A tired looking young man is seen a short while later checking the front door of the shop for any orders that he may have missed. He returns to the workroom in the back of Raidnack's Rifles and sets up his meager bedroll on the floor, slipping quickly into sleep.

If there are any orders waiting Kilo will spend the morning putting work into them.

Kilo enters the upper-scale alchemist's shop feeling slightly out of place in his simple workman's attire. He checks in with the proprietor regarding the events of the last few days, asking how things have been, before moving onto business proper. After buying a few non-lethal items Kilo thanks the owner and makes his way back to his own business. He spends a few hours making shot and powder before setting up his bedroll for a few hours sleep. On the way to meeting his companions, he drops off the pellets to the buyer and offers some powder, one isn't much good without the other after all. After completing the transaction, Kilo makes his way to a deserted alley and changes outfits.

Ok, bought 4 tanglefoot bags and 4 spider sacs. That should come out to 320. I figure I'll wait to hear what the profit was from the order before changing totals. Good to meet up other than that.

'Yeah, probably much safer to operate up closer to North Point. I'll ask around up there.' Kilo thanks Orton and arranges to have the metals delivered to his shop. Kilo begins making his way towards the more affluent shopping districts looking for an open alchemist.

Spelbar makes his way through the city back to Midland and Raidnack's Rifles. The old soldier disappears into the building and Kilo Kithuann emerges a short while later carrying a backpack and a small slip of paper. At least all this discord drummed up a little business. He makes his way to Orton's, a local ironmonger, to purchase the materials to fulfill the order. Kilo chats with Orton for awhile, checking on how the other merchant has fared through the chaos.

'Do you know if any alchemist's are still working in all this? I need something a little less deadly than my own work. Some of these looters are just kids.'

I'll be heading back to Raidnack's and doing a quick patrol of the neighborhood as Kilo, gathering information and making sure everything is alright through the riots. Then, I'll be looking to pick up a tanglefoot bag or 4 and a couple spider sacs (alchemical item). Gonna go a little spider-many hopefully. Then, once I've done my shopping, I'll catch a few hours of shuteye and get dressed for an evening on the town.

Kilo watches the image play out and sighs. He pushes back from his workbench and crosses the back of his shop to the loose floorboard where the Black Merlin waits. He gathers his mantle and cleans his weapons carefully. After making sure his shop is secure, Kilo returns to the back of the shop and dons the mantle of the Merlin.

samesies, Kilo will continue to work on the mwk pepperbox during the day and The Merlin keeping an eye on the neighborhood at night. He will swing by Zellara's house each night at a different time, keeping an eye out for anyone that might be watching the place before entering or leaving the building.
He'll keep up this routine until the pepperbox is done or something else pops up.

'I had a line on a smith at the ironworks willing to cut a deal on some barrels. The cheapskate had me negotiating right up until all hell broke loose. I ended up getting driven into Bridgeport proper by a mob of Kingsmen. I spent the night holed up in some pincher's flat. Made my way south when it seemed things had died down enough.'

Once more the mild-mannered gun smith, Kilo Kutaunn makes the short trip back to his store and drops off his belongings. Kilo cautiously walks to the local water source with a pail to wash off the Black Merlin's antics and to check on his neighbors.

When he spots someone who looks capable of filling him in he strikes up a conversation.

'How bad is Midland? Any trouble around here? I got stuck up in Bridgefront when all this broke out'

A lithe figure in black, the top half of his face covered by a steel, hawk beaked mask. His hand rests lightly on the chrome grip of an ornate pistol.

He sighs as he stands up and checks the street one more time before following his masked companion. He stops immediately inside the door and steps left. He presses his back against the wall, watching the room, hoping his entrance went unnoticed and that his sudden appearance will unsettle the strangers.

People always ramble more when startled, give more away when they're scared.

The Black Merlin takes a step off the side of the building and spreads his arms. The vigilante falls softly on his feet and press up against the building and edges close to the open door.

The Black Merlin casts a look to the Albatross and watches him attempt to remain out of sight. He shakes his head. I told him white makes him stand out like a sore thumb. The Falcon of Finesse slips like a shadow back towards the Albatross and taps him on the foot, beckoning him back from the edge of the roof.

He keeps his voice low, as not to carry across the rooftops, but clear 'I count at least two, one's carrying a big axe. What do you think?'

The Black Merlin ponders the card for a moment. Albatross could have easily just approached me in person if he had a lead. Maybe he does't fully trust me yet? To be fair, my last partner died in a cold, dark alley. He tucks the card into his pouch and sets out across the rooftops of Korvosa, racing the setting sun.

Kilo holds stock still in his makeshift bed, waiting for the cricket cacophany to fade. As the chirping continues he silently begins his transformation into The Black Merlin. A shadow in the darkened workshop slipping inside another shadow.

Kilo retrieves his pistol, loads a round, and moves to the carefully hidden loose board leading into the alley behind his shop. Careful to avoid attention he scales the outside wall of Radnaick's Rifles and follows the sound of chirping crickets until he can peer over the side of the building to see what has disturbed the insects.

Kilo yawns widely as he sits at his workbench. The bell above the door hasn't rung in a few days, allowing the young entrepreneur to work uninterrupted. Uninterrupted aside from his nightly trips around the neighborhood.

The workings of The Black Merlin's pistol lay ordered in front of the unassuming gunsmith. The chrome barrel casing and tell-tale ebony grip were wrapped carefully and stowed in bottom of the bag at the base of his stool. As he cleans the barrel Kilo sighs, frustrated at the seeming dead-end he and his partner had come up against in tracking Lamm back to his den.

After finishing the last of his maintenance on his pistol he stands and moves quietly through the door separating the storefront from the workshop and carefully peeks through a gap in the boards over the front window. Seeing no one obviously watching Radnaick's Rifles Kilo deadbolts the door and returns to the workshop, drawing the curtain across the door between rooms. Kilo fishes out the more elaborate parts of his gun and resumes his seat at the bench.

Kilo takes in deep breath, focusing his mind and clearing it of all other worries. He exhales loudly through his nose and sets to work, quickly and expertly reassembling the firearm. Once satisfied that everything is back together, Kilo carefully wraps the pistol and returns it to the bag at his feet.

He pushes aside the curtain into the storefront enough to gauge how long he has until nightfall. After doing some quick mental math, and struggling over whether he can afford to close shop early, Kilo opts to catch a few more hours of shut-eye and rolls out his bedroll in the back corner of the shop. Kilo drifts quickly into an uneasy sleep before he once again dons the mantle of The Black Merlin.

Heh, just realized I forgot to dot this thread, whoopsy.

In Combat: The Black Merlin will be ideally striking from the high ground, providing ranged cover from above. Down the road he'll be flying around raining hot lead on our enemies. Kilo will fight like a more terrestrial gunner.

Out of Combat: Kilo will be the star here, he has a few useful social skills depending on the situation. He'll be dividing his free time between pursuing the mission and keeping the shop going.

Kilo and The Black Merlin will probably remain distinct identities to the bulk of the group unless things go either really well or really wrong. Most of the interaction with the group will probably be via the Merlin initially. The Merlin will gladly act as a 'middle-man' for anyone needing the services of a gunsmith within the group.

Yeah, I was kind of curious as to that myself. Kilo would be reluctant to reveal his double identity to people he didn't trust due to fear of reprisals. I'd figured Corvus and Kilo had a couple harrowing adventures under their belts together so we're at the point where we're more or less partners in the shop.

I would also defer choosing specifics to you as looking over all those characters is a little overwhelming. I don't know how you keep it all straight.

I think we have the more skills based roles covered. I haven't seen anything from Fionnid in a week now. We'll need some melee and some castery types wouldn't hurt. And someone with some healing is always good.

And it would make sense to put at least the meet-up and the team-up in both. If you write your side of the events leading up to it, I'll tie in and we can have everything looking good.

It wouldn't take much for Kilo to accept the help, as long as our goals were similar and you didn't some how look like more of a liability than Kilo is.

I think I'll keep it the way I have it. I largely wanted to take the double-time social talent for RP reasons. Gotta keep the shelves stocked, fight crime AND find a few hours to sleep here and there.

I like your crossing paths idea, basically Kilo's going to start a rampage against the local gangs until he gets to the right man. A focusing friend would be just what he needs to not end up dead in an alleyway himself.

The reason I had taken it was so I could use the double time vigilante social talent to cut crafting times. With RAW is it impossible to speed up firearm crafting with double time because it doesn't require checks?

So I just took a peek at the character creation guidelines and I'm more than good on gold. I'm going to update some stuff and then stock the shop with what's left. Anything Corvus wants to kick in will only provide us with more potential income. Or maybe windows?!?!

So if you're going to be the more experienced of the terrifying team, you could see promise in the young Merlin and see the shop as a useful front. Queue training montage culminating in a karate hand-grasp atop of the tallest building in Korvosa in front of the setting sun.

If we're equals, then we could bumble into each other on cross-purposes but team up to take down a common foe. A wonderful partnership is formed. See above for montage description.

Based on the story so far I don't really feel like The Black Merlin would be the mentor here but I could rework some stuff.
