Thanks for the chronicles. I hope I didn't metagame too much.

"Oh, I'll drink you under the table." Khari nudges Therin with her elbow, and then it's off to the bar!

Khari starts stubbornly cutting down trees. It's hard to think when her potions are flowing through.

Still, she takes a deep breath once it's all over. "Good. Now the forest can heal." She turns to the party. "You all did good. Well. You did well."

She watches Dolok lumber off into the mist. Very majestic and a bit frightening.

"Records? History?" Khari is scribbling notes away in her journal. She's back to her intelligent self. "Congratulations Nelket. You should totally restore your clan and honor its history." She wiggles her eyebrows. "By the way, if you are ever willing to give an interview, I'd love to get an exclusive. No pressure!"

Khari shrugs and hacks away at the tree.

Sickle: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 2 = 17

"Stop bubbling! Rgggh!"

Khari advances on the small blob and swings her sickle.

"Yes, destroy them. Maybe the forest will heal."

Khari fiddles with one of the potions on her belt before drinking it. She takes a deep breath as her musculature gets more firm. "Ugh."

Consuming my Mutagen. Gives me +4 Str, -2 Int, +2 Natural Armor bonus.

She also drinks her vial of antiplague and readies her sickle. "Trees. Finish chopping trees?"

Khari keeps a neutral look as she writes. But it's hard. She would begin bawling right now if she wasn’t trying to be professional.

"We need to check and see if that awful substance is still out there. For Dolok's sake." She looks at the now occupied home. "And for theirs."

"But we need to be smart about this. How do stop clouds and pus? Fire?"

"W-wow, you're huge." Khari wipes the dirt from her face and pulls out her notebook.

"Mister Dolok, or Mister Darkfur? Or... um... I don't know your title. I'm sorry. Brain not working right today." She begins scribbling down notes. "There are still survivors of... what happened to this village. The Farhaven Clan lives, and one of them sent us to find you. So, here we are. You have people who need your help."

Khari slips as she tries to lift the statue and wipes the mud off her face. "Ugh, stupid statue! Stop moving!"

"I'm no acrobat, sorry." Khari mumbles. "Disappointed this one guy I met at a bar, but he was too demanding." Khari blurts out. Something about that mist clouded her judgement.

Khari swings, then checks herself and tries to calm down. "Right. Positive energy and holy water. Um, I have neither. Help!"

"Y-You don't scare me!" Khari swings again. "Stop killing them!"

Slashing: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Khari refocuses as she watches the bear tear into the villagers.

Khari holds her ground and takes a swing with her cestus. "How are you even here? We haven't called you yet, you brute!"

1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Khari stands stiff, frightened. "Are you... hey. Stop!" Khari calls to no one in particular.

"Oh, this is bad! Haunted fog. Keep your wits about you!" Khari runs up to the bear statues.

"Thank you sir!" Khari checks the beautiful carvings before waving them goodbye. "Nice people, and they were willing to warn us."

"So... this is the creepy house?" Khari looks around.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 19

"Anyone see anything besides these carvings?"

"Of course! It's a great centerpiece. One of my coworkers reviews homes and houses. He would be so jealous right now. A home not abandoned, and not abandoning the natural world..." Khari trails off before she begins writing a home review.

"To speak with Dolok, one would have to call him. It’s relatively simple, really, but there are some artifacts from our tribe that you will need to find first: a darkwood carving of a standing bear, a leather necklace strung with bear claws and black feathers, a silver bowl engraved with images from the clan’s past, a small polished stone with a mottled pattern, and a small pot of honey. To perform the ritual, one must wear the necklace and place the bowl on the altar with the rock in it. The honey must be placed to the left of the bowl and the bear carving to the right. You have to drip a bit of honey on the stone and then pour water over it until you fill the bowl. After that, recite a simple prayer, which I can teach you, and then wait. Dolok Darkfur should appear, unless he’s become so lost in his madness that he can no longer be reached.”

Khari recalls Nelket's words. "Is... this might be the bowl Nelket described. Maybe we could use it?" she turns up to the home owners. "If you'll let us, of course."

"Hello! As my friends said, we're here to help the survivors come to peace with a terrible illness that befell them. We're looking for some relics they left behind."

Gosh, shouting across this clear is sure tiring. And impersonal. Let's earn their trust.

"Maybe we could come inside your home and have a chat? Kind of awkward to stay outdoors like this."

Khari wrinkles her nose. "I guess we have no choice. I don't have any of that lock picking skill." Yet "But I hope the home owners don't mind."

"Wow. Wow. So, they live out here?" Khari is scribbling notes like mad. "And they don't want to be disturbed..."

She looks up from her journal. "Maybe we shouldn't break into people's homes? Unless we have to."

"Oh, we'll do everything we can to find your totems." Khari nods. "I'm going to buy some antiplague. Just in case."

Spending 50 gp on a vial of antiplague.

Khari writes every single note down she can. There's a twinge of melancholy as she writes notes. "This is so sad..."

"I'm so sorry about all of this." Khari frowns and puts her notebook away. "We need to learn more about this plague. It's been long enough, maybe the plague has exhausted itself."

"You have a right to know about your home and heritage. Uh, I know I don't get to say that often. Ganzi kinda of just... pop up. But we'll find out what happened to you out there- we're Pathfinders!"

'Hey Jomal. Pleased to meet you." Khari shakes his hand.

Knowledge(Local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 Pfft, there's the 20.

"Oh cool, a Nagaji. Pretty rare around here!" She smiles. "Don't worry, everyone will notice me first." She winks and points at her horns. 'Let's grab that handsome Ulfen guy and go to the Jolly Hag."

She tugs Lars by the sleeve. "C'mon, Pathfinder. We gotta talk to Nelket!"

Khari knocks on the door and waits patiently for an answer. "It's not open yet? Perfect. You will have time for a few questions, right? We're from the Pathfinder Society, and we were sent to meet a woman named Nelket."

Khari is too pushy and sure of herself.

"Oh, hello there. Oops? That's a great name!" Khari extends a hand to shake with. "I'm Khari Sidare. Normally a news reporter but right now I'm a Pathfinder. I'm here to look for Nelket and help her in any way possible."

"Hello. You're Ouida? Nice blades you've got there. Way shinier than my longspear." Khari fidgets with some of the vials on strange liquid on her belt. "Who else is asking for Nelket?"

"Hi. I'm Khari Sidare. Reporter for the Voice of the Free, based in Galt. Pleased to meetcha." the furred woman shakes hands with everyone she can in the market. "How is life in Mishkar? Any major concerns? What's your favorite food out here? Have you heard of a woman named Nelket?"

Diplomacy, Gather Information: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 2 = 13

"She's a jolly hag? Oh, you mean she manages a tavern called the Jolly Hag!" Khari corrects herself and scribbles down some shorthand notes in her notebook. "Well, thanks. If I could ask you- oh, those are my horns, don't touch them like that. Yes, those are my hooves, I don't really have toes." She looks up and snaps her book shut.

"You know, it's been a real pleasure speaking to you. I'll just head towards the Jolly Hag now." Khari quickly distances herself from the nosy merchant and locates the tavern.

Assassination Plot Foiled!
Guild, Pathfinder Society, and Military succeed in routing corruption

The Daggermark Military declared itself free from the corruption introduced by the Ghostknives assassins. 2 days ago the Pathfinder Society uncovered this rogue league of assassins and uncovered their plans.

Istivil Bosk, Venture Captain of the Dryblade House dies at the age of [REDACTED], a victim of the Ghostknives plot. The Dryblade House will be managed by the Pathfinder Society until a new captain can take its place. One gnome, who spoke based on the condition of anonymity, said "Bosk and Clovesh were good friends of mine. They worked hard to keep Daggermark safe, but... they didn't deserve this. No one deserves this." Brandur Clovesh is also a victim of the Ghostknives.

Members of the Assassin's Guild assisted in rooting out the corruption. A local chemist Pemak spoke of the guild. "I've heard the guild takes great efforts to ensure the rules are upheld. Those renegades were going to ruin the very stable balance this society relies on to survive. The guild was more than willing to end this corruption before it could spread."

If you ask this reporter for her humble opinion: Societies can change in the blink of an eye. A guild of killers can become a cleansing force in less than a day. The mightiest of captains can be killed not in battle but with a bottle of brandi. Dear readers, it's important to make your mark in this world before your time is up. Make sure you leave this world better today than you did yesterday- who knows what will happen tomorrow?

"Timinic? I'm here to escort you to the ship back to Absalom. The Society wanted to debrief you. Or at least get you out of here." Khari stands near the gnome. "The society is scary, but it's also really rewarding. It helps me figure out who I really am, underneath all of this fur." She laughs and pours out some ale into a glass bottle. She takes a deep swig before pouring out a glass for him. "It's not poison. I checked!"

She laughs. "You can do so much more to help the Society. Besides, it doesn't get much more exciting than this. I thought gnomes loved that!"

Oh well, time for my day job roll:

"Hmm, I don't know what form Ilchok took. You said an elderly woman?" Khari shrugs. "Maybe I'll just stick to bugbear."

Once they are outside the lair, Khari grabs a special potion. "Bottoms up."

Her blood gets warm as boiling water as her horns meld back into her head, her hair withdraws, and...

"Okay. Then stay here. If we're not back in two days, you probably should hightail it out of here." Khari smiles.

"Hmm, I can pretend to be one of the assassins. Maybe I can pretend to be Brandur? If news hasn't spread about the assassin's death, I can claim the job was done, or something." Khari shrugs. "It's worth a shot."

"Oooh, broken oath." Khari's ears twitch. "Maybe they did something that got the attention of these assassins."

"So... I guess we're your help." She smiles. "As long as you are a Pathfinder, we're going to protect you. Do you want to stay here, or come with us to ensure those doppelgängers are done for?"

"Do you think Pemak is setting this all up?" Khari seems pensive. "Why are you stuck here anyway?"

"I think it's just you, Waggi." Khari stands up. "I'm more of a potion person."

At Timinic's safehouse, Khari replies to the voice. "Makes sense, but we are Guardians of the Open Road. We need to speak to you. Your life may be in danger."

"Right. You two stay here, then. We need to make sure Timinic is alright. Hopefully he's not a shapeshifter, too."

"Kind of loud for an assassin..." Khari muses as she helps Tsuan stand up. "Sounds like we need to find this uh... unsanctioned assassins and take them out."

"But we also need to check up n Timinic. Oh! And the captain is still in bad shape." Khari snaps to attention.

"I could really use a summary of everything that happened. The first rule of reporting is to collect your sources!"

"Oh, good." Khari breathes a sigh of relief. "So... what was this thing? A shapeshifter?" Khari scratches her ears. "What was it trying to do? Besides kill us?"

Any chance I can buy a Cure Light Wounds potion to revive Tsuan? Since we're in the city? That or I spend 2 PP to buy a CLW wand and Waggi uses it?

Dopplegangers are nasty at low levels due to their high damage output.

"Sorry, I'm catching the tail end of this. Sounds like Timinic is in danger of a... whatever this gray thing is?"

Khari bends down to take the potion it held. "Does it have any other potions? We need to heal Tsuan. We can't leave her like this."

"Okay. Okay." Khari thanks the gods. "She'll live."

Khari wears her cestus and moves up to flank with Kurnak. "No escaping now."

Waiting to see if I stabilized Tsuan before I act. Yikes. Invisible dopplegangers are no joke at this level.

"No! Not again." Khari grabs some cloth and runs over to Lai, trying to close her wounds before it's too late.
