winds!
Quicken Divine Favour, then Many Forms into a Large Air Elemental. In this shape Quenly can assume Whirlwind form and pick up the whole party, then fly out of the Forbiddance effect and the temple. Quenly is also Immune to Bleed in this form (as per Greater Polymorph: Elemental Body III).

Quenly calls upon the true gods - though he utters no sounds.

Not used to being threatened, Quenly feels a rising panic.
"I have an escape plan!" He tells Flyn, in the elven tongue. He bolsters his own defence again with a gesture, a portion of the shadow that clings to him seems to peel away and interpose itself between the elf and the assassin.

No worries Flyn.
I'll have a think about whether it's time to shapechange to some sort of combat form.
Meanwhile, maybe our two clerics could try some Greater Dispels on the BBEG? She's definitely got some sort of abjurations up (Spell Resistance and Protection from Fire seem certain).

"My creature is destroyed! Flyn, target that priestess!"
Quenly gestures, floats backwards, and gathers his elf-magic about himself in preparation for the next unholy assault...
Cast Quickened Resist Fire, 5' step, Ready Counterspell with Greater Dispel Magic. Quenly should be able to identify whatever the priestess attempts to cast, and he'll attempt to Counter any significant attack. It looks like she has Quicken Spell, but Quenly will try to stop any big blasts or major threats.

I am an associate of Ven's, of the order of Jeweled Sages. I am, as you rightly assumed, also a Pathfinder. We must find the Emerald Sage before his machinations cause harm to innocents - whatever we may think of the wrongs of the Decemvirate.
And on that matter, please do enlighten us if you can. I already know what happened to Ven's companions, all those years ago. I have seen his memory firsthand. Is there more?

Quenly wouldn't need the Channel - he lost temp hp from False Life mainly, so a CLW cast was enough to get him back to max hp. He then casts a fresh False Life. Channel might still be the most expedient way for Tad to heal though.
I might make use of the runestone. I believe we are ready to visit Eylysia now. I hope we will not need to resort to violence, but if she is unwilling to give up Torch it may be necessary.

A few moments if you please, Flyn. This battlefield is littered with lost magical items. I will recover and examine them.
Quenly flits over the bone-strewn field and collects the items. He studies the scroll with Read Magic, then considers the other treasures.
Take 10 on Spellcraft with Detect Magic, for total of 32, to discover properties.

Quenly patches himself up, and scans the field with Detect Magic in case anything of potential use or value lies amongst the fallen.

Quenly attempts to finish off the ghost mantis. He opens his mouth, and a blast of crackling lightning strikes the gigantic monster!
Can't fail the DC to defensively cast Shadow Evocation Dragon's Breath.
lightning damage: 12d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 6, 6, 6, 6, 3, 6, 1, 5, 5) = 51
Will DC23 to recognise as Shadow spell for 20% damage; and Reflex DC23 for half damage.
Quenly, now visible again, retreats under a casting of Grace.
Mindless critters are not immune to Shadow illusions iirc

He's set up for Standard Action Summon Monster - he'd probably summon a devil or three, especially if he can bring something with See Invisibility or Freedom of Movement. I'd suggest Erinyes - flight and True Seeing. He can bring 1d3+1 via a Summon Monster VII.
Or he can summon Xill, that can move into the Ethereal plane. Summon Monster VII will bring 1d4+2 Xill.
(He has Superior Summons as well as Sacred Summons).

Sorry, forgot that I hadn't actually acted yet :o
Concerned for Rurat's safety, Quenly reaches out with his magic. "I not let them take hold of you, Mighty One!" he exclaims.
Cast Grace, move and cast Freedom of Movement on Rurat.
Can't fail the Concentration check to cast FoM defensively, and Grace avoids AoOs for movement.

The vermin hunt us from the Ethereal realm! That is why my creature did not detect them. They've no defences save for being effectively mindless, but we must beware of being grabbed by those claws!
Do we all have defences against Grab, pathfinders? Quenly can cast Freedom of Movement if you're worried about it, otherwise he'll go on the offensive with Shadow Evocations or shapechanging.
We do not want to get thrown into the boiling tar pits!

I have a character who's a follower of Achaekek (a verminous divine hunter with a giant mantis companion), I wonder if this scenario would work for him :o

I think that's just one round of buffing then. Since deciding against Tiny Hut, Quenly's choices would be Blessing of Fervour, and a Quickened Shield of Faith. Then his "round 1" casting would be as above, the Summon followed by a Quickened Vanish after he got hit. Does that work out? Then I might suggest a Holy Smite or a Flame Strike for Tad?

Quenly takes the AC and attack boost from Blessing of Fervour.
"We will hunt the hunters" Quenly replies.
The elf gestures. Pockets of shadow across the plain expand, then recede, leaving behind 1d3 ⇒ 2 small, vaguely humanoid creatures seemingly composed of the substance of the ground itself. The elementals begin to search for the unseen prey...
Quenly casts Tenebrous Shadow Conjuration mimicking Summon Monster III, creating 2 shadowstuff Small Earth Elementals. The elementals have 60' Tremorsense and the Summoning compels them to attack enemies - so either they detect enemies already and will fight (even if they don't do any damage) or they'll help pinpoint the enemy at least.
The shadows cover Quenly completely, and he vanishes from view.
Quickened Vanish.

"Too far away for the hut trick" Quenly does his best to imitate a kobold's speech patterns.
"So let's close in on the ruin quickly!"
Revised list of spells so far: bulls strength, shield of faith, then blessing of fervour.
Flyn's got Hide in Plain Sight from Shadowdancer, so he'll only need dim light to Stealth. Quenly can provide dim light if the ambient conditions don't fit ;)
