Quickly losing breath, Muzhaa'f flicks his wrist to produce a wand and stabs himself with it through the coils.

That meets the DC for continuous damage... but there's no point to trying to make the DC for grappled (which is DC 49, right?).

Muzhaa'f watches the discs go in anxiously and tries not to scream from the pain. Instead, he mutters some holy words in an effort to keep himself alive.

Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 4) + 3 = 15 to self only, sorry folks

Kaylee, being a bard who can cast bard spells, could also keep us grappled squishies (aka me) alive with a wand... :)

Muzhaa'f winces as his shoulders simultaneously crack out of their joints. He steals a breath from the air, enough to wheeze, "Stop! Trying to... hit it! Just... discs!"

"Getting! Hard! To! Breathe!" Muzhaa'f grunts. Seeing no other option, he again calls down the warmth of the Dawnflower.

"Oloch, I think you're needed in the other room! Help Nemis!" Muzhaa'f gasps. "Kaylee and Inira, get these discs on the walls! The dark one is Void, the other is Stars!"

"Dawnflower, lend your aid!" Channel Positive: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 excluding the serpent beast just in case...

Well in that case I stand by my (possibly suicidal) decision. Lol.

It occurs to me now (afterwards, of course) that it would have been smarter to run around the hallway and try to grab the discs through the crack.

The mithral golem is the SMALLER of the two?! Now would be a great time for me to have prepared grace...

"I don't think weapons will save us. Nothing for it. Sarenrae protect me, I will recover those lights!" Muzhaa'f rushes forward toward the two abandoned discs, dodging the titans underfoot.

Either I make it or I'm dead. One of the two. I'm hoping it's grappled and can't make AoOs.

"No time to figure it out now! Hurry! Bring the flail! And the shield! And the mask!" Muzhaa'f casts bless and hurries in that direction.

"We appear to have far more questions than answers at this juncture. Jillia, do you remember anything of what the Starwatcher Spirit looks like? Or what it said to you?"

Muzhaa'f lets the flame in his palm burn on and gazes at the flail, attempting to discern its magical properties. I can't actually make the check, but I'll ask about the schools of magic via detect magic?

Muzhaa'f steps in front of Kaylee. "Fire cleanse this place." He flings the flame from his fingers far from his foe.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 lolz

Muzhaa'f steps back and calls a flame into being on his tattooed palm. Produce flame.

"Brings more questions than answers... and we are running short on the latter here. Let us try these next doors."

Detect magic on the double doors to the north.

"Wait! It's not safe." Muzhaa'f cries, rifling through his bag. He hands a trail ration to Inira. "Okay, now go ahead."

"What? No sense being horribly cursed on an empty stomach."

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 my Spellcraft is abysmal, sadly...

"I am not sure... the magic is hard to read. I am certain, however, that this artifact relates to the strange events here."

Muzhaa'f flashes a quizzical look at Nemis and scans the fountain for auras. Detect magic.

"Remember not to look in the crack," the priest intones, hoping his headache will dull. He moves to look at the next alcove.

"Agreed," Muzhaa'f nods solemnly. "Do you have any idea what this... sphere is?" He gestures at the beacon, trying to read the threads of magic woven through it. Detect magic.

"Snakes can be many things. A snake may be death, entertainment, a friend, an enemy, fear, prophecy, even food. I, however, am not a snake, and neither are my friends," the priest replies.

Muzhaa'f's suspicions are beginning to reach mountainous proportions. "Peculiar indeed. Perhaps that was Arletta, the one Juliet said was sick. ARLETTA?" he calls. If she does not answer: Muzhaa'f cautiously approaches the doors. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Muzhaa'f flashes Nemis a look that says, 'Good thinking.'

"Works for me," Muzhaa'f shrugs. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Muzhaa'f frowns and scratches his chin, nodding absentmindedly at Inira's suggestion. "Jillia... there might be some discs in the corner over there." He waits until she's out of earshot before turning to the others. "I am afraid Jillia is under the same spell as Juliet and the others. Whatever you do, do not look in that crevice."

He glances thoughtfully at the automaton smashing its way through the doors. "I noticed Juliet's paint brush moving to the beat of the monolith's fists. I'm half-tempted to silence it and see what happens..."

"I think we need to take a closer look around this place. Let's figure out what's going on."

Wary of the traps and pitfalls that so often plague ancient ruins, Muzhaa'f takes a careful look around. He also keeps an ear out for the crashing sound.

"Hmm." Muzhaa'f frowns. He speaks quietly to the others, away from the Azlant Ridge archaeologists' hearing. "Something is not right here. Don't look at the sphere and definitely don't touch anything."

"Hasn't been feeling well, you say? May I see her?" Muzhaa'f moves to examine the ill woman. Heal: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 bleh

Muzhaa'f listens quietly to Juliet's words. Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Muzhaa'f takes in the scene -- perhaps the best he could have hoped for -- with some suspicion. He adds, "And when you did not return to Azlant Ridge. Sarenrae's blessing that we find you alive."

"Hmm, I believe that Sarenrae's holy flame is the answer to your question, Nemis." Muzhaa'f surveys the wounds of his fellows, and calls down the healing light of his goddess once again.

Muzhaa'f studies the lens by the camp's firelight to better understand its properties. In the morning, he asks Sarenrae for guidance in the journey.

I'll prepare deadeye's lore for the morning. I'll use a pearl of power to recharge it if necessary.

"May the Dawnflower guides your blades," Muzhaa'f intones, the tattoo on his palm glowing a bright white. He advances to stand beside Jillia, shield raised and ready.

Muzhaa'f too flashes his wayfinder. "Trade Prince Muzhaa'f of the Burning Desert, here on behalf of VC Allahe. We noticed three graves and a hole in your wall on our way in. Have you any light to shed on these matters?"

Muzhaa'f quietly returns Nemis' greeting off to the side. "Indeed, Nemis. You and I had the pleasure of a journey to Pezzack about a year hence. I see the toll of time has treated you well."
