Sovereign Court

"My Lord Varn, my fellows and I are off as well." interjects Matheus. "We have pressing matters to attend to in our own lands."

Sovereign Court

"Ouch...." says Matheus plaintively from 40' below.

Sovereign Court

"AAAAAAAAA!!!"

Sovereign Court

Matheus springs to the fore spear in hand. "DIE FIEND!"

spear v Szam Tass Revealed!: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29 damage: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

The spear passes straight through the creatures ribs and out its back. It looks annoyed, and only very slightly worse for wear. From the wound and spreading outward a frosty rime grows along the spear's shaft and up to Matheus's hand.

cold damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

"HELLS TH-THAT'S C-COLD!"

Sovereign Court

"The path to your immediate right is My Lord's set of suites. Further down to the left of the stair are Lord Iannuchi's apartments." Matheus calls up from below.

Sovereign Court

"I'm game."

Sovereign Court

"Before we do that perhaps we should figure out if we want to stay in a house with a grinning ghoul the next floor up."

Alia of the Blade wrote:

"I agree - most certainly not what I had expected...are they...gone?"

Alia returns the arrow to the quiver, then retrieves her wand of detect magic, burning a charge before taking another look through the open door, without stepping inside the room.

No traps that Alia can see from outside.

Matheus looks up from Lord Varn's side and says "He's alive!"

Sovereign Court

"MY LORD!"

Healed of his most pressing injury, Matheus rushes to his master's side.

Sovereign Court

Matheus retreats realizing that discretion is the better part of saving the better part of that arm. Withdrawal

He retreats down one row of bookshelves popping out into sight of Illthir.

"You too, huh?" he says to her. He looks a bit faint.

Sovereign Court

By the light of Longtooth's magical sword, Matheus steps up and sweeps his rapier up at the giant representation of a swordlord only to be parried.

"Well, if no one else is going to try it." Matheus steps forward and tries the door. It seems to be locked, but the moment he tries it a loud, hallow-sounding gong sounds.

}}BONG!!{{

"What was that?"

The room is suddenly cast into a magical darkness.

The light level was normal (it's midday in a cozy/solemn library with tall stain glass windows whose thick curtains are half drawn) now it is dim even for people

A cool breeze cuts through the room blowing some of the papers off the big table.

Perception DC 22:
Looking around you notice the source of the breeze is that one of images of the swordlords displayed in the stain glass window directly to the east is missing!

Sovereign Court

Matheus instantly moves toward he door looking ready to tear it down if necessary.

"I know Matheus wishes to find Lord Maegar Varn. Can we start with him?"

"Indeed!"

Sovereign Court

"Are you ready? We need to find Lord Varn and any of the attendants that are still alive." Matheus calls from the hallway outside.

Sovereign Court

"Back to Ser Iannuchi's main house then!" Matheus says about to charge off, before realizing he is in the middle of a maze. "Um... which way again?" He looks back a Kozen, who angrily points out the direction.

Sovereign Court

"LORD VARN! LORD VARN!" calls Matheus. "He is not here."

Sovereign Court

Matheus's riposte scores a furrow down the creature's flank, causing it to scream a particularly bloodcurdling human cry.

Durgan will attempt the cheerleader move with Illthir - having her stand on his extended arms rather than his shoulders.

Str check seems right for an overhead press.

Except you don't have to roll for anything. You can just lift.

Rules wrote:
Lifting and Dragging A character can lift as much as his maximum load over his head. A character’s maximum load is the highest amount of weight listed for a character’s Strength in the heavy load column of Table: Carrying Capacity.

In Durgan's case that's 300 lbs. So long as Illthir and Ditzy and all of their gear doesn't weigh that....

Durgan Far-Walker wrote:
Then if Illthir holds Ditzy up, it might work. It seems a bit tricky but not Cirque du Soleil level.

Sovereign Court

"We should try to find Lord Varn first." interjects the fighter.

Sovereign Court

Matheus kicks in the front doors and stomps into the front hall, a scene of carnage, with the bodies of his fellow guardsmen and their mummified attackers laying about a room dotted with the scars of magic.

Sovereign Court

A few rounds later, after setting the body of Allisa away from the fire....

Out front of Ser Richard Iannuchi's Manor

Other things to consider: Matheus doesn't have his primary weapon (though he does have a mw rapier, and swordbreaker dagger). Your selective channeling cleric, Mother Vorst doesn't have many channels left. Her domains are Knowledge and Repose.

"Quickly! Up the stairs we must find my Lord Varn!" Shouts Matheus leading the way.

Sovereign Court

"And I was with you all in Ser Iannuchi's home when there was that eldritch flash."

Sovereign Court

The Stable

Vorst rushes to the stricken Alisa.

Matheus jumps in once more with his curious tripartite blade but can do little against their elemental opponent, before diving out of the way for Durgan.
Matheus swordbreaker dagger v Efreeta (improved disarm, cover): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25

The fire explodes outwards in all directions occupying all of the visible interior of the building.

"MY SPEAR!" wales the fighter.

Conditions inside
Note on cover: that the efreeti has cover because of the top of the door frame from people standing outside the door. They get cover from her as well. She's technically up a little higher than 5', but everything related to fighting spaces in Pathfinder boils down to 5' squares and cubes.

A dagger seems to appear from nowhere in Mateus's hand. He steps forward and the blade opens like like a broad angled fork, and catches the genie's broad curved blade between its pinions. He twists the pommel, but the efreeta's grip on her falchion proves too much for him to break.

Mateus swordbreaker dagger v Efreeta (improved disarm, cover): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27

Before Illthir's eyes, Matheus comes flying through the curtain of flame blocking the door into the main stable and lads in crouch, spear in one hand, steaming.

"MONSTER!"

Matheus grins and shrugs at Zokon as Dool moves off to take a seat next to Lord Varn.

And with that Castigan rides off to see to his men.

I'm sure Lord Varn will welcome you to his keep once it has been completed and fitting for such noble company.
