:/ I'd forgotten about this too. Thanks for the catch, Xera! Round 1
The solarian attacks the creature on the corridor's ceiling again in a overhead arc, carving a twin wound before cleaving down towards the one in the doorway. Unfortunately the metal wall gets in the way of a clean shot against the creature. Mysterra attacks with an AoO and hits, dealing 1 damage. Valius attacks with an AoO and hits for 6 damage (as he would not have been attuned for the attack yet). Valius attacks again and hits for another 7 damage Round 2 GM Stuff:
Akata: Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Private Eye takes a close quarter's shot at the akata on the ceiling, which appears to snarl in response and bites at the android's hand in return. Eye does not manage to get his arm back in time, and feels the sharp scrape of teeth against the skin of the back of his hand. Private Eye takes 6 piercing damage from the attack of opportunity (making a ranged attack in the akata's threatened area) and will need to make a Fortitude against DC10 or become fatigued and sickened. Private Eye's +2 bonus to saves from the 'Constructed' trait will apply. I will resolve Eye's action (and any actions that follow) after the roll is made. Initiative - round 2

I did that when the RotRL minis came out and when they finally shipped they seemed surprisingly cheap. This is what I do, and it absolutely helps a tonne to smooth my finances out. Except in cases where the shipping is literally almost 300% the cost of the product itself - whilst I know I’m in Australia and thus should be expecting to pay through the nose for anything that is being shipped here, that sort of price difference is a little over the top even by my standards :( Funnily enough, when I was messing around with the different shipping options, the cost of USPS Priority shipping for the two AP volumes is about what I would expect the cost of UPS International to be (about $67, for the record) so I really am beginning to doubt that this is an isolated occurance, and just a general increase in the cost of shipping. I hope not, but the doubt is now there.

Welcome to the newcomers - hopefully you enjoy the game :) In order to bring you guys gear-wise up a little bit, please feel free to add an additional 500 credits to your characters. You may choose to either use the credits now, or hold off on buying anything until a little later on - your choice :) Also, one thing I have noticed is that the group as it stands has something of a dearth of anyone with the Piloting skill, so everyone (both new and continuing characters) has the opportunity to rearrange their skill points as you wish, should you even want to. I'll start working on getting you all together in game shortly :)
My group just got to this point in the first book, and it was awesome as a GM to watch them crowd around a tablet to view the video. Being able to see the NPC give her last will and testament to them made it all the more real for them. Thank you and your friend for making this video - it was brilliant, and I highly recommend any GM that runs the AP use this video when they get to this point.
I am looking to run The First Mandate (1-05) as a segue between the event just after book 2 begins and the PC's making their way to their next destination. This would allow the PCs a chance to enjoy their new-found celebrity status and give them a bit of time in the limelight, and it would make sense that the Starfinders as an organization would attempt to capitalize on the fame of their newest recruits to try and reinvigorate their ranks after the losses suffered during the scoured stars incident. Spoiler: The only real change to the scenario would be regarding what to announce at the end of the events of The First Mandate, as its current ending doesn't really tie itself to the events of the AP any. I'm thinking that she will announce that the Starfinders will be looking to discover more about the amazing technological/magical blend of alien engineering found within the Drift Rock, and explore what this discovery could mean for the Pact Worlds.
Presenting for consideration Aliyos Medvyed, a human cleric of Erastil hailing from Brevoy. Taking the Touched by Divinity trait and likely to go Hierophant, and going for the option of 25-point buy and rolling for HP. For the sake of disclosure, I have run WotR up to part way through the second book as a home game. Character Sheet:
Note: Values are calculated as if he is lightly encumbered, as he will generally drop his backpack to the floor before/as combat begins.
Aliyos Medvyed
Background: Through the luck of his birth, Aliyos was born into relative privilege as the fourth child of Lord Sandro Medvyed of Brevoy, younger cousin of Lord Gustav, and his wife Lady Ilyana. He grew up with access to the finest of tutors and never lacked for anything.
But there was always something slightly different about Aliyos - unlike his brothers and sister who enveloped themselves in noble and mercantile pursuits and learning the ins and outs of the intrigues of the Brevan courts, Aliyos was driven towards the outdoors. He was a natural with the bow and arrow and developed a keen interest in falconry, but also spent a lot of his time in the stables and with the groundskeeper's children as well, much to the disdain of his siblings and his father. He was also drawn inexplicably towards the faith of Erastil, and experienced dreams on a regular basis where he was visited by a great stag urging him to do good by all people, not just those who were of noble blood or had achieved great wealth. These dreams grew stronger over the years, and slowly pointed him towards the West where the land was wounded, bleeding forth demons that were barely held back. When word came of the call to join the Fifth Crusade, Aliyos slipped out of his family home in the dead of night and began to make his way towards Kenabres, intent on joining the fight against the demons of the Worldwound.
Favoured: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Favoured: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Think I might work with the second set - 18/17/16/15/10/9 seems a reasonable spread to make a character with. I am looking at making either a gunslinger, investigator, or swashbuckler.

This is where I'm at as well - mooks, most creatures, and unimportant npcs will now die automatically at 0 hp unless my players have indicated that they want to take someone alive at some stage in the combat. And even then the onus is on them to be doing things within their power to not be killing their enemies with lethal damage - this way, even if a single point of lethal damage is going to send the creature or NPC's soul careening towards the Boneyards, I can adjudicate "well, since you did try not to kill him, you have three rounds to stop him from dying". Where as an important NPC or villain will always get their 3 rounds of dying unless either that NPC has taken steps to ensure their death at 0 hp or that NPC must die in order for the plot to continue. swoosh wrote: Scenarios where you get in a fight, don't really have time to pick and choose or worry about nonlethal but hope you can stabilize someone after combat's over so you can interrogate them? That's gone, because whether or not someone lives or dies is just me making a GM call with no underlying framework I can reference. But it's not gone, because as the GM you can say that every NPC has their three rounds before death as per the rule on pg 250. It's no more or less arbitrary than Pathfinder's rather clunky system of having to rush to stabilise someone before they've failed their averagely difficult check with massive penalties based off of their negative health points.
Hi all, I've just had the confirmation email for Order 4512413 and it says that the order total was 194.55, but should only have been 168.51 for the items plus shipping. Can you please confirm how much I've have been charged over the total and whether this has gone through to my credit card? Cheers!
I don't expect to be having a problem with is, as my group get together every fortnight for only a few hours a session. The only downside to this is I generally prefer to run games with the pawn set for the AP, but since that won't be released until next year, I am without that particular resource - but that's more a nice to have rather than a need to have.

For me personally, I'd probably change the last DC (which is easier in low tiers, and harder in high tiers) to be 10+2.5*tier (rounded up). This will keep all the DCs in the same pattern as is currently in the book as well as achieving the outcome of DCs not ramping up and becoming harder as a ship's tier increases (provided that the character keeps up with putting skill ranks into their starship role's key skill). Apologies if this has already been hashed out earlier in the conversation.
Hi all - just had a couple of questions regarding the Starfinder superscriber: 1) does the paizo advantage discount apply to the Starfinder products, and if so would it kick in as of the first subscription order in August? 2) does the Starfinder Society subscription appear as a separate subscription, or will the pdfs just appear in our downloads section on shipping day? Apologies if you have already answered these ad nauseum, but I can't find if they've been asked/answered in different threads. Cheers!
Hi team, hope your holidays were good. Was just checking to see if there were any issues with this order or if all was on track with it at this point? Also, because I have ordered a copy of both the Limited Edition and the Standard Edition of the Curse of the Crimson Throne hardcovers, does that mean I'll end up with two pdf copies of the book for being an AP subscriber, or just one? If I will end up with two, is it possible to gift one to a friend at all? Cheers!
Hi team - I recently restarted my Adventure Card Game subscription (in order 4059754), opting to start with the Character Add-on Deck. When I checked the status of my subscription order to see what has been moved to November, I noticed that the Mummy's Mask Base Set has been added as well which has dramatically added to the delivery cost of the order due to its weight. Do I have to start with the Mummy's Mask Base Set, or can I please have the Mummy's Mask Base Set removed and start the subscription with just the Character Add-on Deck? Are the promo cards (if there are any at all this time around) associated with the Base Set or the Character Add-on Deck? Cheers!
Dotting in - got notified this morning, but couldn't access from the device i was using on my commute to work. As for character, in dropping the CORE restriction, I will probably go with a new character as well. Not sure what as yet, but maybe something from Occult Adventures. Or possibly something from the Kobold Press class book - the Theurge and the Battle Scion look interesting. The Background skills from Unchained are awesome - they allow for a lot more depth, particularly for skill-starved classes, and the skills on the background list aren't exactly gamebreaking either.
I will finally be getting the chance to run Mummy's Mask for my other half and a group of our friends, and they have come up with the following party. Sev, an oread fighter (lore warden archetype) who will be taking levels of Living Monolith.
Hi guys - just got my Azuth for this month and the following item has been duplicated on my order: Pathfinder Legends—Mummy's Mask #5: The Slave Trenches of Hakotep CD Set
This has resulted in being charged over my store credit amount my more than I was expecting. Can this please be looked into and rectified as soon as possible before my card is charged for the items. Many thanks. |
