Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Hey all, taking my 4th of July vacation trip this week. Going to be in Denver - updating sporadically. I'll get back home on Sunday.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

$33,000 out of a goal of $6,000? Holy crap!

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

I assume I lose the casting of my third level spell, or can I save it?

Pertreeko heaves a heavy sigh of relief when Rallos is revived, seemingly from death's door. After Gray helps him to his feet, the druid embraces the tiefling in a brief, fierce hug. "Don't scare me like that!" he instructs the rogue; then, to Yasmin, "I can take the wand of Cure. As Ea mentioned, I didn't realize that you couldn't do it without making a check. I'll also take that Necklace of Fireballs." Added to inventory!

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko is stunned into momentary inaction by his friend's death. Just like Moranno before... is all he can think, even in the face of the apparent terror of the Minotaur. Then, Grayface's scream of anguish shocks him back to reality, and the druid immediately focuses his anger on the minotaur that slew his friend! His fury manifests all around him in the form of angrily crackling electricity. His normally black avian eyes shift to a pure white. Lightning bolts flay the ground around him from his fingertips, breaking the stone floor into dozens of tiny pieces that hang suspended in the air. Above the druid's head, a stormcloud of wrath begins to form.

Full round action, begin casting Call Lightning! Using a free action for +1 Caster Level from Place Magic as well...

I was a recruiter of independent technicians. If a Pier 1 needed a CCTV camera installed, or if Target wanted low-voltage cabling technicians for a new Target store they were installing, I was the guy who found them.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

I'm not all that worried, to be honest. I'll find something good. :)

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko takes a cautious step backward as Ea activates the red lever, glancing about himself uncertainly.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Hang in there Gray!

I myself am struggling for time due to having lost my job last Monday. Luckily, I've snared an interview for this Wednesday...so wish me luck there.

Aren't the unchained classes only for Barbarian, Monk, Rogue or Summoner? I didn't think it applied to Druids.

Anyway, my level 5 feat is Natural Spell, allowing me to cast spells while in animal form. My BAB and saves are unchanged.

Skills:

Perception 14
Spellcraft 6
Survival 10
Knowledge (Nature) 6

New spells:
+2 3rd level spells: Call Lightning and Hydrophobia
+1 3rd Level Domain spell: Control Winds

HP:
1d8 ⇒ 2+1 (con) +1 (toughness)

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko nods his assent. "Let us be bold. There's no challenge this place can offer that we can't overcome, together."

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

"I made the same error in judgement as you, Grayface. The difference is that I should have known better. Still, my skill with negotiating with members of the animal world - particularly subterranean water-dwellers like bunyips - is less than perfect. You handled it nicely, in my opinion."

He glances between Gray and Rallos, before nodding in agreement with Yasmin. "There are other avenues to explore that don't disturb the bunyips any further. I recommend avoiding unnecessary aquatic confrontation. My lightning spells tend to cause...collateral damage."

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko sighs in relief as the vicious predatory eel expires. "Truly a majestic creature. It almost killed two of us!" he exclaims, agreeing with Grayface's proposal. To base camp! "I'm all out of spells for the day," he confesses as he dries off his clothing. "I won't be much use until I can rest again."

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Cursing his own lack of strength and his inability to yet cast spells in feral form, the druid abandons the comfortable alligator form and gazes to Rallos, noting his severe wounds and his blood spilling into the water all around them. Attempting to concentrate, Concentration: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26, he turns his full attention to the tiefling's wounds. Though he couldn't heal as efficiently as Ea, and hadn't prepared for heavy healing today, he had to do what he could. Cast CLW on Rallos: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Shaking his crocodilian head underwater, Pertreeko narrows his eyes at the huge python eating his team and decides to charge it!

Move up to it and BITE! Too bad I'm a caster-oriented druid and pretty bad at combat wild shaping...

Bite attack + flank bonus: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3 + grab, but the bite didn't find purchase, it seems.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Yep, totally am doing that with my next action, Gray - just didn't want to meta the decision. It's what Pertreeko's first thought was to do, even if it wasn't the most tactically sound thing. Now he'll go on the offensive...

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Well, in water, pulled by an alligator...maybe?

Str check?: 1d20 ⇒ 9

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

No other exits to the room? My goal is to move in there with my alligator swim speed, grab hold of Gray and pull him somewhere to a safe distance to heal him.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Spending a hero point then, to shapeshift into an Alligator (the python's natural predator).

+2 Str/AC, gain low-light vision, swim 30 feet.

That's the standard action I'm able to take - looking around underwater, is there another exit to take available, or is the only entrance the one we fell through? How long would it take for the water to get high enough for us to swim back out through the door?

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Too late for me to spend my hero point on that Shapeshift roll?

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Sorry, my posting has to slow down a lot over the weekends. Pretty much the only time I have time to post on these online campaigns is when I'm all caught up at work. Back now.

Wild Shape Concentration check, DC 18: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 Failed

While swimming around the outer edge of the room, Pertreeko tries desperately to concentrate on shapeshifting, but the effort of staying above water is too much.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Oh Crap Swim!: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Moving forward, Pertreeko is caught off-guard by the unexpected rush of water, and is knocked off his feet, joining Grayface in the pool!

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

"Good idea, Yasmin." So saying, the Tengu does the breaststroke over to where he had opened the nearest door, leading the way with his eyes peeled for danger.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

At this, Pertreeko nods at Gray. "We should be quiet lest we alert the bunyip to our presence. They are aggressive and fiercely territorial - I'd much rather leave this one alone."

Swim swim swim: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

How tiny are the portals exactly?

Apologies, I missed the Squid’s Reflex Save on the aura!!!

Sinking from sight, the squid remains still for a moment before, with an almost miraculous recovery, it surges back into the fight.

Squid, Reflex Save vs Electrical Aura: 1d20+7, saved
Waiting on actions from Pertreeko / Squid

Haha, I've definitely done that before myself!

Pertreeko screams in fury as the squid is nearly killed, but his cry turns to exultation when it surges back for one last attack! "Kill it, Lotho-lan!" he cries in common-Druidic, urging it forward.

Full attackx2!

Tentacle Grab 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 + grab
Tentacle Grab 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Beak bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Fails to impress...

Hissing in frustration, Pertreeko tries again with a lightning bolt from the tip of his feathery claw.

Free action, place magic +1 Caster Level, I believe 4 uses remain today

Attack vs Touch AC, 3 uses remain: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Pertreeko's Summoned Squid stats

Finishing his summons, Pertreeko shouts exultantly as his squid immediately lashes out at the shark automaton. "Die, you mockery of nature!" he cries out, as the tentacles and beak viciously attack the metal creature.

Temtacle Grab 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Hey guys, I'm back! They restructured the schedule of the project I was working on at my job so it's much more bearable now. Still can't post at home due to the little one taking up my time, but now I can post at work again!

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

I know Zed, I just felt like checking in so you guys know I'm still alive :)

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Yeah, Oliver was a mistake - a happy mistake, but a mistake. My girlfriend and I both thought she wasn't fertile; she never had any periods for years, and she'd been to see doctors...

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

I'm here, I'm sorry, I'm really overwhelmed at work (still behind at this very moment,) and when I get home I have a newborn to look after plus I'm still exhausted from my work day. Generally when I get home I've been napping/trying to sleep in between feedings and changings of my baby boy. Posting in all my campaigns - I want to get on top of things again, hopefully this Memorial Day weekend will let me do that.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko will shake his head in continuing disbelief as they pass through the troglodytes' territory. "They're strange folk, and smell like the wrong end of a hibernating bear, but they're nice enough," he comments to the others, as they make their way to the Splinterden.

Pertreeko takes first watch, his flat black eyes peering keenly this way and that until it's time for him to rest. The following morning, he stretches in a series of slow yoga-like poses as he meditates and prepares his spells for the day.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

"Retreating to the bandit's resting place for the night is wise," the druid agrees. "We don't want to be too close to the shore of the water. There may be other predators than the bunyip about. I will take first watch."

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko's eyes narrow in pleasure as his feathers are cleaned, as if from a giant blowdryer. Brushing a feathery finger over his head, he clears his throat and explains everything that he has seen, paying special attention to the three doors, the straight up-and-down wall of water, and the bunyip.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

That's probably plenty of intel...we know we should avoid this bunyip's domain unless we want a big fight on our hands. I should get back to the others.

So thinking to himself, the druid turns his back on the pool before him and dives back through the water barrier, seeing if he can make it back to the others before his breath runs out and hoping that he can.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko rubs his beak thoughtfully with one feathered hand as he examines the large, amorphous underwater shape. He knows he should return to his friends and report, but he's overcome with curiosity. Besides, describing it as a "big thing" didn't hold much weight.

He thinks back to his studies among the Menhir Order, trying to recall his Bestiary classes. He was always a good student...

Knowledge: Nature: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Booyah!

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Check!

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

I'll report back as soon as I can! xD

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

I'd like to surface as close to the closed underwater doors as possible, and regain humanoid form. Once that's done, I'd like to hold my breath, swim down the submerged hallway and see if I can get any of those closed doors open now that I have hands again.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

I believe my Spirit Senses should remain active in animal form. Are they highlighting the metallic swimmer?

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko nods in agreement. "I am happy to help. In honor of the sacrifice of my petit payaso, the viper, killed by that undine, I will share the scales of that water-dwelling serpent species for a time."

Pertreeko's wing-like arms press against his body, and his bones melt together and reshape themselves as the druid becomes a Viper.

He is able to navigate the flooded areas easily, and will report back what he finds to the others. He will stay in animal form for as long as possible - 4 hours - before returning back to the others. What does he find? Do you need perception/stealth rolls?

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko nods solemnly at Ea's words. "You speak wisdom, Pharasman. In the time that the rest of you were returning to Fort Inevitable, I mastered the use of some animal shapes that might assist us in what you're talking about." The avian spreads his arms, gesturing at the different corners of the room. "If I were to take the form of one of the smaller members of the People, I could scout ahead for us and prevent another bloody battle from happening before it starts. Still, I agree that we could use some rest to bind our wounds, that water elemental possessed monstrous strength."

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko gazes dispassionately at the Undine. "Let's end him and move on," is all he comments, narrowing his eyes in mistrust at the bold water-dweller.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

As a DM, nice catch...

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko lowers his hands, satisfied that combat was over, but dismayed that he was able to do so little to affect its outcome. Next time, he vows to himself.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Can you remind me what hero points do, as I've never used them and we're in a very tight spot at the moment.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Whups, sorry for the reflex thing, I forgot! thanks for covering me DM.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko holds his remaining fireballs. The first one wasn't very effective anyway - and while Yasmin and the voice are talking, the fighting is temporarily halted. "What are you saying to them, Yasmin?" the druid asks, sweat giving his feathers a bright sheen as he holds the fireballs in each hand at the ready.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Hi all, happy to report that my son is happy, healthy and asleep at home at last! I'll be getting caught up on all my campaigns today.

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

I'm at the hospital watching my firstborn be born, can you DMPC me just for today?

Male Tengu Menhir Savant Druid 4 | HP: 34 AC: 17 Initiative: +2 Fort: 5 Ref: 3 Will: 8

Pertreeko summons the ley-energy of the Crystal Spire around him to empower his fireballs. Yasmin proved that magical flame could be a deterrent to these creatures, even though they are made entirely of water...perhaps his spell could be effective too.

Casting Place Magic +1 Caster Level, 7 uses remain

Casting Produce Flame for 4 minutes or 4 fireballs, whichever happens first.

Finding no better place to maneuver himself among the water, he forgoes his move action for this turn. Next action is when I can launch a fireball at it!
