I am posting this to all of my games, so apologies if you see this multiple times:
Unfortunately, I have some bad news.
A combination of work-related stuff has lead to me having to take some time off from the forums. I am, in all honesty, going to need to be gone for several months, as I am going to be travelling for extended periods of time (weeks or more) and I'll likely not have good access to the internet.
As I am not someone who would want to have you all sit and wait for me here, I am going to be withdrawing/closing all of my open forum games.
I want to thank everyone who I have had the pleasure to game with over the last couple of years here, as I have immensely enjoyed my time on the forums, and hopefully, once my work stabilizes, I will be able to rejoin the community.
Thank you again for your time and energy, and I am sorry that I won't be able to keep things moving forward in any of the games that I am running.

"I can explain that!" offers Orvan, clearly excited by a form of magic he has never seen before.
"To dumb it down as best I can, transporting a single or small group of people is easy. You are displacing air when you arrive (assuming there were no variables that you left unaccounted for in your destination matrix), but with each additional body or equivalant weight capacity, your variables increase. Add in a Horse, for example, and you have to do double the calculations to land in a precise area. Add in several wagons full of esoterica, and it gets exponentally harder; and translocation is not something that you want to mess up on, unless the idea of being trapped inside a rock for the remainder of your existance is of interest to you, in which case, bang on."
HP 1 | AC 9 | Init +0 Saving Throws: Paralysis, Poison, Death Magic: 14; Rod, Staff, Wand: 11; Petrification, Polymorph: 13; Breath Weapon: 15; Spells: 12
"Interesting. A smoke-based translocation spell of some variety."

"Before we do anything else, we'll need to sort you out, although I must say that you are a sight cleaner than when I found you!"
Turning to the man, Orven says "What sort of mission is this again exactly, and what specifically does it entail?"

So I am posting from work:
Apologies about not posting sooner, but I have been down internet wise for roughly a week, and will not have internet back up yet for a week or so.
This means that I haven't had internet for the last 4 days (as we had 4 days off at my work for the holiday).
It's been...an experience where I learned that I use the internet more than I thought I did.
With all of that being said, I will try to post from work as I can, but if I am in your game, please bot me as needed.
If I am running your game, please bear with me while I try to post when I can. Hopefully, sooner than better, but I want to be up front about this issue.
again, I apologize about the delay.

"I am indeed a caster of arcane magic, but I do not command these Gen. My knowledge of the arcane is learned in rote memorizations of formula and..." Orven continues to explain how magic is learned in his tradition, but it's like listening to a smug, dry lecturer who assumes that everyone is as fascinated by what he studies as he is.

Orven will sigh and give the man two gold crowns, minted with the treasury seal of Amn.
HP 1 | AC 9 | Init +0 Saving Throws: Paralysis, Poison, Death Magic: 14; Rod, Staff, Wand: 11; Petrification, Polymorph: 13; Breath Weapon: 15; Spells: 12
"If it is money you wish to resolve this, perhaps a gold crown will convince you that this is not worth the trouble?" Orven holds out a since GP in as inviting a manner as possible.

I have returned!
"While I care not one whit about a fish, talking or otherwise, one might begin to wonder exactly where you caught said fish. Surely, the bodies of water here are not flush with such creatures, and I know that in my homeland such things are stewarded by people who protect nature; or, are you perhaps saying that you are such a person, and not a simple fisherman as you appear to be?"

Posting this to all my games, so sorry if you see it multiple times:
This week both my office and I personally are going to be moving. It's been crazy busy and I am not going to be able to post until Monday at the earliest. Please bot me if I am in your game, and if you are in a game I am running, I will get a post up as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.

Orven had set down both his satchels while they waited on the paralyzed people to recover. As the discussion comes around to his mission, he opens the satchel and pulls out the ivory vase.
Made of Ivory, it was clearly in the shape of a swan, if a swan also happened to take the same general shape as a drop of water. Runes etched in platinum ran around the base, and the bottom had a map carved into it.
"This item is linked to it's twin in my master's tower. When I fill it with water from the Spring of Purity, whatever that means, and then speak the command words, whereupon the vase will empty and it's twin in my master's tower will fill with the self-same water."

"I come from the lands of Amn, home to mercantilism and civility. Also, temperate weather. My master, Otheniel, also known as the master of Dark Flame, has sent me here to collect water from a sacred spring as the culmination of my apprenticeship, which when finished will result in me having the official title of Magister."
"I would appreciate it if perhaps someone could enlighten me on the place to which I have come. I know nothing about the desert, nor any kingdoms within it; my education did not really cover such things."

Orven crosses himself when the Evil Eye is mentioned, in a rather odd-looking gesture.
"So, I know what the Evil Eye means where I am from, but is it as dire a threat here as it is in my own lands?"

"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, lady Nabila."
When the asked if he is a lizard, Orven says "Little creature, I posess the power to rewrite reality with my mind; although if I am being completely honest, I don't have access to the highest levels of power or extensive amounts of it."

"I seem to be fine, thankfully. Now that we're not being chased, perhaps we can all take a moment to introduce ourselves while we find a spot to care for those who are paralyzed?"
Orven doffs his hat and bows over it, saying "Allow me to formally introduce myself. I am Orven the Magnificent, wizard extraordinaire."

Climbing out of the pool, Orven turned and helped the others out as well. He then poured the water out of the vase he was carrying, which turned out to be made of what appeared to be porcelain with gold and platinum inlay in the form of runes that covered the bottom and ran in a ring around the base.
Sure that all of the cistern water was out, Orven turned back just in time to see the end of Chipluck's backflip. He then looked in response to the centipedes that were moving to attack them.

Orven sighs and then follows the disgusing Elf's advice, diving into the well. Sighing, he now sees the words of wisdom his master gave when telling him to make sure to waterproof his spellbook.
He tries to grab the rope, but realizes that he's just carrying too much stuff, and hits the water with a rather loud splash.
"Now what?" Orven asks.

I would have made an Aladin reference, but he got caught =D
