Phntm888:
Short term goals:
Find employment on a ship going out of the system.
Continue the search for who it's original purchaser was, by way of going to the factory on Affa where it was built.

Long term goals:
Find its previous owner to learn its history and purchase itself from them.
Purchase the T-6 shuttle it had been on and rebuild it. (or one like it)

Intangible Motivations:
Lem's knows it's memories and previous personality has been scrubbed. But it know it had those things due to residual sensations. One of which is a great appreciation for Corellian opera, which it will hum. Another is a great distrust for the Empire and a willingness to operate outside of it's laws. Lem also has a 'soft spot' for those who are called Jedi and it supects that his previous owner may have been one. Having spent several months adrift in the derilict T-6 shuttle it has aquired an odd fondness for it and fantizices about owning that one or one like it. He also preferes to be abourd ship or in orbit, no longer being fond of being 'on planet.'

Three people your character knows: These can be enemies, allies, or contacts your character trusts/mistrusts.
Hephaestus Falco and his grandaughter Suzzana, Human friends who it worked with for several months. They were alive when it left to go search for its information. Lem believes they are honest and would consider them friends.
Deel Doneeta, a Twi'lek businessman who it did odd jobs for, he was alive the last time it saw him. Lem knows Deel has his own interests at heart, and believes Deel would sell his own mother if it was profitable enough.

So a bit of a backstory, I do better pulling the lists if there is a backstory :)
Lem's T-6 was found adrift by a human named Hephaestus Falco (58) and his granddaughter Suzzanna (14) owners of the cargo ship 'Nobodies Business' They were flying Machinery parts to a independent contractor on Nopces Prime. In exchange for crewing up with them, they agreed not to sell it to the scrap yard they were taking the ship to. They sold the T-6 to a scrap yard owned by a blue skinned middle aged Twi'lek named Deel Doneeta.

Lem understood the laws of salvage and knew that Falco had every right to sell the T-6, and Deel had every right to do whatever he wanted with the ship. As such Lem spoke with Deel about purchasing the scrapped ship from him, when he had the money. Deel, seeing an opportunity, offered to hold onto the derelict ship if Lem would find specific parts for him; that way Lem could earn the ship back. Lem, happy to do so, started with a list of eighty-two parts Deel would be able to turn a profit on. When the 'Nobodies Business' was in port and Lem's responsibilities done, it would take its earnings and look for the items on Deel's list.

The 'Nobodies Business' ran a regular route from Nopces Prime to Chandrila to Corulag and back again. Moving mostly machinery parts, textiles and chemicals, the main exports from the three different systems. Along with wanting to rebuild the T-6 Lem desired to find out more about itself and it's previous owner. However none of the three systems Falco sailed had a Cybot Galactica distributor on them, but there was one on Brentaal IV. After several months of working on the 'Nobodies Business' and trading parts to Deel for credit towards the ship, Falco informed Lem that they were making a special run to Brentaal to deliver textiles for an upcoming festival. Lem was overjoyed, he could speak with the dealership on Brentaal and learn who his original owner was.

When the time came, they made the uneventful trip and Lem used its three day 'shore leave' to gather a few parts for Deel and go to the dealership and learn of his origins. Once at the robotics dealership after speaking with several layers of droids and people, Lem was finally given access to the information. 'No record.' It was as confusing to the droids who looked up the information as it was to Lem. Apparently, the information had been scrubbed from the computer records. After speaking with several more droids at the dealership, eventually one JN-66 analysis droid recommended the only solution would be to proceed to the manufacturing plant on Affa and look at the 'hard copy' of the order. Realizing the analysis droid was right, Lem returned to the 'Nobodies business' and informed Hephaestus and Suzzanna of his decision.

He would proceed to The Sel Zonn Station and find employment on a ship heading towards the Affa system. Of course the old captain explained it would take several ships and several jaunts to eventually work his way there, but Lem was no their property so it could do what it wanted. Lem gave the parts he'd acquired for Deel to Suzy telling her to let Dell know that if he had to sell the T-6 that Lem would understand. Bidding his new friends goodbye Lem boarded a shuttle headed for the station.

I think I have all the requested information. If you have any questions please ask. We've got something like thirty-three hours left, so were getting down to it. If I don't get a chance to say it later, thanks for running the game we players appreciate it. It looks like we've got several good applicants you've got your work cut out, good luck everyone and good gaming.

Phtmn888:
Thank you for looking over Lem, I don't know that this needs to be done in a spoiler. But since it's been working, why change, right?

I've got the accounting issues fixed and made a note of the House rules and the different Home-brewed items you permitted and the ones you didn't.

Thanks for the numbers on the taser, I found the information they provided confusing. As a ranged weapon, what should the range be, 10 ft or more? Also, it doesn't say what happens after it shoots the wires out. Do they continue shocking until removed, or do they automatically return to the taser to be shot again. What I thought would be an easy way for Lem to defend itself is certainly not as simple as I'd hoped.

Also, I've removed Its marooned Background, though I like the backstory, so I'd like to keep it. As for the Destiny, I haven't got a clue. Though I'd like it to tie into what happened to Lem before its memory was wiped and ship blown up. My idea is that it was helping a Jedi or Jedi sympathizer escape.

I'll Happily write Lem an expanded backstory. Should I wait to see who gets in the game, so we have possibly met before? Or would you want to give me names of possible contacts that would remember him? I imagine the background in three parts. What happened before the 'attack' what happened while it was marooned alone, and what happened after he was rescued. The latter one involving a merchant or smuggler or scavenger that found the ship and Lem. Which would be an easy place to tie into one of the other players.

I mentioned earlier that I'm not real familiar with the system, I've only actually played with Lem and that was for a short period of time. So, If you're looking for someone with a ton of experience with the system, I'm not your guy. But we've played together a couple of times, now in WotR and in one of Rizz's WoT games, so you know what you'll be getting as far as posting rate and quality.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Lem's destiny would be. Let me know if there is anything else you need. I'll start adding some of the background information you have requested.

Phntm888:

Duh, I feel like an idiot. Lem's original stats were rolled and I completely forgot the droid stat adjustments. Looks like I should refresh my knowledge of the game.

So a 'normal' LE - Series Repair Droids Abilities are: Strength 10, Dexterity 8, Constitution -, Intelligence 13, Wisdom 12, Charisma 12. If I use that as a base, (I want to maintain some similarity to the original) I can increase Dex and Int to:
Str 10 = 8 Base + 2 Points
Dex 14 = 8 Base + 6 Points
Con --
Int 16 = 8 Base + 6 Points + 2 2nd-Degree Droid
Wis 12 = 8 Base + 4 Points
Cha 12 = 8 Base + 6 Points -2 2nd-Degree Droid

That's a 24 pt buy, and as a 'LE-Series' It has two 'upgrades' I think that fits the build ok.

Very cool, thanks Phntm!

I believe I've got Lem's crunch up to snuff. Please let me know if you see anything that needs addressed.

I'll continue developing Lem's fluff. The underlying story to his background is that the T-6 shuttle he was found in was originally transporting Jedi and Jedi sympathizers. They abandoned it, Lem volunteered to fly it to a distant point with it rigged to blow. Instead of destroying Lem and the ship, the blast ruined the ship and wiped Lem's memory.

To date Lem's not been able to learn anything about the shuttle or Itself. But Lem will have interests and goals, centered around that idea. Some of the people in Lem's background will be people from the scavenger ship that found the T-6 shuttle.

I would be happy to tie in backgrounds with anyone who is crew on a ship that may have stopped to investigate the destroyed T-6 shuttle.

Man, tons of activity over here, looks like we have plenty of interest for that 4-6 players.

I'd originally asked about a Wookie, but it looks like a fair amount of combat types.

So, this is RH's robot LE-M-07d, I'd played it briefly before and I've started to miss it. It's a technician droid who I believe would be able to get along with an Astromech R2 unit. I hope I'm not stepping on any toes Philo.

Its a Modified LE-Series Repair droid the M designates 'modification' the 7 represents how many ‘factory modifications’ were made and the ‘d’ represents the need for licensing.

The goal is to develop enough of a personality that It will be able to take the prestige class Independant Droid. I've got a short background, I'll work on the background/description items more, Since Its memory was wiped and he was adrift, I will need to get creative. But I think I can produce enough interesting ideas to meet what you're looking for.

Please ignore the present crunch, I need to return Lem to level one and get everything lined up with your build requirements. But you should be able to 'see' what I'm trying to do with It. Yes, I'm calling Lem 'it' on purpose Lem, who considers itself genderless, views it's pronouns as: It and It's

background:
LE-M-07d 'woke' in the cockpit of a T-6 shuttle. It knew the interior of the drifting ship because It had been programmed as a mechanic, computer tech and pilot; the schematics of the ship were in a file with hundreds of other vessels as well as other information. What LE-M-07d didn't know was how It got there or why. Nor did it know who it or the ship belonged to nor why the ship was adrift.

Running through Its own diagnostics as It unstrapped from the pilot seat, It instantly activated It's magnetic feet and illuminated It's multispectrum searchlight. Realizing It's locked access had not been tampered with LE-M-07d turned to see the blast doors behind the cockpit were open and twenty feet beyond opened into space. The ship had been torn asunder and It was still aboard. Using It's Scomp Link, It attempted to pull information from the ship's computer, but, what part of the computer system remained aboard the destroyed shuttle had been wiped clean.

After searching what was left of the ship, LE-M-07d deduced the rending of the ship's hull had been caused by laser blasts. But from who and why was still a mystery; as well as why It had been left aboard with It's memory scrubbed. It had been able to salvage the rechargeable batteries and solar wind panels from the small food appliance in the galley to provide energy. Estimating the distance of systems and stars It was able to calculate that It was drifting in or near the Perlemian Trade Route. It would be just a matter of time that a ship stopped to investigate for salvage.

Once off the derelict ship LE-M-07d researched for Its and the ships previous owner, but has so far ran into dead ends tracing It's or the ships information.

Appearance:
LE-M-07d As the designation infers, the droid is a LE Series Repair droid with seven modifications, two of which were designated ‘d’ for Licensed. It's appearance while clearly an LE model is slightly different. It's legs and feet are larger to give space for the magnetic feet and jump servos. On Its head, symmetrical to it's cycloptic eye, It has a port for the multispectrum searchlight. The licensed systems are the locked access and the Taser built into it's right palm. Also the droids blue Durasteel Shell had been upgraded to the off-white alloy of the Duravlex Shell. LE-M-07d also wears the black nylon and plastic utility belt that he carries his tool kit in.

personality:
When Le-M-07d’s memory was wiped several months ago, returning it to Its original programming, whatever quirks It had were wiped with it. But, being alone It developed the tendency to ‘whistle’ Corellian opera’s and when nervous or bothered by something begin talking to itself. I’m pretty sure personality will develop quickly. For at least the first level Lemm will be adamantly opposed to doing permanent damage to a living sentient creature. But will be willing to use the taser.

All right this is the crunch on RH's android Lore Warden Lem. I'll sort out his fluff once I learn if we can just 'Wake him up.'

He'd have programming and a personality, but not remember anything about his previous life, including how he got there. He would be very social inept, but I would bump his charisma as we progress on the ABP.

It sounds like he fell down on the grate

I have no idea what that means. Where is the grate? Please give enough of a description of what happened to Lemm so I can play.

Seeing the vent collapse, Lemm quietly asks Dreamchaser, who is closer to the action. "Master Dreamchaser, Now what do we do?"

Your commander was smart to call in a specialist! >Cough!< Now, the blockage is especially bad right past here, so bad it's gotten into those panels." He points to the far wall, trying to get the stormtroopers to look away from the vent. "Come on, let's pull these panels out before the carna-spores mature. Otherwise, this whole station is going to be fungus-chow."

Then it sounded like a few of the stormtroopers went to do as he said.

That is all you can see/hear,

yeah, I got that from Rufus' post and your resonce. I was talking about when you said:

Kol DyThrand wrote:

He slid another meter forward, took his fusion cutter, and with a snap-hiss severed both support rods... (And if that doesn't do it he'll spin around severing the skin of the shaft from the inside to create a break.)

The plan is for the weight of the heroes to break the ventilation shaft here and for it to come down on one (hopefully both) stormtroopers.

I was hoping for an actual description of what happened. Did the vent collapse on top of the two stormtroopers, did Kol, Dreams and Lemm fall out of the vent on to the ground, Are we injured from the fall, are the stormtroopers injured. I'm asking what happened to Lemm in the vent after you said Kol's actions took place, so I can respond to it.

A little lost, can I have a description of what happened and What Lemm can see or hear?

not it

Surprised to see Rufus drop through the vent and speak to the stormtroopers, Lemm watched the two humanoids in front of it to see what they would do.

Sorry, I was kind of waiting for Rufus to tell us what he sees...

turning his cycloptic eye towards the front where light is shining through the vent into the shaft, Lemm whispers, "Stormtroopers?"

doing a very human-like shrug. Lemm continues. "If we follow the vent we may not know how to find our way to the room below us." It gestures towards the vent. "If there are stormtroopers, I could lower myself down and distract them so you could drop down behind them." It turns it's cycloptic eye towards Rufus then towards Kol to see if either of them had an opinion.

Quen Pah is there a vent? Who is closest so they can look down it?

Is there a vent similar to the one we found earlier?

Hearing their target might be near, Lemm turns it's cycloptic eye towards Dreamchaser. "Master Dreamchaser should I approach the vent and remove the cover? If there are stormtroopers they will be expecting a technician droid in the shaft."

Hearing Dreamchaser proclaim he's getting a bad feeling, then seeing him check his weapons. Lemm pauses, turning towards the Catharese. "Master Dreamchaser, you've said that before when the aboriginal's were outside the ship. What do you mean 'bad feeling'?"

It turns it's cycloptic eye towards the shaft, "We know there are storm troopers, what can be worse than that?"

Turning it's cycloptic eye toward the humanoids in front of it, Lemm waives it's hand at them to proceed.

Shaking it's head, having no idea what to tell the stormtroopers, he calls back down. "My superior said, I had a half hour, so I will be out of the vent by then. I will be moving through the vents taking two more lefts and returning the way I came."

So if Lemm's shenanigan's gets him killed, Can I replace him with a Wookie prisoner that the group frees?

Confused Lemm turns it's cycloptic eye at the others, then gives a human looking shrug turning his voice regulator back towards the vent. "None master stormtrooper. May I continue with my task?"

Still completely true.
?: 1d20 ⇒ 7

Hoping the humanoids continue while it delays the stormtroopers. Lemm responds. "I am the only technician droid in the duct. As for progress, I have only gotten to this location and I have the remainder of this duct. But it seems others think I should be done in half an hour."

Still everything true
?: 1d20 ⇒ 8

ninja'd by Rufus, nice! I did not see this when I started typing, but will edit.

Turning its cycloptic eye towards Rufus, Lemm nods, waves them on their way just in case it is not able to extricate itself from the present situation. "I am an LE-M-07d Repair droid my function is Technician, I am programmed to independently monitor the area's I have been assigned and do any emergency maintenance needed and continue preventive maintenance on a regular schedule."

Pausing for a moment. "I used the vent to enter the ductwork above you. Shall I exit back through the outside vent and return to you to provide you with further information about the quality and condition of the duct work and the type of flora and fauna growing within?"

Hearing the message on the comms Lemm continued. "If I am delayed I should inform my 'commander' may I have your identification numbers?"

Again, all true
?: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Dreamchaser is in front of Lemm, but cool.

Moving it's face near the vent. Lemm spoke down to the stormtroopers. "Do not be concerned master stormtroopers. The vent was loose and I noticed plants growing in the shaft. I will report the need for maintenance to my superior."

Lemm has no communication bonuses, apply the roll however you see fits best. Everything he said is true.

?: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Who is nearest the vent? Have we gotten past it?

It's metallic foot scraping the shaft, Lemm drop it's head in shame. Hearing the Storm Troopers talking about it, Lemm freezes. Looking at the others then at the vent.

Quen Pah wrote:
Rufus and Kol don't think that they are detected by the stormtroopers underneath them. At least, they do not act like they heard anything.

How does Lemm feel about it's 9?

So are you saying you want us to roll stealth? Or can we just say were being sneaky and get away with it? Sometimes posting is slow because the directions aren't clear. Things would go faster if you spell things out more and or give us more description.

Moving along on metal hands and knees, Lemm tries to crawl without scratching metal on metal.

in case you want a roll.stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Um, any recommendations?

Crawling behind the others Lemm hears the muffled sound of the stormtroopers talking. Popping open the ends of it's fingers, exposing the projectiles of the taser, hoping it will not need to use the weapons.

Crawling behind the others, Lemm is excited to finally be off it's knees and back on it's magnetic servos.

is the shaft big enough to walk or are we crawling?

Following behind the others Lemm tries to stay as quiet as possible while looking for an exit grate.

Nodding to Dreamchaser, Lemm falls in behind the Catharese, making it's way through the small plants.

Turning it's Multispectrum Searchlight on Lemm shines it first to the left then the right, hoping it would help the humanoids in front determine which way they were going.

Telling Dreamchaser. "I have no idea master Dreamchaser. Once were out of this Ventilation shaft we might be able to find a Scomp Link I can plug into and find an interior map."

Turning it's cycloptic eye towards, Dramchaser, nodding. Master Dreamchaser had said he would be last Lemm would not disagree with him. climbing through the window, taser at the ready. Lemm waits for Dreamchaser to follow asking the Catherese. "Master Dreamchaser I am probably not as quiet as you. Should I bring up the rear?"

stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Catching the grate, Lemm set's it down as carefully as it is able. Looking at the others as it pops exposes the taser prongs in it's two fingers. "Who's going first masters?"

stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Unable to turn the bolts Lemm nods as Kol pulls out his fusion cutter. Dropping it's wrench back into it's toolbelt. Slipping it's fingertips under the lip of the grate as Kol begins to cut.

When Dreamchaser asks if they would be able to put it back, Limm turns it's cycloptic eye from the work at hand to Dreamchaser, shaking it's head. "I do not believe so Master Dreamchaser. Depending on the angle of the cut we may be able to rest the upper portion of the grate on the lower portion. But it would not be very stable" Lemm then looked to Kol for his opinion.

Seeing Dreams and Kal moving towards the north west side Lemm crouches, moving as stealthily as it can behind them,

stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Sorry about the delay,

Seeing the ventilation grate hanging by a few bolts on the north west corner of the building, Lemm points to it. "Masters, maybe we can enter the building through that loose grate?"

Turning it's cycloptic eye from Dreamchaser to Kol then towards the skeptical Rufus. Lemm pauses imagining all the things that could happen to a soft squishy humanoid in the jungle. Gesturing lightly with one hand. "Yes Master Rufus, Droids do Imagine things, but they do not make things up. At least I do not. I clearly heard a walker of some kind."

It's propriety programing kicking in, Lemm continued "I apologize that I can not give you a better description." It looked back into the jungle where it heard the noises of plants being crushed. "At least not as of yet. But if we wait I'm sure it will get close enough for me to read it's serial number. That will allow me to process more information for you."

ninja'd by Rufus, will edit.
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Turning it's cycloptic eye towards Rufus, Lemm shakes it's head in a very Human fashion. "No Master Rufus, not the sound of the speeders, I hear foot steps, very large foot steps." Continuing to look around, Lemm ducks a little lower, waiting to see what the humanoids do.

Crud, just realized Lemm's the only one who made the perception check.

Hearing something in the distance that sounded like underbrush being crushed and a heavy thudding sound, Lemm turns it's head, scanning the area behind them with his cycloptic eye, "Masters, I am not extremely familiar with military equipment. Can any of you identify the type of walker that is approaching?"

Seeing the turret and Stormtroopers standing guard by the blast doors. Lemm quickly ducks. turning it's Multispectrum Searchlight: to ultriviolet, Lemm patiently observes the situation.

perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28

Hearing Kol vote of confidence, Lemm nods. "I will come with you." Folding the tips of it's fingers back over the taser projectiles, Lemm gestures checks it's tool belt to make sure it has everything it needs.

Turning it's cycloptic eye towards Dreamchasers blasters, it adds. "Remind me to pick one of those up if you see one laying around."

Hearing Kol and Dreamchaser lament about their weapons, Lemm holds up it's left hand, springing the tips of the first two fingers back revealing the tips of taser projectiles. "Do not worry masters, I am armed with a taser. Assuming I aid you with the escape instead of flying the ship closer. "

Looking from Catharese to the human. Whether aiding you with the door or bringing the ship closer I am happy to be of assistance." Pausing, it adds. "I would be of some assistance dealing with prison systems."

He gestures towards Kol. "However Kol is a competent mechanic as well. My only concern is if the Admiral will be able to run that distance through the jungle." He looks to Rufus, to see if the 'pilot' has an opinion.

Opinion wise, I'm good either way. More firepower/brain power on a sneaky mission or a faster get away. I lied, let's have Lemm go, it will give him a chance to pick up a shiny new blaster since he now has the feat to shoot one :)
